Sugar Factory - Pentagon Mall
It took 90 min to get my meal. I had to repeatedly ask for things and still had to wait long time for drinks, appetizer and meal. The manager refused to come out to speak with me. Will never come back.
Very slow service but fun for a birthday!
The special drinks are wonderful however mine was non alcoholic so it should have been cheaper however I had a wonderful time.
The Sugar Factory is overpriced and overrated. The service is slow and the staff would rather socialize and play around than complete their job. The food was horrible.
We celebrated my daughter 5th birthday at the Pentagon City location and my daughter had a blast. Vee was our waitress and did a terrific job for a party of 12.
I made reservation for my nieces Sweet 16, still had to wait an hour and 20 minutes to be seated. And only after I approached the manager several times. After we were seated we waited 25 minutes before I finally asked the manager again for a waiter. We finally got food 2 hours after our reservation. Very disappointing, then the food wasn’t good either.
Great staff!!! Expensive outing :-(. Great desserts. So-so food.
Sugar Factory - Pentagon Mall is a fun experience for all ages! Make sure to try a goblet!
I had a reservation arrived early and was thankful there wasn’t a wait and was seated pretty quick. However, it took a waiter 30 minutes to come to the table after informing the front desk staff twice that no one had come yet. They were out of ketchup so could only offer packets. A dish I order came with guacamole I didn’t get, but just went without because by the time my waiter came back to the table to check on us, the meal was gone. It took a long time for food to come out and I feel this place was EXTREMELY OVERPRICED with POOR service! I know they can do better and hopefully in the future they will.
The service was SO BAD. The table was not set (we didn't get silverware.) Our food was brought out one at a time so that we basically couldn't eat together. Our waiter never returned after taking our order. Our water was never refilled.
The restaurant was very loud with several birthday parties. The service was just horrible.
Its pretty dirty in there. Staff is noisy, its okay to have fun and work but not when it gets in the way of working. My food was cold after waiting 20+ minutes for it. The goblet glass was dirty .....the sugar Factory logo was faded away and the waitress had the nerve to tell me to get my phone ready as if it looked appealing. My waitress was nice but I only saw her when she took my order, gave me my food and the check. Never checked on us. Once we were seated I asked for lemon and she didn’t remember until I was in the middle of eating my food. It was my first time and most likely my last. I was excited to go but now I'm excited to know I’ll never go back. I tried to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday but it was a huge disappointment. Thanks for ruining my day and her birthday. Need some reconstruction.
Staff was very friendly. Food was good but overpriced. Restaurant could use a good cleaning overall. Sticky floors, crumbs around the tables and seats. Not what you would expect for the prices on the menu! Tried it once...most likely will not return.
I made reservations for 8:45pm and we were not seated until 9:45pm. Once we sat down it took forever to get our ice cream sundae and our waitress disappeared. The table next to us kept getting the wrong food and all and all it was a bad experience. Would not recommend this sugar factory!
My experience was wonderful with our waitress Vee. The food and the drinks were great. Everything was going well until one customer (Clapping Cathy) started to treat Vee unjustly and was very disrespectful, however, Vee handled the situation with the best customer service and a smile on her face. She deserves a raise.
Overall, a good time was had by all.
Wonderful Experience!!! Our server and the management made my daughters 17th birthday dinner AMAZING and something to remember.
The food is way overpriced for its quality. I could’ve gotten a milkshake at McDonald’s that would be tastier than theirs was, for $16 I expected to have the best milkshake I’ve ever had. The place was so loud I couldn’t even hear the person sitting across from me. I had made a reservation and still had to wait around 15 min to be seated. Overall a rip off of a restaurant, with their prices I expected to be a lot more enjoyable.
Unlike my first visit a few weeks ago, my dining experience yesterday was disappointing. We were seated several minutes before the waitress had to be told to acknowledge us (this was after we grabbed the attention of another staff person). Once the waitress made eye contact with us, her negative facial expression said it all! Needless to say, we were served 2 of the four drinks ordered and it seemed the remaining 2 drinks were simply forgotten. When we inquired, the waitress blamed the bartender even though we witnessed him running around or standing at the bar?? Finally, one of my guest walked to the bar to get her drink which was a root beer float. I ordered the chicken sandwich which it clearly did not state on the menu that it was “Tyson Chicken Strips!” They served it on thick sourdough bread. This was by far the most disgusting sandwich costing $16. Nevertheless I sent it back and chose what I thought would be a safe bet, Grilled Cheese sandwich. After waiting several minutes, when it arrived the sandwich was the size of a 3x5 index card. This item is listed on the menu for $9. On my first visit, I ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich and it was certainly served much different than yesterday. By that time,I decided it was not going to be my day I gave up. I also noticed that the restaurant appeared short staffed. On the other hand, the employees seemed to spend more time celebrating 3 birthdays and less time ensuring that all of the patrons were serviced properly. Overall, the staff were unfriendly and seemed like they would rather be elsewhere. Unfortunately, I will have to seriously reconsider if I will return to this restaurant.
We came to lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and the restaurant was not crowded at all. There were a lot of employees to cover the six tables of guests but the service was terrible. The service was slow and most of the tables around us were not bussed once guests were done eating. Many tables had leftover food on them well after the customers had left. There were half-eaten chicken wings on the floor that the employees didn’t bother clean up. The food was okay but not worth the money. We also paid for a big sundae and it wasn’t the same ice cream as the menu described but I was afraid to send it back because I knew it would take another 20 minutes to get a new one. The restaurant looks old and dirty. Also, there is no kid menu even though the restaurant would seem to appeal to kids. I would not recommend. It was expensive and not a great dining experience.
I’m not sure if I would necessarily recommend it. It’s basically for the experience to say you went. I have only gone one time. I probably won’t go back unless one of my kids ask to. I got the colorful sliders. I have never ever been one to ever send food back or complain - and I did not at this visit - but the bread was so hard and dry and hard to even bite into. I don’t know if it was the food coloring or what. The fries are great and they give you plenty to share! $30 for the non alcoholic drinks is a bit steep but I get it’s the experience not the actual quality of food or drink:)
Service took wayyyyyyy to long. They were out of the Ocean Blue drink. The cotton candy cosmopolitan was served warm.... the server completely spilled our drink all over the table and melted the cotton candy in my drink before it could be eaten. The Sugar Factory is wayyyyyy overrated.... the booths and tables looked as though it had not been cleaned in years. The bathrooms we’re filthy. Seriously save your money, for the amount you pay you could have an upscale dinner somewhere else. Customers BEWARE!!!
Went for my birthday and had an amazing experience! Our bartender David was awesome and made me and my party feel super comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this location just for David and his great service!
It was a horrible first experience my waiter ignored me and my fiancé food was cold food plates were still left on table when desert was brought out.. a terrible experience would never go again.
I made reservations for 6:30 that didn’t set me to 7 pm and took for ever to come take my order and got all of my kids order wrong with the deserts
Very fun and energetic atmosphere. Perfect for a celebration. The goblet drinks are awesome--make sure you share they are very strong.
Although over the top , the hamburgers are tasty.
Loved everything about it. The food was great. The service was great. I loved everything about it. The presentation that they give for Birthdays was excellent.
Was overcharged paid . Had to pay for a dish that came that wasn’t on my order and they refused to take it off. I will not be going back
Never again. Party of 3, one of a child (be advised - they do not have a kids menu). Waited 20 minutes past our reservation time. Ordered an appetizer, milkshakes, and entrees. Appetizer delivered cold and without a “complimentary” duck which we had to ask for (only cared because we had a child with us who wanted it). We were told our milkshakes “were coming.” They tried to deliver the wrong food to our table twice. When our food actually showed up, an hour after we ordered, it had an extra entree (a double of something we had ordered) and they tried to insist we had ordered it and we had to argue to have it sent back. Still no milkshakes. The waitress never came to check on us and never refilled our waters the entire night. Probably because she was too busy dancing every time it was someone’s birthday. We finished eating our cold food. Still no shakes. We finally get our waitress’s attention. We ask for the check and tell her to forget about the shakes. That takes another 20 minutes. She returns with one milkshake and says we won’t be charged for it. We ask about the other two milkshakes. She looks confused and goes “I forgot” (despite insisting to us for 2 hours that our milkshakes were coming). We tell her she can forget it and to bring the bill, if they’re even going to make us pay it. And bring the manager. She returns with the other two shakes and plastic cups “in case you want to take these with you” and brings the bill. Says the manager is “too busy in the back” to come out, but agreed to take the shakes off because the wait for them was so long. While we’re waiting for the card to come back, they try to bring yet another wrong dinner order to our table and the runner was just like “sorry. They’ve been giving me the wrong table numbers all night. I don’t know.” When we finally paid, two and half hours after arriving, the waitress stands over me and, when I look up, says she’s “just waiting on her tip.” Horrible to the end. Also, be warned, this place is LOUD
My birthday girl enjoyed herself, this was our 2nd visit and both visits were great. My family loves your location.
Thank you for the great time!
Everything was great. Staff is very friendly & fun!!
Good Food and Drinks! With excellent service! We had a great time and would like to visit again!
Our reservation was for 8:30pm, when we got there we were told we had several reservations ahead of us. If you're not there before the partying starts happening you will be waiting who knows how long to be seated because people do not leave once they get in there. I tried again the next day.
I had a 815 reservation and we went seated until 9. Poor service too.
My family & I had an incredible birthday celebration at Sugar Factory-Pentagon Mall! The staff are perfect!!
I love Sugar Factory restaurants around the country but this location lacks sanitation. Floors were dirty and sticky. Bathrooms were dirty and mats were on the floor blocking passage to the bathroom.
Talk about a bland environment, bland food, and the obnoxiously opposite of bland music- all for an astronomical fee. If you want low quality ingredients along with enough sugar type product to ensure your future relationship with diabetes, and some temporary hearing loss from illegal levels of music, while paying an astronomical check/cost, get your reservation for Sugar Factory. You won’t be disappointed, and your tween will truly feel special as she also loses her hearing while watching public relations snippets of low name celebrities and influencers. Truly, take your kid to Dave and Busters or better yet, check out Chuckie Cheese. The food there is cheap and they know it. They won’t charge you three times the price.
We came in on Wednesday and there were barely any customers but there were A LOT of employees. We were seated by the host and sat there for over 15 mins and no one came to greet us at all. A waitress came out of the kitchen door and signaled towards us with her head to another waiter who waited the table next to us. They both giggled and walked the opposite direction. Needless to say we walk out. A wait of time and it was my very first time there.
Food was great, service was great and we were celebrating my god daughters birthday and she loved it. Thanks a lot
The entire place seemed dirty...not in a nice "diner" type vibe, but just not clean. The AC was broken, 1/4 of the place was flooded from a pillar that was actively leaking, the menu pages were stuck together and tables were still sticky. I understand things break, but the lack of cleanliness is not acceptable given the price point. The food was good and the deserts were good though. The service was slow and the waitress missed part of the order but atleast we weren't charged for something we didn't get.
I would recommend a friend to visit a different location. This is my second time visiting this one and regret going back. The hostess seemed very ditzy. There were 3 tables open for my and my guest and we still had to wait EVEN WHEN I HAD A RESERVATION. Our waiter Marcus made it a little more enjoyable but that’s it for me coming back. It’s overrated at this point.
2nd time there and overall wasn’t happy. Food was good & service was not. Set reservation to sit outside. Was told by hostess that they weren’t seating outside. Right after we sat inside, someone else was seating outside. Over 20min to be greeted by waitress & about the same amount of time to ask for water & our check. Overall, not somewhere I’d come back to.
