Sundown at Granada

It was our first time dining with Sundown. It was also a nice time to get out and partake in brunch.
We went to watch the film on the rooftop. It started a half hour late. Prior to that, I was berated by the waitress for accidentally coming up the back stairs (there was no sign and I parked in the back). Apparently, I was meant to be a mind reader and check in downstairs. She was annoying, but the food was lovely. If you’re going to be on the rooftop, bring bug spray.
We recommend this restaurant. Good food for a good price and the service is awesome.
Moreover, all the bands we saw there playing were outstanding.
Loved the atmosphere - young people and great music. We had our choice of where to sit and chose patio. The road and other customers made it moderately loud, but not too bad. Loved the burger!! Was disappointed in the flatbread (soggy). Drinks were AMAZING! Somehow the bill ended up being pretty high about $100 for just 2 people with 1-2 drinks (on HH), shared apps and small entrees. I’ll be back for sure, but will be more conscious of the price!
The food was great and so was the service. They kept everything clean and sanitary.
Our server continuously ignored us. After 50 minutes, we had only had one drink and hadn’t gotten an opportunity to order. The manager had to keep checking on us, and even that service was slow. I’d venture to say that this is the worst service I’ve had in Dallas.
Always a great spot - friendly staff, attentive service, delicious food and a great patio/rooftop. Glad to have Sundown back open!
Sundown at Granada has a really nice upstairs patio. They have misters and shade to keep you cool in the hot Texas day. The sunset was gorgeous.
2 great meals and a pitcher of mimosas split the bill for $20 each (not including tip) I consider that a great price for our experience. Our waitress was really nice as well.
First time visiting a couple of weeks ago and will definitely go back. Went for brunch. Server was nice. Patio area was perfect for distancing. Food and mimosas were delish. Can't beat $9 carafes.
Sundown is located in the Northwest Dallas SMU area. It was my first time there and I can say the service and food was great. I order the Big Tex Flatbread pizza and the mac n cheese was great. The waitress made sure the drinks kept coming. Can't wait to go back. Parking is located on the side and behind the restaurant and it's free. That put the icing on the cake for me. :) They have a rooftop area also along with a bar upstairs.
We went for Sundown and Granada's Wednesday movie night. The food was good but the mixed drinks were weak and not well made. Even at half price for whiskey, the charge per drink was high. Also, the sound of the movie was often drowed out by the boom from music somewhere nearby.
All in all, we'll probably go again, but I hope they figure out how to set the movie sound right and learn to mix drinks properly.
Hi John, Thanks for the feedback and we're happy to hear you plan on joining us again soon! We'll definitely make sure we get a better mix upstairs for the movie nights, and we'll make sure our bartenders are serving high quality drinks. Thanks again John!
Service and drinks were good. However, the food was terrible.
Hi Chris, Happy to hear you enjoyed the service and drinks! Very sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the food, can you let me know what dishes you had?
The patio provided a great Sunday brunch spot and the mimosas were unbeatable for the price.
Fun menu and delicious food! Had dinner before the concert next door. It was pretty loud and the server seemed a little overcommitted. But in general, great experience and we will be back!
Great service, they have complimentary valet (which is so convenient). My party was attending the concert next door at the Granada Theatre afterward and they have a "dine and skip the line" perk for eating at the restaurant the night of. We were able to skip the long line of concert-goers and be let inside a few minutes earlier. They scanned our tickets and checked our ids before even leaving our table. The food and drinks were great too (especially with happy hour prices).
Had reservations for my wife's birthday and when we got there we were told we couldn't get in because some talk estate company have ther restaurant until 8:30. Why were we allowed to set reservations?
The food and ambience was good but our service was terrible. It was a Sunday evening and not packed yet our drinks were constantly empty and we had to continuously ask to have them filled. She didn’t come by frequently, so we went most of the dinner without drinks.
The waitress made our Valentine's Day dinner so special! The food was absolutely delicious.
Amazing staff. The waitress even recommended some cool places to visit while in town.
Amazing buffalo macaroni and cheese , and great customer service, a little too lound
It was early in the night no one was there, had Valentine reservation.
Food was cold. ! May have tasted better if warm.
The food and drinks were great, the service was friendly and efficient, and the show later in the evening was fantastic. This is a great love music venue for smaller crowds, and everyone working there was really friendly. I’m already looking forward to going back.
Great vegetarian food options and fantastic service. Enjoyed the cocktails and food before enjoying some fantastic live music. Really felt like they wanted us to have a great experience.
Our server was AMAZING as was the food. Love Sundown at Granada. And bonus -they have lots of Gluten Free options.
Great place to go before a show at the Granada Theater!
Excellent spot for a group of friends - something for everyone! Excellent service, very accommodating for those with special diets.
Brunch was great and amazing prices! Server was a little slow but overall good experience - I will be back
Awesome place to hang out on a a Friday night. Food was
great and many options to choose from.
Great food and service
Went with a group for dinner and to see a band play. Food was delicious, and our waitress was very helpful and friendly!
First time here, love the scene and the location was not difficult. Parking was great due to the time I came during the day on a Saturday. Mimosas ARE DELICIOUS! Great brunch pricing, get the carafe so much better than by the glass. You truly do not need the juice! Food was good, large portions for brunch. I had the brisket tacos with sweet potato hash. Will be coming here again.
We enjoyed the ambiance pre-live music. Once the live music starts, it becomes very hard to hear one another. The menu offerings are interesting, with options for all diets. I had the mahi-mahi tacos, husband had the short ribs, both were excellent. A good craft beer and wine selection, too. Server was very friendly and attentive. We will be back.
We elected to sit way in the back by ourselves so it was easier to talk. Because of that, it took a while to get waited on.
The food was amazing and delicious. Will come again!
