Sushi Bar Atariya
Excellent quality of fish. Good value. I go regularly
Food was amazing, special mention of the o-toro and uni! The o-toro was melt in the mouth and pretty unbeatable price for the quality of the sushi and sashimi.
Service was quick and staff were friendly, the only qualm I had were the proximity of neighbouring customers. Tables were a little too close but for a small restaurant it’s pretty inevitable I guess.
Would definitely come time and time again!!
We went for a lunch before the theatre and they have a great lunch deal although we went a la carte. A good selection of items and very attentive service. I would say overall the cost is really reasonable, although there is the odd item that seems a bit expensive (e.g. prawn tempura). That said it is a great local sushi bar that I would recommend.
Best Japanese restaurant in London!
I was a little disappointed. After a few months break I cane back to my, so far favourite sushi bar in London and the quality of the food just wasn’t the same. Fatty tuna maki had chunks of fat impossible to chew, that’s not what toro should be. I wasn’t as impressed as i usually am and will at this point I think the place is overpriced for what it is: tiny, slightly too tiny place, not in central location, lacking ambience... food was what I used to go for but now... not too sure.
The sashimi was really fresh and the grilled mackerel was tasty too. Worth going to as a place to catchup without needing to shout across the table, and over a quality food.
Food always great here. The waiting team are helpful too.
The Aburi Wagyu Sushi and Black Cod Miso both just melt in your mouth, so delicious! All the dishes were great and staff were very friendly with quick service!
Since new management takeover has really gone down hill. Food even more chilled than before. Sadly as I’m a local, I’d say go elsewhere
Very good staff and range of dishes. Staff helpful with meal choices. The only point is that they should make the 1.5 hour booking policy more prominent. W
You’re very lucky to have this sushi bar as a local. It’s the best sushi bar in the area. The fish is amazing and always renewing the menu. It’s a keeper!
One of the best sushi place in london! Definitely will go back again.
Excellent meal, good service and impressed that the owner stopped us as we were leaving and requested our feedback
Our grandchildren age 10 and 8 love this place !
Best value for high quality sushis in London. Period.
We have been coming here at least once a year and are never disappointed, the food quality is impeccable and service attentive.
The best sushi in London. Exceptional quality
Excellent Sashimi lunch, generous and very fresh. Staff helpful and friendly.
Always consistent great food & service. Has been my favorite Japaneses place for the past 12 years.
This is our new “Go To” regular spot for dining!! Delicious & quick service!!
This is our local sushi bar and it never fails to impress. The food is amazing, fresh and the service is prompt and courteous. Always packed with diners and with lots of Japanese too! If they could only deliver!🙂
Absolutely amazing Japanese food!!
Food was good, and whilst the service was generally good and efficient, it was quite intrusive. We had several waitresses standing over us as we ate thoughout the evening - literally 1metre away from our table. The instant we finished a dish, the plate would be taken off us which made us feel uncomfortable and rushed - as though they wanted us to finish quickly. This was not a particularly enjoyable experience. The lady manager did not appear too friendly either, especially to her staff. No smiles. The portion sizes were also a little on the small side given the higher prices compared to most other Japanese restaurants but the quality was not bad but no better than other popular Japanese restaurants in north London. The sushi was fresh and tasted good as one would expect but the spinach was not particularly good. It seemed like they only boiled it then drenched it with nothing but soy sauce. One waitress accidentally smashed a glass on the floor inches from me and staining my coat and trousers. We had to ask for the bill several times as the waitress kept forgetting. On leaving the restaurant there was no acknowledgement, no thank you or good bye, despite paying the optional 12.5% service charge. We would normally give a tip but did not on this occasion due to the experience. Overall, I think the quality is not bad, on par with other restaurants in North London but the value was poorer than other restaurants. There was very few hot rice or noodle options available on the menu. The restaurant decor was clean, modern and comfortable and parking was also good after 1830 on a weekday.
It was my husband birthday and we went to this cozy restaurant. The food overall are not bad, but when we ordered a foie gras rice, the sweet soy sauce and oil are too much in the rice. The sauce as much as soup, 90% of rice are soaked into the sauce and it was super oily. We told the waitress about it and she has no response. So i asked if i can have a bit more rice to mix it to make it not that wet and oily. At last we find that the rice we ordered at was charge and i am quite disappointed. When the waitress asked me is everything okay, I told her i am disappointed with your service as i expect you will give me the rice for free as i told you i ordered it because the sauce is too much. She answered like if u want it for free, you should tell me before the bill checked, i can’t do it again for you now. I actually don’t mean to have a free £2.4 rice, what I expected is you know it is your problem but not my problem. The waitress’s reply made me angry and totally ruined my husband’s birthday.
I’ve been a fan for years, best sushi quality in town. I actually would say it’s better than in Tokyo, tried it all, this place is absolutely the best.
Very good quality food and very good service from the staff.
Unfortunately we couldn't stay any longer than we did (one hour and a half) because other people needed our table which had been reserved, which is completely understandable.
Other than that it was a very good experience, definitely would recommend and would return.
It's a bit difficult to give a full rating for this restaurant. I ordered a deluxe chirashi, and the quality of the fish was very good. It was only after I left and had a look at the menu again did I realise that I was not given all of the fish listed for deluxe chirashi on the menu. The menu lists that there should be a piece of eel, but my bowl did not contain any eel. Given the expensive price of the deluxe version - around £7 more than the non-deluxe version - I would not expect to have any menu-listed items left off. Thus I am really disappointed.
Love this place! Great food, and great service. We made a booking for 6 people and they gave us the private room upstairs which was so nice.
Truly awful. We arrived fifteen minutes early for a seven thirty booking and it was clear that we were a pain and not welcome. We were sat down at the bar, which is fine, but were not offered a drink, which is not.
Finally showed to our table, fifteen minutes later and well past the time of our booking, no one had spoken to us and we still didn’t even have a drink. We of course left.
On the plus side there are plenty of other places to eat in Hampstead.
Fantastic quality of the food. It's really recommended to book!
Excellent selection of Japanese sushi cuisine. courteous service. Food came so fast that we were in and out in an hour - not a place for leisurely dining, but great place to eat.
The restaurant was filthy. Sauce marks splashed against the walls, dirty chairs and generally gave a dirty feel. Will not go back
