Delicious sushi, English language menu, friendly atmosphere
We went there for our third anniversary. We both ordered Chirashi. The taste was amazing. I especially loved the otoro and urchin.
Sat at the counter and had a wonderful time eating and chatting with the head chef
Welcoming, kind, and attentive service throughout the meal. Entertained my questions and were careful to ask about any allergies to accommodate. Lovely space though a little hidden beneath the storefronts in Ginza.
I had the set sushi menu with the sake pairing and enjoyed both the multi course meal and the numerous sakes I got to try. The service was very good and the sushi chef was very friendly and welcoming. The noise level was louder than I expected, as the noise seemed to amplify in the small space. The quality of every course was very good and the chef was great to explain the ingredients and even talk about the history, seasonality, and sourcing. Definitely get the sake pairing with your meal, every bottle is presented and comes in a different little sake glass. Given the energetic nature of the restaurant, this would be a good place for a small group, but may be too loud if you're looking for something quieter or more romantic.
Some of the best sushi and hospitality I’ve ever experienced. Hope to return!
It’s a wonderful space. I really enjoyed their service a great deal. Amazing Japanese creative cuisine and fresh, seasonal fine ingredients.
It was our first wedding anniversary. Food was very special and service started well but as more guests arrived we got forgotten & rushed. Courses were presented before the previous were finished and with little or no explanation. With a very high price tag (£374 for 2 people with a bottle of wine) we would have expected exceptional service & time to enjoy what was very good food beautifully presented.
Great potential.
Came with 8 members of my family. Restaurant a bit hard to find. They were very welcoming. Food was very good. This is a hidden gem in Ginza. Good value as well at lunch.
Went for the omakase with sake pairing and it was amazing. The service was fantastic and noise level was great. There is a bar and a few booths. We are on our honeymoon and were sat in a booth. The waiter spoke enough English to answer any questions and tell us about every course. The sake was amazing. Highly recommend. Location is underground, so don't walk past it.
There are a few tables in this quiet sushi restaurant, but the counter is the place to be. The menu offers a la carte choices, I think, but I ordered the course menus both times I've eaten here. And of course, the sake pairing. Both the omakase and the sake pairing are excellent, and good values for the quality. I will definitely recommend Takaya, and will definitely plan on eating here again.
This is my second time here everything is as I have wished for. The price is very reasonable and they do change their omakase menu from time to time and it’s always different menu when we go. English speaking chef is a plus when it comes to omakase dining, you get to know alot more about your food.
Amazing authentic Japanese cuisine
Amazing Omakase dinner. Excellent service and the sushi was outstanding. Chef was very friendly and engaging and you can tell he was trying to understand everyone’s palate to make it an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend checking this place out.
Amazing omakase experience. Saki paired with each course perfectly. Best meal ever!
Gran servicio. Menu exquisiti
Very creative food. It was definitively not just a dinner but an event! Very friendly service. It is worth to take your place at the bar in stead of sitting at the table. So you can chat to the chef and it is a part of an experience. The price was a bit high but we did not regret paying it.
This is the most amasibg and the best Omakase restaurant I have ever been to. Absolutely fantastic in every way!!! My wife and I had the most delicious lunch during our recent trip to Japan. We arrived late -because the restaurant is hard to find as it is in a basement- but they kept our reservation and everyone was corteous and very kind. We had the sushi bar and the magnificent chef all for ourselves!!
Outstanding omakase meal
It is worth splurging on a really great meal in Tokyo if you can afford it, and Sushi Takaya is one of the few really great sushi places available through OpenTable. We had an incredible experience here, one worth every penny.
We arrived for an early seating and were warmly greeted by the host and sushi chef. Selected the Omakase option - what a treat. Chef graciously spoke English and explained every piece of fish and accompaniment. You simply have not had sushi until you done so in Japan, and Kutani is a showcase for the art. Our selections were quite amazing, and we felt welcomed throughout. Quite a treat.
I had a birthday meal with my family and had a really good time. All the staffs are friendly and their hospitality is perfect. Of course its Sushi is the best in Tokyo.
Excellent experience. The sake pairing option is highly recommended
We had a fabulous experience at Sushi Kutani! On our recent visit to Tokyo we decided to have one fancy dinner and found Sushi Kutani through OpenTable. We tried the omakase dinner and were not disappointed! The service is thoughtful, paced well, and everything was beautifully presented as well as delicious. It was easily one of the best dinners of our lives, and certainly the best sushi we've ever had. I'd recommend Sushi Kutani to anyone.
chief could speak English and have a good communication with customer. Food is good, price is 39744 Japanese Yuan for two adults and one child; only three table customers
Cena molto bella in coppia. Abbiamo provato entrambi i menù e siamo stati molto soddisfatti. Complimenti agli chef!
We had a lovely lunch at Sushi Kutani. The food was delicious and very fresh. The service was great. We felt that the price was fair. I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch.
We were visiting from California and found this hidden gem. It was around 3:00 PM so it was quiet, we were the only guests. The sushi and the chef were fantastic. I think I will remember this meal for a long time.
Great! Food was excellent.
Great place and food fantastic created just in front of you !
My wife and I ate at Sushi Kutani while on vacation in Tokyo as a night out in Ginza. We wanted to try a higher-end, omakase sushi experience and Sushi Kutani made online reservations easy.
The restaurant is very understated but delivered a great experience! The main dining room and sushi bar is rather small, but not cramped. The hostess greeted us warmly when we entered and the entire wait staff was attentive throughout the meal. Chef Takahashi explained each item to us throughout the meal and was nice to talk to.
The food was great; delivering a wide variety of flavors and textures. Some interesting highlights from our visit included the uni, shark skin, and shrimp head. We left feeling very full and satisfied!
All around a fabulous dining experience. Don’t walk, run there!
Excellent! One of my guests was a vegetarian and the chef was able to accommodate with a great assortment of vegetarian sushi.
Amazing service in a very exclusive atmosphere. Omakase was exciting and everything tastes delicious.
The staff were very accommodating for the both of us, first time visitors to Tokyo, who were new to such an intimate dining experience. The set course menu was delicious, each piece was carefully crafted and delightfully presented.
