SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden
Bold in design, SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden offers a host of inviting dining and drinking experiences: from the bar with its ‘living ceiling’; the exposed kitchen and high energy sushi bar to the terrace overlooking the square below and the private dining room with its own entrance and terrace.
Absolutely beautiful food, wonderful flavours and extremely fresh.
Service impeccable, lovely ambiance. Will definitely return.
The food is excellent. Samba Salad, Lobster Tacos very tasty.
Well the good news is that the food is excellent. Really tasty and good sized portions and in my view reasonably prices. The other good news is that they do have some people who can address a problem when it comes up.
The bad news is that Service that evening was probably some of the worst I have experienced in London. I had no idea who was supposed to be serving us and trying to actually get anything ordered was like trying to flag down a passing jumbo jet. Maybe it was where we were sat, right in the middle of the restaurant, but no one seemed to actually be covering our section. When the food finally turned up it came out in dribs and drabs and very slowly. Our main dishes took 40 mins and when they arrived we were told that it usually takes 20, but that would have been good information 40 mins earlier. One of the servers needs to be sacked immediately. After dropping off our food, I pointed out we would need cutlery for a curry (chop sticks don't cut it) and his smirking arrogance nearly had me walking out. At that moment Paolo appeared and asked how things were going. I was pretty straight with her about it being the worst service experience in a long time. She was excellent about sorting things out and removing any service charge. None of it was her fault and she did her best to fix it.
I suspect that the issue is just that this is just a chain restaurant. None of the staff (beside Paolo) actually care about your meal or experience.
I loved the food, but I am not sure I would go back, unless I read that service has picked up and people actually care that you are choosing to spend money with them.
food was amazing, small portions
The venue is better than I expected from what it looks like outside. Art installation on the staircase is impressive. Really good cocktails, amazing food, lovely music, staff very attentive and friendly.
Recommended and will come back
Really nice place to eat. Worst thing was the manager who expected eight of us to leave after 1:50 mins she came to the table several times to remind us they needed the table and that 2 hours was up soon. We reminded her that we could only eat firstly as fast as the food was served but more importantly we reminded her that on the booking it’s says parties of 7 or more the time was 2 hours 30 mins for the booking. It was a try on we didn’t appreciate I could believe her when she said she would check that out. She never came back !!! Sadly for us it wasted when was a lovely place to eat.
We had a lovely meal tonight. Food was fresh and creative. We were well looked after by staffs. Nice decor will definitely back.
Food was amazing and service friendly and efficient!
Had to wait 35 min at the bar for our table te be cleared.
No problem, but the bar was really busy and it took 25 min to get a drink...
Food was Lovely!
Lovely evening. More suitable for our group which included teenagers than the City venue. Great feel, delicious food and efficient, non obtrusive service. It’s an expensive venue, but certainly worth it.
The food is excellent: tasty; well displayed; colouful.
The staff are well trained and helpful.
It is a comfortable environment ie you are seated far enough away from other diners so that you don't hear other conversations.
The decorative ambiance is eclectic and fits the idea of the blending of Japanese and South American cultures.
I was introduced by a friend. Now I've introduced other friends and I think they will continue the passing on of a wonderful taste experience. I can't wait to come back for another meal!
The food, especially the Neo Tokyo roll and the Churrasco Rio Grande were fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful, but very loud. It was a nice place to celebrate my son’s birthday on a weekend trip to London.
Sushi Samba is a fantastic restaurant set in the heart of Covent Garden. The decor is outstanding and the food is outstanding. However, the whole experience is let down by the service. We started by ordering 3 dishes which were served to us over the course of an hour 20. We then tried to order some more food but got passed from waiter to waiter before we could order. We ordered two more dishes and waited 20 minutes to be told they'd run out of Kobe beef. While I appreciate this can happen, why did it take so long for us to be told? We then waited for another good 40minutes for one dish to be prepared. During this time we asked for more drinks 3 times and again, were passed from staff member to staff member. We finally got our drinks as we'd finished the meal which is a joke. When the bill came no one asked if we had any problems and just instantly stuck the service charge on without question. This service is not what you'd expect for such a high-end restaurant and I was really disappointed. This level of service soured the whole experience.
El gerente es muy maleducado pero el sitio y camareros perfecto
Very good and creative food, great service team, very good atmosphere
Disappointed - promised so much from the decor and surroundings failed to deliver on the quality and taste of the food both of which were poor.
Sushi Samba in Covent Garden is in a great location offering option to dine outside as well. The interior is very well curated and drinks are amazing. Food is good and there's a good choice of taquitos. Quite expensive tho.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Very good and would recommend
This restaurant is expensive but the quality and imaginative food makes it worth while. My guests are always blown away.
We went for my mother's birthday treat and it was perfect. Delicious food beautifully presented and really helpful and friendly staff. Setting was amazing too.
Great service. Really nice place.
Excellent service, amazing food
Fabulous! This was our second visit to the Covent Garden SS and we loved it as much as our first visit 6 months previously. It’s a little pricey but you get what you pay for. This is now our favourite sushi restaurant in London. Please keep up the good work!
Have been to Sushisamba a number of times, sadly this was the last, bad food with lots of sugar in the sauces, not the standard to be expected, service was adhoc and definitely not as expected. Even the cocktails were bad. Sorry I chose it for last night.
Not as good as our last visit. Wasn’t busy but poor service & interaction
We didn’t like the main with cheese, not very nice at all, spoilt the whole meal
The food was ok - I was expecting so much more from a sushi restaurant. The portions were quite small and the bill was so expensive for what we had. We were still hungry when we left the restaurant.
The menu does not have a proper rich offer as I was expecting for. Quite a shame for the food offer considering that it was much more better before.
We ended up to move our empty dishes on the table close to us because waiters did not do it, or did too late.
I am so pleased this place has the same quality, of everything, like the original SS in the City. The decor is very unique, the service is attentive and friendly and the food is spectacular. This is my new favourite place in Covent Garden.
I book a table with 3 weeks in advance for my friend’s birthay specifying for a nice and well located table. My surprise was that we have to wait and they give to us a table at the back and we were next to the toilets.
Great place with sexy food. Great architecture. Excellent Service.
Excellent food, terrible service. Actually the worst service I’ve had in a London restaurant!
Amazing place. Service good. Food absolutely lovely. Nice treat. Try the Mae Terre
Super environment and food
Not worth the hype. Food was fresh and delicious, service was sub-optimal and the espresso martini inspired cocktail tasted like dirty water. Overpriced for what it was.
Met my daughter for a treat (she is a vegan Coeliac so not always easy to find a good place), when I got to the reception desk no one was there, then got shown to a table which couldn’t have been further away from the door! When we eventually got served they forgot our drinks, didn’t get the order quite right and then tried to charge 13.5% service automatically!
The food was pretty average although the ambience and restaurant nice it wasn’t worth the money. Sadly, the staff appear to be doing anything but putting the customers needs first.
Had a great experience at SUSHISAMBA, nice staff and great food/drinks.
Excellent service, amazing food
Food was great especially Rio Grande steak and the various ceviches and toro tartare. Appetizers of green bean tempura and Kobe bun was excellent.
Incredible dining experience - great food and lovely staff, not to mention a gorgeous restaurant!
