Our local community and suppliers have been hit hard by Covid, so we wanted to create a new food and drink offering that draws solely on the surrounding area. Our (also local) Head Chef Adam Sear has created a food offering that not only draws from the seasonal bounty of this beautiful part of the country, but celebrates and elevates it.

As always thoroughly enjoyable dining and drinking experience. Good food, good and friendly service and comfortable ambience. Highly recommended.
Sussex Pass is an excellent restaurant on Wadhurst High Street. Delicious food and great service
Ate from lunch menu- good vegetarian /vegan option.
Sunny day so sat outside at front as my partner is a smoker and no smoking allowed in garden at rear of pub.
Good quality and good for a treat.
Good menu selection and good range of beers. Cosy and clean inside with good amount of outdoor seating too.
Went for Sunday lunch - Food was great but we had not realised that the chicken/ beef roasts (plus steaks) needed to be ordered in advance and the only immediate option was Turkey. This was slightly disappointing as not really our meat of choice and due to work on the kitchen at home had been very much looking forward to all having a roast lunch.
The monkfish however was fab as were the veg that accompanied the turkey.
The millefeuille was gorgeous.
A great selection of local gins too!
Good and interesting food. The menu and wine list are imaginative.
A very useful addition to Wadhurst which previously has never had a decent restaurant.
Difficult to find as there appears to be no mention of Sussex Pass outside the pub. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented and excellent quality. The staff couldn't be more charming. Personally I would have preferred no music which I found a bit intrusive. Overall very good.
Great service and food as always. Highly recommend the Lamb Chops. The range of local gins is fantastic too.
Excellent, fresh food - prepared to near perfection. Great service and the quality of the cuisine made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Top London standards coupled with affordability and affability. Just had to rebook there and then.
Absolutely delightful meal at The Sussex Pass. Our Lemon Sole & Samphire and Monk Fish & Chicken cassoulet were so delicious.
Deserts were wonderful too. Such great little touches, fancy hand sanitiser on the table, lovely candles, glug jugs for water, little touches which made us feel really spoilt.
Well done all of the Sussex pass team, after knock back after knock back due to covid, you’re still delivering wonderful food, service and ambience. All credit to your hard work. Can’t wait to return.
The staff were lovely and the food really good, but we did think it was quite expensive for fish and chips.
A great pub with lovely food, quick and thoughtful service, feels very safe
The most welcoming pub, now with a gorgeous outside dining area. Had THE BEST Sunday lunch - roast beef - sat outside in the sunshine. The perfect Sunday afternoon! Couldn’t recommend this place more. You cannot fault their food and it’s exceptionally high standard. We will definitely be returning as often as we can!
Really lovely, grandparents were super happy and said they’d love to go back.
Amazing food and service, lovely setting with heaters outside highly recommended
Had read about the Sussex Pass in the Muddy Stilettos email, so thought we would give it a try. Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Only downside was that the tables were a little too close together so felt we were sitting on top of each other, but I understand they want to fit maximum capacity in the limited space. Lovely place and will definitely come back when they are fully open to try the larger menu
I didn’t get their names but the two front of house girls who worked Thursday evening were so lovely and deserve a shoutout! Brill service
Great steak, friendly staff - and wonderful gin & tonic! Lovely catch up with friends and family.
A great easy Sussex village pub in the centre of wadhurst.
Good parking and space outside for the better weather.
Great food and staff are helpful and friendly.
A good place for a Sunday roast as well as an evening meal out.
Some non alcoholic drinks available for the designated driving people.
Lovely village pub. Fantastic food. Even though we were warned that there were minimal kitchen staff on that day they were still quick to serve and the food was really tasty. I'd highly recommend the mushroom pappardelle.
Will definately go back as food and service were spectacular but won't go on a Friday again as the bar was so busy and exceptionally noisy as the tables are in the bar area.
Not an amazing choice on menu for our Sunday lunch! It was very noisy in the restaurant area, over all would not rush to go again!
Lovely little village pub with amazing food. The Sunday roasts (I had beef and my partner had chicken) were both stunning. Great selection of vegetables, meat perfectly cooked, crispy roast potatoes and they absolutely nailed the Yorkshire pudding! Great selection of wine too. Highly recommended. Didn’t have any kids with us, but worth noting that on Sundays kids eat free!
Excellent food and quite kid friendly. Would definitely go again.
Quite simply superb, what comes out of the kitchen at this place is significantly above and beyond what you would expect. I am local and the White Hart is my go to place time and time again as the menu is always changing with chef trying new ideas and ingredients and the service is always excellent. Ok it was quite noisy the last time I went but this a pub and the conversation just adds to the buzz.
Lovely steak frites and rocket salad - simple and tasty.
Of the 3 meals, 2 were 'OK'. The third, fish and chips, was just terrible; dry and inedible fish and bad chips. It is hard to understand how any chef could allow such food to leave the kitchen. The cost of this meal was deducted from the bill.
Lovely meal. Couldn't fault it. Wod recommend
Great meal, impromptu meet up with friends. Lovely social evening.
excellent evening. Food was lovely and not over expensive. Service also very friendly and on the ball. would go again when next in the area
Friendly atmosphere, good food and pleasant service
We went on Friday night for a family night, the food was very good, a little bit limited but fresh and tasty.
The rose wine was outstanding, only the service was very slow...but was a Love experience.
I was surprised at how quiet the pub and dining area were for a Saturday night... especially given how good the food was.
Halibut with gnocchi in particular was a real treat. Compliments to the chef!
This is my local so I am really pleased to have this on my doorstep. Excellent food and I mean excellent, this is so far above just being pub grub, friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
The food was freshly made and delicious. Service was good and the staff were very friendly. The ambiance was gastro pub like and rustic but not pretentious.
Really would recommend.
Lovely Sunday roast, great value for money
Really tasty food at a good price. We had Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend The White Hart for Sunday lunch.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the service was very good and the food was really lovely. I would recommend anyone to go there to eat in a really great pub.
Great service, food and ambience. We all enjoyed it. Well done.
Good hot food in very pleasant surroundindings. Welcoming staff.
