I am a frequent traveler to London and enjoy sampling the various eateries whilst visiting. On my most recent trip, I dined at Suvlacki twice, and will certainly return again upon my next visit. Food is exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. In particular, the Chicken Kebab is spectacular -- nice light char for the real wood grill, flavorful without being over seasoned and incredibly tender and moist. Spicy Prawn Croquettes and Vegetarian Moussaka were also standouts. Only two drawbacks: seating is quite tight, and one evening when I was visiting with a colleague it was so unbelievably loud we had a difficult time talking, despite sitting quite close to one another.
Great experience. Always take my friends there and would recommend to anyone. Especially great if you are looking for authentic Greek food- it really is, unlike some other restaurants that claim to be.
Gob smacking food quality. Having travelled to nine islands in Greece, this is the finest example of good Greek cuisine. I highly recommend this fun tapas take on Grecian dining.
Really tasty food, London prices, efficient service, was my first time in a Greek restaurant and they made it great.
Lovely food, staff friendly, ambience perfect
Great welcome, great food great service, great atmosphere and ambiance as value for money.
Had a great meal with lovely waiting staff. The best dishes were the baked feta (divine) and the courgette fritters. Plus pretty much everything else we ate. Highly recommended.
Great place if you are looking for authentic Greek food with a modern twist.
Very nice food and mainly excellent customer service.
We tried a selection of dishes between the 5 of us, and they were all delicious, especially the lamb. The house wine was perfect for lunch time - light, but still full of flavour.
Food is tasty, but very small portions for the prices charged.
The quality of the food was good but the price was far too high, considering also the quantity per dish. The table space was small, and the noise level unpleasantly high.
Love love love it. Excellent food and the sweetest service staff. Thank you :))) Order the lamb chops and spinach samosas!!!!
One of the very few good Greek food restaurants in UK
Food was lovely but restaurant was let down by the terrible service. Our waiter was moody, he didn't seem to want to even be there and looked miserable. The menu was not explained to us, nor did he check to see if we were happy with the food. Then was promptly told we had 10 mins left before they wanted our table back. The venue is very small, be prepared to be seated at tiny tables, virtually on top of the next table.
I think some of the other waiting staff seemed quite pleasant, so maybe we would have had a difference experience, had we have had someone else serving us.
Wont be returning, it's a shame as the food was really nice & I love Greek food.
I love this place but I was so disappointed this time! Some of my boyfriends chicken was pink inside and therefore but him off his meal. It took ages before the waitre came back to us and when we told him about it he didn’t apologise he just asked if we wanted more!? We asked for the bill, which we paid in full and left feeling disappointed
We loved it! The food was delicious - amongst the 2 of us we shared 5 dishes from the menu. The staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed. As lovely as it was to have the restaurant to ourselves, I can't understand how this place is not packed. Authentic delicious Greek food without having to take a flight. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Very nice place. The food is amazing. But the tables are a bit small. The food comes very fast, it would be nicer if you would have more time between all the small dishes.
Amazing place with great food. Service is a bit slow but overall a great experience
Lovely food. Really helpful staff and very fast service! The restaurant itself is very small so does feel quite crammed and the tables are all very close to each other but it is definitely worth it for the very authentic delicious food.
Absolutely loved it! The food was excellent and the service just superb :)
I really liked the Suvlaki Shoreditch branch, hence decided to give the Soho branch a try. The menu was more or less the same, however the dining experience in Soho was sub-par. The waiting time for food is very long, which we suspected was because of the delivery service. The restaurant should consider putting a halt on receiving online order during peak hour if the kitchen cannot keep up with the demand. We spent so much time waiting for the food to arrive, we basically filled ourselves up with water. Also, there seems to be a communication problem between the waiting staff and the kitchen staff because we keep hearing both sides bickering as we sit right in front of the kitchen. Just wasn't a pleasant experience at all.
Always great there.
My favourite Greek restaurant in town.
I like the fresh food, the cosy feeling, reasonable pricing and the quick service!
Cute, cosy restaurant in soho. The manager Irene is a wonderful host and very friendly. The food is delicious. We loved the Mount Olympus Wild Boar Wrap so much that we ordered 2. Lovely greek food overall and nice Greek twist to some of the desserts. If you're craving Greek food give this place a go.
I picked Suvlaki for a casual business meal with a client at lunch time. The restaurant was empty and therefore fairly quiet which made it easy to have a conversation with my client. The food, served in tapas style, was awesome and I will definitely visit the restaurant again.
The food was good, and often very pretty on the plate! Staff are lovely. The room itself is nicely designed, moody-casual. BUT it was VERY COLD in the restaurant. Everyone in the room was wearing their coats over their shoulders. Wrap up really well, or don't go - even away from the door this place is COLD.
Temperature aside, Suvlaki would be a good standard date location. You can get three small plates (about £5-£7 each) or a main (about £10-15) and a small plate as a starter - both are valid options that won't leave you stuffed. Boar and chicken mini wraps, courgette fritters, spinach samosas and pork orzo were all great - the baked feta looked really good too.
The food was lovely, very tasty although portions small. There were only two choices for Red Wine which were both extremely expensive. I think there should be more choice at a more affordable price.
Came to Suvlaki for my husband’s birthday. Service was great - walked in and was greeted by two staff who wished him a happy birthday. Their service was great, the food was phenomenal and I already can’t wait to visit again. The staff also brought my husband a tiramisu and sang happy birthday which was just so lovely. Unfortunately he doesn’t like tiramisu but I do and it was SO delicious! It’s a very small but restaurant but that adds to the intimacy of it ❤️
Not really what it used to be, lost the Greek touch. Issues with the booking and the food order.
Great artisan twist on classic Greek food, it’s tapas so predominantly sharing dishes. The wine we had was a very nice caraf of red.
It’s a small space, great for a meal for two.
Outstanding true greek food. Incredibly fresh. Felt I was in Athens a true gem!
simply the best Greek food. Try the moussaka and lamb chops! No...just try everything. Really good service and nice people too!
Very small restaurant with tables extremely close together. Felt more like a place where you go, eat and leave, not a place to linger or even enjoy a conversation. Food was OK but I'm afraid i didn't find it as tasty as some local west london Greek cafes i have eaten in. Also, all dishes served were lukewarm - I'm not sure if that is the way they were meant to be served or if it was because the food wasn't brought to our table quick enough.
It is a good place but not remarkable. I have been there a few times and the food quality was much better this last time.
Really enjoyed it , lovely food & freindly staff! Can’t wait to go back
Absolutely loved Suvlaki, a surprise ho good it was. Authentic, tasty food, great service and atmosphere. Will definitely go back! :)
Always consistently amazing. Great food, service and ambience
The place was cold due to the over egged air conditioning. We were told it was tapas dining and the food would be brought out when it was ready, but the pauses between the dishes meant we never actually got to enjoy any dishes together that should have complemented each other. There was more focus on the two chefs completing delivery orders then the happiness of its diners. The food itself was tasty, but the portions were very small for the price we paid. Dining on Greek food for me has always been a joyful experience with generous portions, Suvlaki is trying to elevate the cuisine to fine dining but doesn’t have the man power of better tapas restaurants (Barafina, Sabor) to see it through. We left dissappointed.
Great service and food. The mini wraps were particularly tasty.
