The food was good at Suvlaki, however the portions are really small. The decor was comfy and nice, however it is a little dark inside.
Could go back again and again
Very high prices for very smell portions, yes, I understand it is meant to be tapas style, but even for that - very disappointing. Food tasted fresh however, and you could tell was mostly home made. Wild boar sausage was very disappointing, tasted like a hot dog on a New York street corner, not what I would expect from the description on the menu. When I told the server, or two servers in fact, they shrugged their shoulders and walked off, didn’t offer to take it away. The Mousaka tasted purely off cinnamon, and seemed like it was a desert, it was so sweet. If I hadn’t paid 12 pound for it I would’ve sent it back., although after the wild boar sausage I didn’t think it was worth even trying. Wouldn’t recommend, as it is quite expensive for what you get, and there are much better places to eat in London
Fabulous food and great for vegetarian options - love this place!
Great fresh food , I like the decor and the friendly staff. Portions sizes could be improved and Greek salad should be improved. Lettuce does not belong in it and serving it in a ashtray sized plate is a bit over the top and those olives are not from Greece.
Very good food, freshly cooked with good service. We would definitely recommend.
This is a typically Shoreditch venue - cool, buzzy atmosphere, good food but incredibly expensive for what you get. At first glance it looks reasonably priced but then you're advised to order 3-5 dishes per person! The house wine was also nearly £30 a bottle. The food was nice, but I've definitely had better Greek food in London and without the price tag. With so many other choices nearby I don't think I'd go back.
Nice spot. Food was quite good. The spicy prawns and sausage suvlaki were great. A little pricey but nice romantic spot.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere. I had a needy group of 8 which were treated very well, all had an excellent time. Thank you
Tiny plates of underwhelming and overpriced food. Left hungry and disappointed.
Great place, lovely staff and friendly service. I felt it was a little bit pricy but I guess that's London! I'd definitely go back.
Greek salad had a lot of variety. Pork was cooked well, we ordered the skewers instead of the wraps. The taramasalata was a very different typical Greek/Cypriot dish, it tasted a bit cheesy and doesn't come as a dip as you might expect.
Lovely food and lively atmosphere. I'll definitely be back
Had a lovely dinner with my husband Saturday night. Would return for sure x
Fantastic restaurant. Delicious food, taking traditional Greek food and adding twists to each meal. You are constantly surprised with every bite. Lovely staff, very cosy. Make sure you book if you’re coming at the weekend, they were very busy, and I can see why. Hidden gem!
Great food and atmosphere
Tasty food and fantastic service. Perfect for a night out with friends or for an intimate dinner. Highly recommend
Superb. One of my favourite places.
Good choice of small plates of tasty Greek food, great for sharing.
Great for Greek tapas and Greek beers! Love the ambience of modern Greece
Amazing Greek food to share with your friends, lovely staff and great environment!
The food is great, what lets this place down is the riddiculous prices they charge for alchohlic beverages.
£7 for a small bottle of beer is not going to get us spending, we would have spent quite a lot on drinks if they were around £4 a bottle.
For this reason none of our group would return here.
Can't fault anything with this restaurant.
Lady who runs it - v nice
Lovely meal and good value. Staff were chsrming.
The food was absolutely great and perfect to share with friends or even on a date. Our waiter suggested what to order and all was equally delicious. Only downside it took a while to order dessert and getting our bill. I left my credit card in the restaurant and the manager to called me. Would definitely go again.
Firstly we were less than 5 mins late as we couldn't find the restaurant in the rain.
The restaurant marked us as not showing up which made us feel unwelcome.
I did tell the staff we had the booking so they showed us to the table and mumbled we have 1hr45mins for our table which again made us feel uncomfortable.
It wasn't the greeting or atmosphere we'd expected reading other reviews or after looking for it in the pouring rain for 20mins.
We ordered Chicken souvlaki, Pork wrap, Chicken wrap, Tzatziki, Mousaka- food portions are tiny and bill for the above come to an extortionate £50. Both myself and partner left hungry.
Simple inexpensive items like pitta bread or Greek salad or dips were all extras.
Even the Tzatziki arrived with one sad small pitta that had been quartered.
Disgusted and thoroughly disappointed.
Don't recommend. Much better quality more traditional and better value for money Greek food available in London.
Sadly suvlaki is all about the profit.
Really love this place, great atmosphere, good service, and above all great food.
We went there for our team Xmas dinner, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
The food was good and tasty overall, but quite pricey for what it is. Being Greek, I was particularly looking forward to having the souvlaki wrap with pita bread (which is the typical street food in Greece), and although the meat was good, the taste was overall bland. The whole experience was like upscaled street food/taverna food, so I wouldn't say it was good value for money.
Service was friendly and good.
A charming little haunt with an eccentric menu that was surprising but delicious! Great service and ambience. Somewhere I would definitely go again.
I went there with my significant other for his birthday. It was a surprise dinner and I asked to be seated at the naughty corner (for a lil more intimacy). They accepted my request so it started well. Then the food was really great: small portions to be shared, tasty, stunning flavours mix as well. The wine was good too (and as a French person I can be severe). At the end, we were too full to have a proper dessert but the staff brought a piece of cake with ice cream on side and a candle on top while singing happy birthday. That was adorable and, finally this sweet note was perfect (lemon / almond cake I believe).
Not overpriced and overall highly recommanded!
The food was very good at reasonable prices (more fine-dining portions than chain-restaurant). The octopus was delicious. A bit let down by the fact that our group of 8 had to squeeze into the space for 6 people (a row of three small tables) despite booking in advance.
I am a regular but hadn't been in a while. As always awesome food, great service in a lovely atmosphere. The new spicy prawn croquettes are amazing!
Excellent food and customer service! Wonderful tasty experience. Will be back!!
Great little place with lovely food and atmosphere! Would reccommend!
Lovely restaurant and staff and authentic Greek food ! Highly recommend
I honestly think that Suvlaki is the best restaurant in Shoreditch right now. Superb small dishes, super-friendly team and a lovely ambience. Everyone we take there loves it too - people from all over the globe!
Go now while you can still get a table...
Lovely meal, some brilliant & tasty dishes, thanks guys!
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious with good range and sized potions. Only thing was table by the door was a bit cold.
Amazing food , I can’t tell it’s sooo tasty.
Variety of options, amazing for vegan meals.
