I really enjoyed my time. We were early and were quickly givena table in the bar whilst we waited, it was very noisy there. Up the restaurant the ambience was much nicer. Fantastic staff, very attentive, polite, pleasant and intelligent. Best of all one of the staff gave me extra gravy!! Great!
We will return
Amazing food, wonderful service. Already booking my next visit.
Quite noisy when big parties are in the upstairs restaurant. Very good swift service.
It was my second time in this amazing place and the first one for my parents. They both said that it is a lovely restaurant with delicious food. The vibe is great, cool decor and the food is SO good. The unique thing that I don't really like is that depending on the table you are, you can be really close to the people in the next table. I like having my space, specially while eating. But apart from that, Swan is completely awesome. I have already recomend it to other people. I'll come back again, for sure.
Extraordinary experience. Loved everything including the wonderful view. We had a delicious meal of salmon starter with lamb entree, Veggie entree. The wine list by the glass was diverse and well thought out and the ones we choose were yummy.
The location is superb: a table overlooking the Thames, with St Paul's in the background cannot be beaten. The service and ambience are also great. However, the main course - confit of duck with cassoulet - not only failed to live up to just about every other version of this classic dish that I have eaten elsewhere, but it came with so much salt that it was quite literally inedible. When he collected my plate and saw the amount I had left, the waiter said other people had also said it was too salty. Why then did they continue to serve it? Did no-one in the kitchen taste this dish? Clearly, no-one listened to customer feedback. So, go for the view, but maybe just have a drink!
Very nice restaurant perf for a special occasion
Sandwiches were very dry. The scones didnt come with enough jam and cream. No butter. Not very good value for money. Service was good tho.
Great way to spend a Saturday lunch witj friends. Friendly and efficient service, good food in lovely surroundings.
Nice views, excellent food and a lovely welcoming and service
We enjoyed a first class meal on Friday evening. The food was superb & the service was excellent. We had a table by the window with a lovely view across the river.
A stunning location with great views over the river to St Paul's. The service and food is stunning.
It’s a very beautiful restaurant and the view were great, unfortunately me and my boyfriend tried the Valentine’s Day tasting menu and we could barely finish the courses. The wines were great but that’s about it, it all ended with us getting a free drink because we couldn’t eat the food.
Ce restaurant mérite le détour réellement !! Nous sommes venus pour la saint valentin et tout était parfait ! C etait divin
Lovely setting, friendly staff, good food - particularly fine rhubarb crumble tart! We will definitely be back.
A fabulous river view, well spaced tables, interesting menu and well presented food. The service could have been a bit faster, but we were in no rush and enjoyed having a room almost to ourselves. A great venue for a birthday or other special occasion meal and we rounded off the evening with a ride home on the Thames Clipper as Bankside Pier is 50 metres away!
Another excellent meal at the Swan. This time for Sunday lunch which was delicious, the roast beef particularly tender.
I would recommend the Swan to friends but I would make them aware that for the afternoon tea you don’t have the option of dining in the main restaurant and are placed upstairs in the ‘function room’. Enjoyable afternoon tea but disappointed the restaurant seating was not an option as the photos on the website sold the venue to me and was very much looking forward to enjoying a special birthday experience for my friend in luxury surroundings; unfortunately this was not the case.
Really great location for the views across the Thames to St Paul’s and city skyline. Service and food all very good. Worth a trip and it’s a cut about the general restaurants nearby. Price is good too.
Excellent pre theatre but wider menu would make a difference especially some light options
Had a lovely evening at the Swan. The staff were superb and the roast pork was particularly excellent. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope we can come again.
We had the Afternoon Tea. We asked for one more egg salad sandwich, and they brought back an entire sandwich plate! Really nice place.
Joint birthday celebration. Relaxed and friendly ambience. Attentive but not excessive service. Food was high quality & beautifully cooked. Window table as requested so able to enjoy the river and City panorama. Lovely evening & would definitely visit again for a special occasion.
We had a very good diner. Very kind service. It was my friend’s birthday and our waitrer brought her a very nice attention (candle and chocolat truffes and prosecco glass). Much appreciated! Thank you
Couldn’t fault the restaurant at all, the staff made us feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing & very well presented. I’ve already been recommending the restaurant to friends 😀
I was pretty disappointed by our afternoon tea - while it’s a beautiful setting some of the tables are very close together leaving you feeling a bit crowded- that aside the service was subpar - we were ignored and had to wait forever on our bill and it was obvious they forgot this was meant to be a birthday celebration. Some of the food was great and some of it wasn’t. We had afternoon tea at three places and London and other than the view and the beautiful dishes this was my least favorite. Also turned in my coat and got it back with one Oyster card missing -.- not wanting to point any fingers but I definitely had it in my coat before I turned it in. No big deal but not great. Oh and the special love potion cocktail you have to pay so much more for looks nice but just tastes like Prosecco - not worth it. Overall it’s like a 3/5 for me.
Good food, friendly staff. We enjoyed a late family lunch before a tour. The view was great too
The experience was ok, but paying £35 for food, I’d expect it to be fresh. It didn’t taste that way. The service was ok, but the bill was just thrown onto our table - just the piece of paper, we didn’t even realize it was there. Also a shame you can’t order from the menu upstairs, since one of our friends had serious allergies to pretty much everything that the afternoon tea had.
Lovely atmosphere and fixed menu food value. Friendly service. Would recommend.
Great views, sitting by the window. Food was really tasty and the service was quick. Would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a nice restaurant with a good view and friendly staff.
Overpriced. Food indifferent at best, and clearly reheated in microwave. Obliging service, lovely view of the river.
Lovely food and excellent wine. Great service and views
A delightful evening filled with soft candlelight, delicious food and friendly but professional service. Perfection!
Fantastic food and service in a stunning location.
Great food and service. We will be back again :) Had a lovely Sunday roast and booking online was super easy and smooth.
Swan is a stylish yet affordable restaurant that over looks St.Paul. The food is top quality and on the three occasions I’ve been, the staff have been superb.
Lovely food, great service, lovely view of the Thames. Will definitely be back!
Great views and ambiance. Good Weekend lunch place with friends. Very child friendly. Good solid winter food choices although could have done with a salad on the menu.
Disappointing experience. Food was luke warm. The sea trout was so dry - dreadful, and just came with French beans. No potatoes so we had to pay for a side dish. We complained and the manager reduced our bill. Very overpriced in my opinion especially the wine. I wouldn’t return.
