Sydney Cove Oyster Bar - Circular Quay
When it comes to dining by the water's edge, Sydney Cove Oyster Bar is unique. No other CBD restaurant can offer the combination of postcard-perfect views of the city skyline, Circular Quay and the Harbour Bridge and the seductive splash of the sea, teamed with a menu of the freshest shucked-to-order oysters, Australian seafood and local, seasonal produce.
Very disappointing, before being greeted we were advised that we only had 90 minutes on the table, the view was fantastic, waiter staff were brilliant as for the food I could get better food at a takeaway fishing and chip shop, will not go there again.
Fantastic overall and we have already recommended this our friends
A lovely spot for a ladies lunch. Always nicer when there is no ship at the overseas passenger terminal, but there’s not much you can do about that. Service was excellent. Thank you we’ll be back 👍🏻
Amazing vibes and atmosphere. Incredible location and phenomenal oysters! Starters are a little expensive with small portion but mains and sides are great value for money! Highly recommend for a nice meal for special occasions :)
Extremely noisy, warm drinks, rather expensive and service not up to the price being charged.
No bread or butter served with oysters.
No lemon served with fish
My experience is these are both served in a good Resturant
Food was excellent and location on the Quay perfect.
Stumbled across this gem a couple of months ago. My new favourite go to restaurant for seafood and ambience.
Great location, fantastic ambience & friendly service!
A very disappointing dinning experience as both the food and service was average but the prices were certainly not. It has been sometime since we have dined here and our experiences in the past have been excellent that is why we specifically booked so that our friends could enjoy what we thought was a great place to dine on the harbour sadly it was not the case.
Oyster not fresh
We had a birthday dinner and food and service was fantastic
Very good food here. Beautiful location at Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour. Tables are very close together, but get that management want to squeeze as much $$ out of the place as they can. Staff very friendly but you can get left alone sometimes for a bit longer than you'd like. But because tables so close together too many more staff and they'd be getting in each other's way. On the whole, it was a very nice meal and experience. It is on the expensive side, but that's an observation rather than a gripe.
We’ve eaten several times here and been delighted every time. The service and good humour of the wait-staff is particularly good. Perfect location and good prices.
Beautiful location, great atmosphere, and wonderful food & service.
Great spot for watching Harbour fireworks and generally enjoying Sydney Harbour with excellent food and great, friendly and attentive service.
Excellent food, wine list, service and ambiance in my usual go to place to entertain visiting guests and those new to Sydney.
Excellent Restaurant service and food always consistent a little expensive
Excellent food, well presented. Not over-expensive considering the ambiance and the setting right next to the harbour. The service was efficient and friendly, finding the right balance between taking an interest in our evening and being too familiar. And, thank god, there was no pounding so-called "background" music that makes table conversation close to impossible in so many restaurants.
Great location on the Sydney Harbour, close to the Opera House
Confused service, tables packed too closely together
Truly the most memorable experience! Venue and view of the Harbour, exceptional!!!! We were blessed with a sunny day, cool breezes, were given a table right on the water. The menu was superb and oysters and fish soup sensational. Wine list and service excellent. Truly one of the more memorable dinning experiences I've had. Thank you!
One of our favourite restaurants in Sydney. Will will be back
The food was exceptional. The service ... not as much. In his defense, the poor guy was waiting on half the restaurant. Overall, very good. We would definitely go back.
The view is amazing, but it’s premium price for basic outdoor seating.
The food is great, I think I’d visit more often if there were a few more mid range options.
Sydney Oyster Bar always consistent and the food and service always very good
Amazing food and view, as usual!! Highly recommend the oyster shots!
We absolutely loved our lunch on Sunday pre-theatre for my partner's birthday. We will definitely be returning.
Amazing oysters, and delicious food. Didnt like the fact that a wild bird was sitting on the bench where beer was being poured from. But the rest was definitely an experience I'd go back for.
A fabulous and classic place to eat oysters! The view is excellent, the service good, the seafood fresh, the wine list short but good and right by the water.
We always return.
The food was excellent and the view speaks for itself. Staff were friendly, accommodating and extremely efficient, with the meals arriving in record time despite how busy it was.
My only criticism would be the mains were a touch pricey given the portion size.
My wife and I are happy with smaller portions as we're not eaters for the sake of it, however if portions are going to be on the smaller side then $40+ per main is a touch expensive.
Otherwise, as mentioned above, everything else was perfect and we would be happy to recommend.
Very vibrant waterfront restaurant located right on Circular Quay. All outdoor seating. One couple experienced a bird strike during their dinner. Food was excellent. Did get a little warm as he sun set and we weren't covered by the numerous umbrellas. A little pricey, but very busy.
I produced a story for a TV show years ago on Sydney Cove Oyster bar and have been a total covert ever since. I always want everything on the menu -but outstanding dish are scallops, side of roast potatoes, the fettuccini, massive part & rocket salad is always stellar but simple and the octopus & huge fish tacos - brilliant But the Pacific Oysters we had were second to none. Creamy, deep, clean and fresh...I'll be back - a LOT. Many thanks - KJ

Very nice meals, great service, fantastic view. It was a great night
A tremendous afternoon spent on Sydney Cove. Delicious oysters, great main and wines
Dined here Nov 2017 and loved it - five star review ; so my partner and I chose this place as our first lunch out together without our baby. Disappointed. Whilst the entrees of octopus, crab toast and oysters were divine the whole baby snapper was a let down. The wasabi and ginger dressing didn't exist and I spent the duration of the meal pulling fish scales out of my mouth. Whilst the service from the waitress couldn't be faulted when we advised of the issue with the scales she said they get the fish in already descaled so its an issue with the supplier, not them. Such a strange response - that's not our fault anf ultimately the kitchen should be checking the produce before cooking and sending to paying customers.
Was a lovely location, the cocktails were nice, the foodwas delisious and was served very timely. We were early for our appointed table, and were warned that we had to vacate seats after 1 and 1/4 hours as they were rebooked.
The view as always is sublime next to the harbour, and the venue is much quieter than the Opera Bar, which is good for people with hearing difficulties.
Wonderful experience for our overseas relatives visiting. Food was delicious and glorious atmosphere to have a glass of wine and watch the ferries go past right under the Harbour Bridge. I live in Sydney and I loved it. Wait staff were friendly. I think they were all form overseas also.
All you need is a nice day ... who doesn't like an oyster shot with a beer chaser overlooking the harbour ... BLISS!
Excellent service from friendly staff and the food was excellent as always
