Very attentive staff. Couldn't do enough to help. Roasts were lovely. Just the right size
Busy, buzzy brassiere with great food, great portions & decent value .. we'll go again !!
Great! Perfect Sunday lunch
Food was very good and waiters very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a very good time
Food and service was very good and the warm duck salad I had as a main was fab. Didn't realise when booking that there was going to be live music. Whilst the singer was good, it was a bit difficult to have a conversation due to the volume and as that was the purpose of the reason to visit, my fellow diner and myself were disappointed. Also, a warning to the ladies, in the Ladies, it was very disconcerting to sit down to business so to speak and find the wall opposite the loo is a huge mirror!
Delicious food and excellent service
Lovely mid week meal
Highly recommended. We now go regularly - it’s always great. Nice food - and well priced.
Had my eye on this place for a while. My wife and I dined here and it was well worth it. Food was good with plentiful portions. Service was excellent throughout the evening. Owner was so friendly and set the standard which the rest followed. Recommended
Consistently high level service - interesting and varied menu. Quality of food excellent and overall, great ambience.
An excellent local restaurant, great food, and excellent value for mid week lunches.
Food ok but lacking atmosphere.
Amazing food, reasonable prices, friendly, attentive staff ... cannot rate this other than a perfect night out
We are locals and this is our favourite restaurant in this area. Good food, good service and you don’t feel like your getting ripped off.
Excellent as always, great attentive service with fantastic food.
Always go here and it’s always amazing never had a bad thing to say
A weekly favorite
Great food. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff
Excellent meal here at the Tablespoon, the team there were all great and very friendly, felt extremely welcome whilst we were there. The food was very tasty, nice to see varying options on the menu with a unique spin! Will definitely return
Good service and great food.
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff attentive and engaging as always.
Great evening celebrating my husbands Birthday.
The service was quick and the charming waiter helped to make the evening .
The food was cooked to perfection, delicious fillet steak with excellent sides.
They actually provided a Birthday treat alongside the dessert, of homemade raspberry
Fully recommend a visit, midweek is quieter and parking easier.
The waitress got our food order wrong...twice! My main course (Sri lankan curry) was tasteless and marketed as medium when in fact it was super mild. Veg was over cooked, samosas were dry and over cooked.
All in all, food was poor. We won’t be coming back again.
The staff here is the best! We love the Shrimp Diablo as a starter and every time we come here we have a great meal and experience!
Excellent experience all round. Will book again! Food and service second to none!
it's always a very good experience at Tablespoon, food is excellent and the service is attentive.
This was our third visit but first on a Sunday. Good welcome and quick drinks service. Food was a bit slow to arrive and some of it was only warm, not hot. However, we both chose roast beef and the meat was delicious and cooked to our choice. The portions weren't huge but were adequate for our needs. We will go back
Third visit over 6 months and each time service has been excellent. The fact that all 6 of us found something individually on the menu says it all.
For the area, Tablespoon is quite competitively priced. Most of the food was good - the curries were very much enjoyed and my Sunday roast was excellent - well cooked vegetables, very good quality beef and huge portion. The only disappointment was salt and pepper squid which was tasteless and rubbery.
Wines were decent quality.
Service was quite odd - our waitress didn't really seem to be trained - forgot to mention the specials until we were ordering, got the order partially wrong when she brought a soup by mistake, spoke so quietly she was difficult to hear and seemed inattentive and a bit slow - we couldn't always understand her and I'm not sure she always understood us.
Overall a good Sunday lunch though - apart from the squid, all of us were happy with our meals.
Sunday lunchtime was busy with families, but with a pleasant atmosphere. The Sunday menu was not the menu shown on line, so three of our party chose a traditional roast meal. It was exceptional! Delicious and better than Simpsons in the Strand or the Goring Hotel, both of which are famed for Sunday lunch. The cooking was first rate and the helpings were generous. Staff were friendly & attentive. Great value and we shall return midweek to try the more varied menu.
Pleasant environment on a Saturday evening. Food was good. Wine was reasonably priced. Service was attentive. Staff were friendly. All in all a nice neighbourhood restaurant.
A local gem - we have been back multiple times and it never fails to impress. Portions are large so be careful if you want 3 courses - cigar starter is just delighful
Had a lovely meal here with 2 girlfriends. Staff were fab. We could here each other speak. Would recommend. Will definitely be going back. Thank you :-)
Lovely restaurant, amazing food and wine. Will definitely go there again.
Excellent food and service - very well priced as well.
A delightful lunch
Superb food and service despite several Christmas Parties! Highly recommended
My partner and I took his parents here for a small belated birthday meal for his Dad and we had a wonderful time; the food was delicious and the service was superb. We had our table booked for a relatively early time in the evening which meant that the restaurant was empty when we arrived, but it definitely became more busy as the night went on. Admittedly I wasn't really sure what to expect from the place but we were immediately made to feel welcome and the waiters were brilliant as they were happy to go along with the very friendly nature of my partner's Dad.
The food was fantastic; simple yet perfectly cooked. Two of us had the salmon en croute and two others had the lamb. For dessert, 3 out of the 4 of us had the cheesecake which was lovely, but it's probably worth mentioning that my partner's Mum had the Christmas Pudding which she said was the best she's had in many years.
Unfortunately my partner and I don't live in the area but we'll endeavour to visit again if we get the opportunity, however I know that his parents will visit again soon now that they know it's there. Although do note that there is limited parking immediately near the restaurant (luckily we were fortunate enough to find a street parking space directly opposite).
Excellent service coupled with excellent food. Each time we have been to this restaurant we have had a genuinely great experience. Add to this the excellent musician who plays every couple of weeks on a Wednesday evening and this place can really become a frequent favourite.
Always a pleasure visiting The Tablespoon. This time I brought I friend of mine. She absolutely loved it and said she wants to take her family there just for the amazing steaks! We both agreed the steaks at The Tablespoon are much better than the ones you find at SteakHouses. The elderly gentleman serving our drinks was very kind and hilarious as always!
