Indian
As Bournemouth’s first and longest-standing curry house, Taj Mahal is a household name among the towns curry connoisseurs, drawing in spice seekers from all around the town to its location over in Westbourne, for both lunch and dinner. Taking time-honoured recipes and giving them a creative twist, Taj Mahal’s menu has something to suit all tastes, no matter what your preferred level of spice is. Some of our favourites include the sylheti (shredded tender chicken marinated in yogurt, spices & garlic, cooked with onion and green pepper, fresh spices, paprika, cumin, turmeric, tomatoes, pickles and Worcestershire sauce) and the classic bhuna massala. You’ll find Taj Mahal located on Poole Road – to guarantee a table, making a booking in advance is recommended.

Lovely atmosphere. Food brilliant. Large menu to cater for every taste you desire. Service good. They have cosy cubicle seating as well. Best Indian in Bournemouth.

Six of us celebrated NYE2017 here and really enjoyed our evening. The restaurant was nicely decorated with LOTS of festive lights, the food was delicious - tasty and plentiful, the prices were very reasonable - my husband and me ordered a set meal for two which included 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 pilau rice and a naan bread to share for £31 (they were happy to substitute some of the dishes). The service was excellent - the young man who was waiting on our table was fun, friendly and really added to the evening experience.
The toilets could of been warmer! But I plan to visit again and would recommend this Indian restaurant.

Terrible food had to send back some dishes as they were actually cold! Certainly not freshly cooked Peas looked so dry and old I felt uncomfortable to eat thinking I might be ill! Restaurant very empty very disappointed.

First time we've been to the Taj Mahal in Westbourne and it was absolutely great! Food and drink were top notch, the place was packed so the atmosphere was good but everything came to the table quickly enough and the staff were helpful when we had questions.

Would highly recommend if you like good curry.

This was good food, but felt like you were rushed and they were not busy, i think this was due to them keep asking hows our food. I feel if they had let us enjoy we would have said very good. Prices are very good as it was only £30 for two of us with a drink and they do chips for my wife instead of rice. Nice touch.
