Only in London for one evening and Tamarind came highly recommended. We were not disappointed!
Food was delicious, manager took good care of us and also great to chat to. I will definitely return.
Only thing I would advise is to specify if you like breaks in between your courses as our main followed straight after our starter so we sent it back as we needed a 15 min break.
Fabulous food, service and interior. Really enjoyed it!
Food was absolutely incredible and in a gorgeous space. Had an amazing dinner and would go back in a heartbeat. My only complaint? We ate way too much!!!!
Great food! Unpretentious. Chicken biriyani was the best. Desserts were so so.
An interesting menu, not a traditional "curry house" for sure. The Staff and Management are well informed to advise with the menu. A little negative comment, not the biggest choice of menu.
Had a friend eat here a few weeks before. Food is very good. Wine list is fantastic. Fun getting through the front door. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fun night. Acorn cake is not to be missed.
Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Lovely decor. Food is good although lacks taste. Lovely drinks and refreshing. Very very expensive. £19 for a small curry. You'll be spending £££ easily. Best to eat starters, skip the mains and head straight for dessert. Won't be returning I'm afraid as these are the type of popular restaurants you'd visit once and tick off from your list. Lastly when I got my bill, usually restaurants give hot towels or mints but got nothing from this restaurant.
Remarkable. Sampled many dishes, each a delightful flavor experience. At once familiar yet elevated beyond traditional taste profiles for Indian cuisine. Will definitely return
The Tamarind Kitchen is a rare find in London: and outstanding restaurant with reasonable prices. It serves Indian food at its best—flavorful, unique, and well presented. Its food is often different from that served in more ordinary Indian restaurants, perhaps different spices or spices in different combinations, withingredients cooked to perfection. We detected no false notes.
Very busy so quite noisy, where we were sitting it was difficult to get in and out from our table as others were too close, if we had been large people it would have been more of a problem! Food and service was fabulous though, it was our second visit.
Really lovely tasty food, very different to regular Indian food
Amazing dinner! Service impeccable! Would highly recommend
Excellent Indian cooking, really enjoyed the taster menu
The food was amazing but the quantity is not sufficient for the price!
Very good good and excellent service. We where taken care all the time
One of the best meals I've had in London. The food was so good we dined two nights in a row! Excellent choice of dishes with the right amount of flavor and spice. Outstanding service and waitstaff
Fabulous food and cocktails in particular. Very good service with helpful staff who recommended food based on number of dishes and balance of menu.
Tasting menu plus a few extras were amazing. The service from the whole team was exceptional, very knowledgable about all the food options and someone was always available when needed.
Will definitely be back
We had a delicious lunch there - excellent food - starters divine - would have happily had lots of those! Really nice! Not cheap but worth it...
Amazing and authentic Indian food - slightly pricey. Loved the interiors, very quiet.
whole meal was delicious. prawn curry, veg biryani, black pepper chicken. great atmosphere as well
Excellent food and service. The cocktails are delicious
Very gooooood food. Only the wine prices are too expensive in the carte.
We found very good the plates quality, service was kind and the location quite nice. Too expensive the bill (for 4 people, £ 160 without eating a lot).
Very tasty Asian cuisine. Tasting menu was a good way to sample a variety of delights. The dessert wine we had wasn’t really a dessert wine but otherwise everything else was swell.
Amazing diner. We took a tasting menu that has a lot of different elements, it was delicious and very fulfilling! (I couldn’t eat it all). The drinks were also great. Service was good as well. A bit expensive, but honestly worth the price. Would recommend
easy neighbourhood restaurant, food is very good, prices are moderate!
Lovely food, 10/10 for ambience
We had a lovely evening at Tamarind. We asked our waiter for recommendations and he was very helpful and the food we ordered was delicious. Especially, the starters were original and extremely tasty. We'll be back!
This was our first visit to Tamarind Kitchen, with some American friends visiting London who wanted to try Indian food. The evening was a great success! The decor and atmosphere are delightful - very different from the traditional decor of Indian restaurants in the UK - and the service friendly and helpful but discreet. The street food style starters were excellent, as were the various main courses that we shared. The portions aren't particularly generous but the food very well prepared and the flavours of the individual ingredients shone through. We've been to far too many Indian restaurants with huge portions of bland mush half of which doesn't get eaten because it's so boring! This was right at the other end of the scale in terms of quality and worth paying a little extra for. Our friends from the other side of the pond loved it!
Great location, brilliant interiors, warm welcoming staff and lipsmackingly delicious food. My only issue was the temperature inside was too warm to make us feel relaxed. Spicy food, red wine and dark closed atmosphere caused a degree of claustrophobia. May be it was a just a busy night. I recommend that they keep the inside temperature a touch on the lower side.
The biriyani was amazing. Thank you.
Not the typical Indian restaurant menu, was refreshing to see quite a restricted but tasty menu. Every dish was lovely, the cocktails were very good too. There were quite a few waiters so service was great but not in our faces
We had the tasting menu (£40pp) which was well worth it. The amount of food you get and the quality was outstanding. thoroughly exnjoysd the experience
Not our first visit. Food was good as always, starters are fab, ambience and service spot on. A little dissappointed with the lamb shank but the masala chai bruleè made up for it. :-). My husband was also given a birthday surprise dessert on the house. A little pricey but worth on special occassions.
Great food, great service and a lovely ambience. I’ll be back for sure!
My husband and I visited the restaurant on recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was completely delicious, perfectly balanced and plentiful. The service was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a traditional feel to it, with attractive plates and pots and comfortable seating. All in all, we had a very enjoyable experience.
Lovely food, great atmosphere and very attentive staff. I'd highly recommend for informal or formal dining requirements in the West End.
Very good quality Indian food. Spices are to perfection.
It is though over priced.
I would recommend the place.
Food quality and presentation standards were outstanding! The customer service was very good lovely, friendly staff specifically the lady that was serving downstairs that was new. This is my second time Dining at Tamarind Kitchen I would highly recommend this restaurant. (If you don’t like spicy food then this probably isn’t the type of cuisine for you)
