Dinner Monday to Saturday 5pm - 10.30pm
Dinner Sunday 5pm- 9.45pm
Very poor and slow service. Appetizers took 45 minutes to come out. Main courses came out spread over an hour.
Device was clueless about ingredients and preparation
We dined there last year when we visited London and had an excellent meal. We decided to go back this year and actually ended up fining there twice. The mango and avocado salad is specially delicious.
Lovely innovative Asian food available in small sharing portions, you can enjoy lots of dishes you may not have had before. Excellent service and very helpful waitress. Seemed very good value. Highly recommend it, we will be back for more.
Great food, lovely ambiance and most of all fabulous service! Went out of their way to accommodate vegan requests. Everything we ordered was delicious and well presented.
Great starters. Main dishes a little bland. Nice ambiance
interesting Indian food. nice waitress. a bit pricey
Mango salad and chicken biryani were the stars of the show!
Great food and helpful staff. We visited for our first anniversary and it was definetly a great experience. The restaurant bought out a dessert for us which said Happy Anniversary. This was extremely nice of them. Would recommend this restaurant to all.
Great atmosphere, attentive staff, my only little gripe (which all staff credited) was on choosing the tasting menu, the first 3 dishes all came at once, when we had only just started our cocktails! so felt we were rushing to eat them rather than savor. It was to be served in a tapas style, but I think as it was the 'tasting' menu, they should come out separately over time. The staff completely understood this, and gave us plenty of time throughout the meal, which was excellent. All dishes throughout the menu sounded great so as we could not decide which ones to choose, the tasting menu was the best idea, and everything was beautiful. The biryani is bizarrely presented! and the brulee a must! Will definitely try the Mayfair venue when next in London.
I hadn’t realised that this had been taken over by the Tamarind crew. Previously as Imli and then some name I can’t remember, the food had been very good. It still is, which is a relief. But it is very expensive for what you get. Very efficient air conditioning makes it a pleasant place to eat on a sweltering evening.
Best friend coming from Miami
It’s a wonderful place, very cosy and the service is really good, but it’s rather on an expensive end.
Excellent small atmospheric restaurant, especially while Tamarind on Queens Street is un remodel
Huge disappointment ...had to wait 40 minutes for our first course ...when the people on our left and right hand side arrived after us and had there meals before us....seemed very disorganised. A big embarrassment as I had booked this place and my business contact was paying...bring back the \Star of India in Brompton Road it was the best Indian in London by far .
Great authentic Indian cuisine, warm service and nice atmosphere an great alternative to an iconic cuisine in London.
The flavors of the food were good, but the mains portions were extremely small. The mains were the same size, if not smaller than the starters...not worth $30-40.
Also, it took us about 30min from the time we asked for our bill to actually receive our bill. During that 30min period, the waiter and staff kept coming over to ask us if the flavors of the food were okay and continuously sought praise.
Probably tons of other amazing Indian restaurants in London...
The starters were delicious, we had the aloo tikki chaat and paneer tikka. It went downhill from there the mains were bland, chicken riza and lamb shank which were both bland and boring. Drinks were nice. The rice had a hair in it!!! Disappointed over all.
Incredibly tasty dinner, both meat and fish.
Really good spicy and combination of flavors.
Poor service, quite confusional and no particular attention to the customer
This place is trying too hard to be something it's not. Some (not all) dishes nicely presented but no disguising bland flavours throughout. Tapas-style sharing plates as starters, every one of 8 was lukewarm at best. Staff tried hard but no finesse. Despite request for a nicer table (anniversary), they tried to fob me off with a table by the toilets in windowless/downstairs section (half the tables are downstairs). And with only 1 drink for all 4 of us, a whopping 340 pound bill at the end. Hugely disappointing. Actually, outrageous. Save your money (and nerves) and go to any of the 100s of average Indian restaurants around London for a significantly superior dining and value for money experience.
Food portions were too small, good for date but not for group. Wine selections were over priced.
My first visit to Tamarind Kitchen. We had two friends with us who were visiting from Sweden. Seating comfortable. Excellent service. We enjoyed the cocktails. The 1st and 2nd dishes were particularly fine especially the prawn and chicken. Would highly recommend.
Really nice restaurant went here for a anniversary diner. Staff are really nice food is very nice also. But the portion are small but are tasty.
Good food, good attentive service.
The banana leaf wrapped prawn and crab was served at room temperature which could have been better. Good starters. The mains could be bigger portions as we had 4people in our party.
My husband and me use to eat at Tamarind years ago, on our current visit to London came to experience it again, since Tamarind is closed for remodeling we went to Tamarind Kitchen, it was out of the world. No doubt we will come again in our next visit
Not very accommodating
Good quality Indian food as found in some of the modern restaurants in India. Just lacking more vegetarian options. Wine list a bit pricy.
Beautiful decor and nice buzzing atmosphere but unfortunately we were very let down by the service and the food. It took half an hour to get a cocktail and the naan bread came after the mains. The food was average with no stand out dishes, and to be honest we would have preferred normal high street indian, especially for the price we paid. We were told they have recently changed the menu which might be the problem. Very expensive for what you get.
One of the best Indian food experiences in London. Food is outstanding.
A little slow to take our order initially but all worked well after that. This was our first visit so decided to try the new tasting menu & were not disappointed - every single dish was bursting with flavour and also ended up really well paced. Highly recommend trying it (especially for the biriyani!) - already looking forward to our next visit!
They have just launched a new menu and there were hardly any gluten or dairy free options, the waiter wasn’t properly trained on advising customers and misunderstood our order - a shame as I’d enjoyed it here before.
The sequencing of the meal sounds like a good idea, but in reality, it's very odd to have 1st or 2nd course curry without rice or naan, as that comes with the 4th course. And the food was fine, but not nearly as good as the old Tamarind. No black lentils? Roghan Josh with no flavor? No pilau rice? It's just not the same and I will only try once more to see if they listen.
We were hugely disappointed with the service of this restaurant, specifically the unwelcoming hostess at the entrance.
Although we had booked in advance, upon arrival – notably on time, our table was not ready. We were shuffled downstairs and asked to wait aside whilst our table was prepared.
Though there was a vacant table for 6 ready, the hostess said we couldn’t sit there as there was a party of 6 due to arrive shortly (lucky “them” at least their table was ready).
We waited and watched 2 tables to be squished together with a fifth seat plugged onto the end.
After requesting to speak to the disinterested manager, he miraculously managed to rustle up a table for 4 plus an addional plate upstairs, and complaining a second time he finally added a third table.
An hour into my meal I needed to relieve myself, to my astonishment I pass the vacant table for 6 I mentioned earlier – still vacant.
The reputation of this restaurant/circus is tarnished by the Ringmaster manager and his hostess CLOWN.
Go to Mayfair.
Brilliant resterant, amazing food and drinks, cant fault the place, would be coming back again for sure
Very tasty food, the waiters were friendly and offered advice on dish selection when it was too hard to pick between the great options. Want to go back to try the ones I missed out on.
The ambience is amazing - the most beautiful modern painted & lit walls.
The staff were so fun, friendly & patient too (we arrived late & stayed a while).
I think you get what you pay for, and this was tasty & good value food, considering the location & wonderful atmosphere.
Will definitely be going there again, and to there sister restaurant. These guys really know what they’re doing :-).
The restaurant in terms of appearance is impressive and very clean. The menu options and varied and cater for all. We ordered 3 starters, naan, 2 bottles of the cheapest white on the menu (£24), one bottle of sparkling water and it came to £170. The food itself was tasty and well presented. As for service, it was a challenge getting attention, especially for drink refills. The wine was stored away from the table and we were sat waiting almost 20 mins in between each glass to be poured, which would’ve been nicer with the meal. For the price we paid versus service, I’ve been to many other places that I would perceive far better value for money. The staff were polite etc, but it lacking that extra bit of attention that makes the whole experience worthy of a higher rating.
Really fresh and interesting tastes - highly enjoyable food
Although we had a reservation and were there on time,
the host tried to give us a table downstairs part where there were no clients, nobody at all....
He said that there will be clients in this part of restaurant shortly, and they did not have a table for us and we would wait 10 minutes if we want a table where everbody eats...
We did not accept, we told them we had reservation for a proper table and we would wait for it.
Shockingly in 2-3 minutes they gave us a proper table.
But the most shocking moment was at the end of our dinner when we saw that there were still no clients at the downstairs part where they offered us a table.
Food ok but couldn’t save the experience in general.
What a great little restaurant. Great service, great food and great setting.
Will easily return there.
Delightful in every way, from the feel of the room to the hospitality of the staff to the parade of wonderful dishes.
