Tamarind Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
In all honesty; if I was walking past this restaurant, I probably wouldn't go inside as it looks way out of my price range. However, I discovered the £29 tasting menu on OpenTable and thought it sounded too good to be true. The food was amazing, I can't fault it. I was with a friend but the atmosphere would be perfect for a date and I will definitely be taking my partner there in the near future.
Absolutely delicious meal from a very reasonable £29 fixed-price menu, stunning bottle of wine to accompany (Pomerol, £62). Wonderful, attentive service, and very kind and helpful for a vegan member of our party for whom the kitchen prepared special dishes.
The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. They waiter was so kind, helpful and pulled together an appetizer dish for us that selected multiple things so we got a little of everything. This was one of the better all around meals I have had in a long time. 😊
Fantastic restaurant!!!! Great service , waiter was outstanding and food was extraordinary. We tried a variety of food and did our own tasting menu which was really great. The service was timed really well which we are super picky about. Most London restaurants we visited rushed through the meal this was so nice .. very well done!
Heard good things and trying Tamarind Kitchen for the first time, it did not disappoint. Beautiful looking restaurant with comfortable seating, spacious enough, plenty of atmosphere, excellent service and exceptional food and wine. A place I will be going back to many times.
Fantastic restaurant, fantastic food , fantastic service, a must if your looking for a good place to eat , looked after my party well and the food was outstanding, it was nice not to have a long list of items on the menu and the waiter was a great help , will recommend and will return
A fantastic dining experience. The wit and humour of the staff was second to none, the food was wonderfully spicy and achieved the perfect balance between authenticity and sophistication and the decor and atmosphere was intimate and cosy. Will definitely be returning soon!
My husband and I had a fantastic meal here and the staff were terrific. The house cocktails were wonderful --created masterfully to go with the delicious Indian flavors in the cuisine. We had been in London (for 11 days and had tried several great restaurants - everywhere we went the places we chose got great ratings and absolutely delivered)- BUT, Tamarind was undoubtedly our favorite place of all!
This was our first visit to Tamarind and I cannot praise it enough for both the food and the service. Everyone was really nice and friendly and our waiter recommended various things to try, which were really exceptional - definitely would recommend to everyone.
This was our first visit and we were very impressed. Greeting was pleasant and efficient and our table was very good. Although the restaurant was busy on a Saturday evening we did not find the presence of other diners intrusive, either visually or audibly. Waiter was very polite, efficient and informative. None of this is any good of course if the actual food isn't up to scratch however the Tamarind Kitchen does not disappoint. The menu is smaller and quite different from many other more traditional South Asian styles but we all thoroughly enjoyed the new flavours and the quality of the ingredients was also excellent. Given the high standard and the West End location we also thought it gave good value for money. Thoroughly recommended.
I really love this restaurant! Didnt start off as expected as we were 3 sitting on a four table so they moved us to another table. Wasn't very happy to be moved but they went out of their way to make up for this, including a round of drinks. In the end they moved us again to a bigger table once a group had left. As usual food was amazing, service attentive but not pushy and I love the chocolates at the end. Will continue to recommend as I think it's an amazing restaurant.
We had a lovely evening at The Tamarind Kitchen.
The waiter Aliston was exceptional, very attentive and offered other suggestions from the menu to help with our choices.
All the staff were very good and we were pleased to see that they seemed happy with a healthy sense of humour.
What a wonderful meal. The menu is fairly small but manages to cover everything you could want. The dumplings (main course) were superb and my other favourites were the tardkha dahl and scallops. The food is perfectly cooked with delicate flavours that you can taste one by one. The atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant itself beautiful. Every member of staff was attentive and very polite, but for us, Aliston made our night special. He is so happy and proud to work there! He even ran down the street after us because we left a carrier bag of things. Having eaten at the Tamarind and had a lovely meal there; we would rather come back here for half the price and double the taste.
