Good and fresh quality food, nice athmosphere. Take your own choice , and do not ask the waiter for recommendations neither for main course (did not match at all) nor the wine. Then you will be happy ,and have an enjoyable 2 hours (that is the time frame you get when you make a reservation).

Nice restaurant and nothing wrong with it...as long as you are prepared to pay for it. Ok, it is Soho, London. The food was good, the service ok (although once you ask for the bill and you pay, they know they will get the 12.5% service charge, so, not a lot of attention after that).
Food ok, I had better Indian food at a fraction of that price in good Indian takeway or small Indian restaurant out of London.
So, if you are prepared to pay and eat ok, fine. Oh, and be warned, if they offer you the cocktail of the day, which is the Tamarind, make sure you ASK for the price before..it was VERY expensive cocktail for what it is, glass not really full AND they do not tell you the price.. a bit unfair these days...next time, if there is a next time, I will ask.

The service provided by the waiter (forgot his name) was amazing. He was funny and personable. He recommended dishes that were amazing and custom the spice level to what we had wanted. Great find and it is definitely on our favorite restaurants list.

A lovely intimate venue which isn’t too loud but isn’t too quiet.

I am a Coeliac and it was refreshing to hear that there were a lot of gluten free options available.

Lots of classic North Indian dishes which are full of flavour and a great selection of cocktails and mocktails.

It was exactly what we were looking for. The food is really good and the room is cozy and comfortable. Classy yet casual. Nice wine and cocktail options. Menu has something for everyone, offering classics with twist. Clientele reflects everything from business travelers to families to date night to friends night out.

The restaurant was really clean and tidy. The food portion was really small for the price to be fair, other than that really nice taste. Enjoyed the atmosphere. the waiter was nice and helpful.
Overall good experience.

The restaurant was fully booked. Although an early reservation weeks before we got seated in the basement. The lack of atmosphere versus the main restaurant was compensated by the lower noise level which enabled us to have a very relaxed dinner. The service was great and helpful and the food was perfect, not to say very, very good. A perfect evening.

We went for a night out in London. This was the finest Indian meal we have ever eaten. The flavors were so complex and delicious. We loved the ambience and the presentation of the food. Even the dishes were so beautiful and interesting. Little copper pans. Loved loved loved our evening there!

We came for Sunday lunch and tried the 3 course tasting menu with was wonderful. The service was great. Felix was absolutely amazing and even made time to entertain our 15-month old daughter who was highly amused :) . Thank you everyone at Tamarind Kitchen for a lovely dining experience.

Food and service was excellent. I would recommend it. My own preference was that the restaurant didn't have enough lighting.

Great service and ambiance but the food didn’t quite live up to that standard. Fish slightly over-cooked and some sauces (not all) were a little bland. Don’t want to bee too critical but the standard of this type of food in central London is very high.

The meal we had was very special, the restaurant had subtle lighting, was comfortable and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We had tandoori chicken to start, yum, lamb biryani and tarka dahl for main even more yum. Delicious subtle herbs and spices, not too hot, just delicious. We will definitely return. Thanks.

Fantastic food, rather casual relaxing atmosphere (somehow feels nicer in the evening than it did during the previous visit during the day), great service - loved it again. However, Menu is rather narrow and stable - would not come back before they update it to not just eat the same

Came for my birthday and got the set menu. Staff were not very friendly. My husband asked if there was anywhere for his jacket and the manager just said no. They didn’t want to give us a decent table and portions were tiny so no value for money. The dessert was ridiculously tiny but it was tasty food. Won’t come back.

The food and cocktails were great, as was the ambience. The only thing to let it down was slow service with little communication as to why it was taking longer than the surrounding tables.

Disappointing - food was just so underwhelming. Was expecting amazing flavours and just left feeling like we’d had over priced, salty food. The spinach and paneer was so over cooked and the black garlic in the chicken was too strong. Compare it to other similar restaurants like Gymkhana or even Zumbura in Clapham, or Darjeeling Express, and it just falls far short on their standards and quality. Wouldn’t go back.

Good main course from very limited vegetarian options. Staff could have been bit warmer, requested for a photo on our phone and was taken as dark in one click and handed back. The way the table was arranged, it was difficult to squeeze in for 6 ft guy like me. Very limited starter options in vegetarian which disappointed my wife on our Anniversary evening

Really enjoyed our meal here. The service was a little slow to start with, but once we had ordered, everything came out in good timing and was really tasty.

Overall it was quite good value for money, but the wines were all pricey and the scallop appetiser was overpriced considering you only get 2 scallops!

Would definitely come back though, and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Thanks for a nice birthday meal Taramind Kitchen!
