Need to book at 15:15?Other great restaurants with availability.
Absolutely beautiful experience. The food was outstanding, the staff are lovely and extremely accommodating. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in London now.
A truly first class dining experience attended by pleasant and caring staff.
We look forward to visiting again soon.
We went to celebrate our anniversary and the Tamarind team made it special. Delighted by the service. Drinks and Starters were excellent. We are vegetarians so have got a limited choice. Not impressed with the main course. However, we would like to visit here again. Great Hospitality.
An amazing experience and evening from start to finish - the service was exemplary, attention to detail. The food was great, as always .
Fantastic! Great food and service, would definitely recommend!
Really lovely valantines menu. Our third visit and it won't be our last!
The food was very good but not to the level of a Michelin Star. I liked all the starters, the main course was good but not amazing. As for the desert, again very good but they served three identical deserts for two people. It was not value for the money I paid and I would only return if someone else was paying the bill.
Wonderful food Indian cuisine with a modern twist...
Each dish has its own excellent flavour.
Expensive but level of food is worth every penny eg, prawns are huge and tasty. But £26.00 compared to over Mayfair restaurants this isn’t overly expensive and standard of food here is impeccable.
I would 100% visit again.
We had the Valentines day vegetarian taster menu (although we were warned that the desert contained gelatin which I declined?!). The service was exceptional, although the description of the menu could have been better narrated by the waiting staff. The food was of a high standard and reasonably presented. The main course was the low point unfortunately, the dishes were tasty but a little uninspiring. I wouldn't necessary be rushing back as the cost of the meal didn't match the overall experience.
Food not hot
Delicious food, especially the Sea Bass and Prawns.
Service a bit random , know one knew who was serving who , food was Ok nothing special . all the plates were cold , so not a great experience, won’t return
Eaten at Tamarind many times but recent changes to the restaurant is not to my liking. Dishes for a table of four did not arrive together so people were eating platters at different times. Did not appreciate this was the case when ordering the meal. Never seen this type of thing at a classy restaurant. My menu choices has vegetables that were under cooked practically raw! £640 bill !!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Made our birthday dinner very special.
Starters (small courses) were superb, unfortunately these eclipsed the mains which good but not exceptional. Both ladies toilets were blocked and unusable by the time we left.
My wife and I eat at Tamarind every time we are in London which is 2-3 times a year - it is our favorite London restaurant and never disappoints.
Brilliant food and service. The spice combinations were second to none and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Beautiful restaurant that despite its Michelin star didn't feel too formal or pretentious.
Not the usual Indian place, good food good service.
First visit since they remodeled the restaurant. The upstairs area is nicely appointed. The food, particularly the tasting menus are superb with good wine pairings. Will definitely revisit. Lots of competition for Indian cuisine in the Mayfair area, so good to know we have another choice.
Enjoyed the renewed Tamarind experience! Finally a high-level Indian dinner experience with an excellent ambiance. Thank you Tamarind team!
Tamarind was a really lovely experience with a great ambience and food
We had the biryani which was superb
I will definitely recommend the restaurant!
The service was outstanding the food delicious with the exception of the fried cauliflower which tasted off, like a sort of petrol taste.
Another suggestion might be to improve the benches on the upper floor against the window.
They are too low, we changed seats for that reason and saw that two other people subsequently asked for extra pillows to sit on.
We loved our lunch at Tamarind. The service was outstanding and we felt very welcomed. We came with a 7m old baby and everyone was so accomodating that we could just relax and enjoy our lunch. We liked the selection of wine per glass and found the curry portions to be generous however the grills were on the small side. We found everything to be fairly priced regardless the size. I was just a little disappointed with my Dahl dish that lacked a bit of a 'decisive taste' but loved all the other dishes with samosas being a real surprise.
Food has really changed from what it used to be
Tamarind was ok, certainly nothing to complain about, but ambience lacking, food overpriced and cocktails nothing special. Some of the food was amazing (sea bass) but other dishes not so good (crab cakes). Service was ok but certainly didn’t feel spoilt! At £350 for 4 people (including 2 cocktails & one bottle of wine), there are better places to spend your money.
It would be nice to have more vegetarian choices.
For cocktails please try to avoid plastic straws ( environment friendly option)
First visit since the alterations and nothing to disappoint from this well respected and seemingly time-less top notch Mayfair restaurant
All aspects at the top of their game and the extra floor a lighter and more day time feel for even more occasions to suit
One of the best Indian meals I have had. The street food for starters was authentic and the mains simply delicious. The only downside is the price of alcohol is totally unreasonable - 20 pounds a pint. I know it is Mayfair but still. Basically, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody but just don't drink anything!
My favorite restaurant in London and a must visit. We have clients who arrive from all over the world and beg for the food. The longer tasting menu ranges from addictive “street food” appetizers, tandoori’s and incredible curries to nit crusted lamb to amazing dal, rice and naans. The vegetarian menu was also a hot and they were accommodating of a person with a severe nut allergy.
Truly a fabulous meal
This restaurant takes Indian cuisine to a whole new level. Beautifully presented and with fantastic balanced flavours the food was delightful
We had a beautiful meal. Service was attentive without being overpowering. Had the tasting menu with a great biryani to finish .
Superb. Arguably the best meal/dining experience we’ve had.
The food was delicious. You really taste ethnicity of Indian spices
We had the veggie tasting menu and it did not disappoint! Great service and ambience. Highly recommend
Nice redo of the restaurant. Upstairs is pretty. But great letdown on the food. Very watery lentils. Lamb chops swamped with pistachios. Crab cakes tasteless. Service was good. Wine excellent. So lots of work to do!
Excellent food - great taste and presentation.
The service was good, except the waiter insisted we order more. It wasn’t needed.
I was really looking forward to this as I was taking my parents for a meal.
However, the service was slow and I had to constantly prop up to get attention. The waiter didn’t explain the small plates very well and as a result our table bought twice as many starters as was explained.
We also asked to have our food prepared more mild than usual, and unfortunately it was made hotter than usual!
Not a great experience overall.
It was a booking made on reputation and we weren’t disappointed. It was quite simply the best Indian feed we’ve ever eaten. We were a party that included pescatarians and the menu was a delight for us all. Our advice would be to go for a range of grills rather than go for the traditional curry. The scallops, sea bass, tandoori prawns and crispy lobster were out of this world. Service was great and although it’s a bit pricey, it’s an absolute must!!!
Superb Tandoori-based food- exquisite use of spices and fresh everything..
