Terrible, slow service. Communication problems with the waiter and a terribly long wait for our food. Cocktails were tasteless and food was bland. Dishes didn’t arrive and the ones that did were nothing to write home about. Will not be returning and would recommend this restaurant as one to avoid! Overall, highly disappointing !

Very disappointing. Service was bad - had to ask for tap water twice and took ages to get some (only got it during our second course). The food was alright. I had the aubergine hot pot which only had about 3 pieces of aubergine and the pot was only half full. Rice wasn’t even included. The desert was only one mochi ball, and it was completely melted! It looked like soup... asked for a new one and got the same ones back. Asked for new ones again but different flavour, and these were rock hard. You couldn’t even bight into them. The waiter also made a passive aggressive comment whilst serving it. The service in general made us feel very uncomfortable. The guy at the bar kept staring at me and talking to someone else which made it look like they were talking about us. When we wanted to pay and leave, no one was in sight. We were waiting for at least 15 minutes until someone showed up and we could pay the bill. Overall, negative experience. Didn’t feel welcome, food wasn’t worth the money and poor service.

We are very disappointed to hear your feedback but thank you for taking the time to highlight this with us. What you describe is not the level of service or quality of food we endeavour to deliver to your guests so we are taking each of the points raised extremely seriously.

Poor waiter service. Menu doesn’t know what it wants to be! It’s certainly not Japanese. Food pretty average. Icing on the cake was watching the manager drag a homeless man across the floor by his clothes. I understand these situations need to be dealt with but why let them in in the first place (they were known to them apparently). A very sad situation. I certainly would never return

The place is understaffed and the one waitress there does not know how to be a waitress. She stood behind the bar and asked what she can do for us? The food is nothing special, the ramen was bland

Thank you for your feedback. The team at Tamashii has since increased and we look forward to providing our guests with a great dining experience.

Wouldn't suggest this restaurant. There was only one waiter available, so the service was poor. The food was bland and lacked any sort of flavour!

We went here for a birthday dinner. So rare to find such a calm place around kings cross. The staff were incredibly friendly and looked after us so well. The food was good, not amazing but it made up for it with the ambience of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

We were fortunate that we arrived early and got our order in quickly. There was just one manager who was handling the bar and one waiter who said it was his first day on the job. The waiter could not answer any questions about the menu and it felt like he hadn't been given any introduction to his job other than to carry glasses and dishes from Point A to B. There were at least 26 people by the time we finished and most of them were visibly frustrated at the pace. The food was hit and miss. Surprisingly the best dish of the evening in terms of flavour was the mixed veg salad. Beautifully seasoned with a delicious dressing. My spicy beef ramen had barely any flavour in the stock. The crispy squid was well cooked, but the spicy chicken wings had no spice at all. This is not the kind of flavours I would expect from an Asian restaurant in London. Tamashii needs to sort itself out quickly.
