Tandoor Chop House
Style over substance.
The venue and idea is nice but lacked anything to remember or revisit.
The food came out cold and there was very little meat on the plate for somewhere with the same namesake. All the different options on the thali were poorly executed.
There is no music or atmosphere either.
The staff are nice but overall I would not recommend this to others.
Great food! This is my second visit and they delivered both times. Very happy with my visit and the delicious food!
I liked the menu concept of the Tandoor Chop House and their social media does a great job with food photos, I was excited to visit. They are working hard to get the most out of a small space. While I don’t mind close spaced tables, we struggled with the small size of the tables for 2. The menu is based on shared small plates so you end up with a very cluttered space and not a lot of room to maneuver the cutting of your chops on the tiny side plates you eat off of. I felt a bit of a bull in a china shop about to crash things down. That said, the food was nice, with the lamb chops a definite standout. Loved the onion rings and black dal. Ambiance is noisy and busy, good music and vibes. Service is ‘turn em and burn em’, no nonsense and quick paced.
Fantastic food, friendly service and great atmosphere. My favourite restaurant by far!
Overall, the food wasn’t great! I’ve had better Indian food elsewhere. We also, didn’t really have a choice but to order a thali during the time we went and we ended up paying quite a lot for what we had. We wasted a lot of food and money.
If you are intrigued to instagram, good restaurant to visit as visual food is all about it. Seats are dusty and oily, you will find out dust and oil stain on your trousers or dress when you are about to leave the restaurant. Glasses are so scratchy and dirty, not totally washed off gooey syrup was coating the surface of the glass. We have requested to change the glass with this reason and they got the glass back to our table with saying it doesn’t have problem but because of the scratch. Not happy at all with sanitation matter and tables are too small with Thali meal. Taste of food is Okay but but over priced. Not recommendable.
Not sure I would recommend, the food was good, service was good but they rushed us, we were told we had 2.5 hrs, but we were out after1.5 hrs!
Very good food and portion size. Especially recommend the pepper chicken and black daal. Only issue was when I booked I said it was my friend's birthday and when checking in I also let them know. They didn't even stick a candle on anything which would have been nice.
I would recommend, it was a lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere, attentive staff and diverse Indian menu. However I opted for the Chicken special for my main and the chicken was raw against the bone. I sent it back and they took it off the bill but only an initial apology and nothing else said / offered afterwards. I would go again but wouldn’t have any chicken on the bone. Especially as they turn the lights down so you struggle to see what you’re eating.
Pretty poor quality food, tasteless and overpriced even in Central London.
Wouldn’t come again.
Really nice food and good pre-theatre if you're in the area. Would love to come back and try the Sunday sharing platter which looks divine!
This has been my favourite Indian restaurant but the meal on this occasion was undercooked and cold. After it was returned and I was sent a new meal, it was still very ordinary. I typically have the same dishes. Perhaps it was the Chef on this day. The service is always excellent however
Try the Big Mighty Feast on sundays. You will not be dissappointed.
A very good Indian restaurant. Located close Covent Garden,
The food was spectacular. Service was good. They were helpful in suggesting what was good there. Kept our water full throughout meal. Just had to really chase down to get our bill. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming just A little stuffed up from the grills. I would definitely return the food was delicious!
Great service and starters were excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere and smells coming from kitchen were sublime.
Lovely food but service was shocking had to chase order, one person finished the starter and the other one never came !!
Then was charged 12 pound service charge which I refused to pay so the Waitress was then quite abrupt
Love a restaurant in central that you can book a table at! Great service. Enjoyed the food, especially the desserts.
Excellent food and great flavours. Restaurant was a bit on the loud side but this was mainly due to a large group who were right behind us. Service was also good and very efficient. Would come back and recommend to others.
I’d heard great things and it didn’t disappoint! Lovely tasting food.. cozy feel and great service. Not expensive either! Result :)
Great place to eat and socialise. I love to watch the cooking and the space is always busy. This is my 3rd visit with friends and family and it was lovely. The food is amazing and they always do a special
Food was okay and finally an Indian restaurant who's food was not like the other Indian restaurants in the UK.
Amazing food which is the main thing as far as I'm concerned. Some staff are a little surly and quick to clear tables. Prices are very reasonable.
The tandoori cauliflower is special.
Good food, reasonably priced and great service. Highly recommend
Excellent food, good service, they need to open up more branches
My good friend Robert introduced me to you and I have introduced others. Great food with lovely staff and ambiance.
Plats délicieux et copieux !
Service un peu long mais personnel impeccable !
Superb flavours. Lamb chops, chicken tikka and rib-eye were magic. Fun place to eat
First time to dine in this place & it was great experience.
The weather was so hot & I recommend you install An AC during the summer time.
Great co-operative staff.
Good food. Felt a bit smoked after leaving the place, so better exhaustion would be welcome in the place. Service was very good as well!
Excellent service by Irena from Barcelona. Excellent food. Nice Argentinian Malbec to wash it down. 3rd or 4th time we've been there. Hasn't disappointed us yet. Keep up the good work😁.
The food was good and I was seated promptly. However I was rushed out of my seat when other guests had been there longer than me. That alone ruined my whole experience and I will not go back because of that. It's a shame that I was rushed from my table when other tables had been seated longer than myself. I understand there's a 2hr booking policy. If you're going to enforce it then it needs to be enforced on every table not just a select few. I don't appreciate being rushed to pay a bill and to leave my seat
Excellent food would definitely recommend but also suggest more air conditioning.
Absolutely amazing food. Loved it. Everyone in our party agreed. Lamb chops, tandoori chicken and cauliflower were superb. Great value for money. Will def be back.
Great food, especially the lamb chops.
Buzzy vibe in there. It does get hot, so be prepared!
Best Tandoori / grilled Indian food we tried in London.
Great food, but pretty terrible service, including being asked to vacate our table an hour after arriving.
This is a smallish place with a neighborhood feel. Only negative for us was the noise level, due to a lot of hard surfaces in a small space. But the service was outstanding and the food is very good. Not your typical Indian fare and a great alternative to the usual places. We,d go back.
Food is average- dry chicken. Over priced slightly
Great lamb chops. The food comes out very quickly. Would say the service was a little slow, didn’t bother us as we were very chilled and there on a Sunday. However, can see on a week day evening being a problem! However, happily go back for the lamb chops and chips! Great chutney too!
