Online bookings at Tangawizi can only be made directly on their website.
It was my husband's brithday and the resturant made it feel really special. Thanks alot!
Lovely evening with 12 guests handled with ease and attention. Great food and service as always.
We're a regular at Tangawizi. The food is always good, and the welcome is always friendly. I especially recommend the gobi mehboobi starter. On this visit, a friend was celiac. The waiter was very helpful in clearly explaining the gluten-free options.
great evening. Pan puri needed a kick. Rest of the food was v good
We had an excellent meal and first class attention. Even got a quiet table near the back.
We had a really lovely evening celebrating Mother’s Day at Tangawizi.
We often get takeaways, but haven’t eaten in the restaurant for quite a while and it was great!
We were so well looked after by the staff, and all the food was tasty and delicate.
And we particularly enjoyed the pani puri starter, ice cream parlour pudding and chocolate martini!
This was my third visit and as usual the service was amazing and the food even better. New favourite place to eat!
Food was lovely - lamb and chicken tender - really delicious . Friendly and attentive staff . Will definitely return !
Lovely food , great staff , great ambience . As always , Tangawizi never fails to velvet a great dining experience
Really fabulous restaurant with an amazing amount of choice (so many different curries!). Bound to put you in a good mood. Friendly and expert service and a great overall atmosphere.
Stunning food as always just as I remember! Lovely service to match. Pleasure to dine there always
Great food and excellent service! We will be back.
A few dishes were very tasty like the Goan Prawns and the cauliflower but others were disappointing, like the aubergine (lost in a sauce) and the soft shell crab (no crab flavour).
Good service and reasonably priced wines.
Awful ice cream. It was impossible to distinguish vanilla from coconut. The kulfi was unavailable.
Excellent food once again and great service. An Indian restaurant where you feel that your taste buds have been well served.
Great Food, Great ambience & great service. I would highly recommend this restuarant
Pricy, and a little timid with their spicing. Overall a good experience with very attentive staff and interesting dishes. Portions on the large size; could have almost cancelled our mains after the starters.
We've eaten at Tangawizi previously, but, before booking this time, read recent online reviews which were 'mixed', particularly those from around December 2017.
My guess is that either others expectations are were different and/or actual improvements have been made to address concerns.
We arrived on time, were promptly shown to a table and attended to for selection of 'starters', although I asked to order drinks first.
Having requested 4 Poppadums as an appetizer, only 2 were delivered (with a good and very tasty selection of accompanying 'dips') which, although not clearly stated anywhere must have been 'complimentary' with the extra 2 being charged at £1 each, ouch!
We (the two of us) shared a starter, my wife having ordered the Onion Bhajis, which weren't really needed after the Poppadums and dips. Bhajis appeared to have been pre-cooked and then re-done immediately before serving, which meant they were slightly overdone and not quite 'fresh'.
For my main I chose a 'medium/hot' chicken dish and was very pleased at just how 'mouth watering' it was. The bottle of water (in addition to beer) was a relief.
Plenty of meat and sauce to go with the separately ordered rice.
My wife had the Vegetable Biryani, which, unusually for us, was served with a bowl of Yoghurt.
Possibly a good idea because apparently the vegetables and rice were hotter (spicier) than average.
For: Service, Portion sizes, Service, Value for money.
Against: A little noisy (loud guests at other tables), but not a big deal, Onion Bhajis could be improved by being freshly made to order, kept waiting too long to pay when having received bill.
Yes, we probably will visit again....at the next Birthday! :-)
Very attentive staff made to feel very welcome and food and service was very good and would definitely revisit.
New Year’s Eve meal. Been going since it opened 14 years ago and standards still as high. The owner manager is great, friendly, discreet charming. All the waiters are excellent. Our waiter was from Gambia and worked there 12 years, even with a long commute. We are both vegetarian and there are a lot of options. The place looked full but it is designed so well that it feels intimate and cosy.
Always tasty. So lucky to have this place on the doorstep. Amazing, flavourful food with some lovely personal touches.
The staff are very friendly but respectful and the food is fantastic and always served at the perfect pace. I can thoroughly recommend to anyone that likes an update on Indian cuisine.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a friendly face and were attentively served. The food was delicious with some nice changes such as duck samosas. Creamy rich sauces and beautifully cooked. Excellent experience.
For "a local Indian" it's as good as one could hope for. Friendly & efficient service. Clients of all ages down to the youngest. A whiff of charcoal in the cooking and earnest cooking all round. Not quite in Richmond, but wish it was.
Lively and bustling on a Saturday night. Nice decor and very attentive service. But the food.... nothing terrible, but of the five dishes we ordered four (one chicken, three veggie) were the same bright orange colour and, to be frank, tasted the same. Only the green spinach dish, which was runny, broke the pattern.
So nothing to stop me recommending a nice place to have a meal but don’t expect good Indian cuisine
Really delicious food. Friendly, attentive service. Excellent value for money.
We have been here on a number of occasions and it gets better and better each time.
Food is amazing and the service is beyond excellent - so thamnkfuto have this local gem in our neighbourhood.
This place was a little too expensive for how small the portions were. The food was good, but not exceptional and again did not justify the price.
Food was delicious. The service was faultless. Highly recommended!!
Excellent meal and very helpful staff. We visited after the rugby and would strongly recommend for anyone looking for an above average meal (quite close to Richmond station as well).
Great tasting food, and advise from the owners. Highly recommended
We booked Tangawizi for lunch before a game at the rugby. Given the time constraints, the food came out quickly and all my guests enjoyed it.
The only real negative was that it was half an hour's walk from the ground and there are closer restaurants.
Friendly, efficient staff, prompt service, delicious food, sensible range of foods & reasonable value. Really enjoyed it
This long-established Indian restaurant mow needs updating and improved space and ambience.
Food was bland. Overpriced for what it was. Staff were very polite and friendly but unfortunately food was disappointing
Excellent service and food, a pleasure every time we visit
Enjoyed the meal and the restaurant. Will come again.
I've been visiting since it opened. Menu is wonderful and they change seasonally. Staff are professional, courteous and friendly. The owners are lovely too. Recommended to all who like to try a contemporary twist on Indian cuisine.
Service was exceptional, right from our arrival. We were spoilt for choice on the menu, and in the end went for a fixed menu with one extra main desired by one of our party. The cocktails were delicious - slightly slow in arriving, but probably there was a backlog. We jokingly said there wasn't enough food when the enormous number of dishes arrived for our starter selection - and they brought us one more! A fantastic experience and we look forward to returning.
