Lovely family evening at Tanswells on a very busy night. Service remained good however and the food was excellent as usual

Service was okay but menu was very disappointing. I had looked up the menu online in advance and already chosen what I was going to have. When we got there the menu available was only a small selection of the menu on the website and even then, two of the items on this menu were unavailable so there were hardly any options and honestly nothing i really liked. We did end up ordering something each and the food was okay, not anything spectacular. I’d really been looking forward to what i’d originally picked though so a little disappointed.

I ordered Fish and Chips with salad-the salad consisted of 2 soggy lettuce leaves. The fish was very dry-overcooked.
There was no table service we sat with plates of food as we had finished- sitting in front of us for 20 minutes.
The waiting staff were very indifferent-no service at all!
I would not recommend the Commercial Hotel for a meal.

Enjoyed my steak - cooked perfectly - rare! Great service by young staff under pressure. Would recommend!

Beautiful historic hotel with old world dining room charm and also the best steaks in town. Always friendly and great service, excellent knowledge of local wines.

Amazing, beautiful and friendly staff. Would highly recommend and will return again when visiting Beechworth.

We attended after having dinner there years before. Not disappointed in any way and our stay in Beechworth was delightful in every way with great service and pleasant staff. This venue is worth visiting.

The staff were great. I can't remember the man's name who was on Saturday, but he was great. When we are back in Beechworth, we will be sure to visit again.

Nice seating by the open fire. Enjoyed the friendly efficient service and food was yum and good value for money.

We had a wonderful lunch, the vongole pasta and baked gnocchi were superb along with a local Eldorado Rose. Fires were beautiful and warm and our waitress was fantastic.
Well worth a visit.
