Our waiter was pleasant and professional as were the others supporting the brand. And the woman aiding patrons using the woman’s bathroom was pleasant.

Good food; if you like your decent Chinese food with a scene, this is the place. But $88 for Peking Duck? Seemed a bit excessive. And...no iced tea available "we're out", said the waitress.

WOW YOU GUYS SUCK CHARGED ME $200.00 FOR TWO BOTTLES OF 70.00 DOLLAR WINE - WHICH WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN 140.00 AND CHARGED ME 10.00 DOLLARS FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER THAT WAS NEVER ORDERED - SO YOU OVERCHARGED ME 70.00 FOR A DINNER AND CHARGED ME FOR 2 CALIFORNIA ROLLS WHEN ONLY ORDERED ONE - SO OVERCHARGED BY 100,00- THIS IS THEFT

they ripped me off - willl not answer my calls or emails - sent pics to prove I was right - this restaurant will scam you - and then call you a liar - if you look at most of my reviews they are positive - I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISGUSTED BY A RESTAURANT LIKE TAO

unbelievable - the manager called me and said she would handle - never called back - I am so disgusted with this restaurant - THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND THEY DO NOT CARE

Came here thinking we made reservations for Restaurant Week Menu, was very politely told that only the downtown TAO has that menu.

We stayed and saw a delicious plate be placed at the table next to ours. I asked John, our host, what it was; he said: "Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with Wok Vegetables".

We order that. I then asked John what else he recommended he suggested the Triple Pork Fried Rice with Pork Belly, BBQ Roast Pork and Chinese Sausage to share.
We started with: Lobster and Shrimp Spring Roll with Shiitake Mushrooms and Spicy Pineapple Sauce and finished with Sorbet.

The meal was incredible! All the dishes were abundant and delicious. The atmosphere was exciting (although a little chilly, bring a shall.)

John made our meal delightful. He did not try to upsell us or looked down on us. We spent $40.00 more than what we would have paid with Restaurant Week's menu. Well worth the upgrade.

Food is wayyyy to salty. Disappointed that instead of having customer with huge baby carriage go back to his table a different route than making my handicapped mother take over 6 minutes to get up so that he can pass to his table. WTF?!? I believe she was the manager who did that and my response is one month old babies should not be in this restaurant with such a huge carriage of you are going to interrupt your other customer as they are about to eat their salty af dinner. So upset never coming back and now this location ruined it for me as I used to love the LA and Vegas one.

We were completely mislead. Tao is listed on the nyc.go site as participants in restaurant week. Upon arrival we were told that they weren’t participating but there sister location was. We decided to stay for dinner but felt mislead. The food was ok but not anything to write home about. Orange chicken was on the dry side. Dim Sum was ok but certainly not better than the Brooklyn chop house. Ambiance and service was the overall draw. Your local takeout place is probably better

Dinner was great. They were very accommodating when we changed our reservation last minute. Food was amazing and the chefs sushi roll was delicious too! Banana bread pudding for dessert was also amazing! I definitely miss the squab lettuce wraps and the dessert donuts! Bring them back!

My husband and I tried to celebrate our 15th anniversary at Tao uptown which was highly recommended. When we arrived we thought the loud music was only in the lounge area. It was so ridiculously loud, we couldn't have a conversation at a table for two after being seated. The booth like seat was very uncomfortable with absolutely no back support. We asked our server about a different table but she just looked over her shoulder and said there nothing without asking the hosting staff. She was not very helpful or knowledgeable with the menu and was also having difficulty communicating due to the the loud music. We came away with good tasting overpriced food with no fine dinning experience. I highly doubt I'll be returning to Tao.

A foodie home, we go all the time. All the dishes are tasty and well prepared. The decor is outstanding although the music could be a little loess loud. Service is great, and usually very personable. Cocktails are a must - we're hooked on Lychee Martinis, the best in town!

My meal came out cold. I had the Chilean Sea Bass. I didn’t enjoy it at all. I didn’t complain to the server cause it was my daughters birthday and I didn’t want to complain and ruin her day.

I’m from Toronto, Canada on vacation with my wife. This is my 3rd visiting this restaurant in the last 3 years and we love this place. It’s always a place on our to do list for a dinner date. The waitress are very kind and the environment is beautiful. They play good music and the food omg!!! Delicious 🤤

A noisy, extremely crowded with Millennials in skimpy clothes, closeness of all tables Covid 19 prone, and bossy supervisor overlooking all tables like madwoman is an understatement. Buzzing all around the tables were trones of employees that made the restaurant family experience a disaster. Next to me one of the busboys with his hands super full had a plate with semi consumed food that fell to the floor throwing porcelain and scarps of food flying all around. I had to take a Xanax after arriving home to settle down and relax. Will wait a couple of years to see if it’s still open for business.

I was very disappointed with service organized for large parties.
I specifically asked for separate checks and was promised to have 6 checks for my party of 11. Instead I got 1 check for 11 people and had to spend an hour just sharing the bill between attendees.
On the top of that, there was some downpayment which was promised to be billed at the end of the dinner. Instead of that my credit card was charged a week before and not refunded at the dinner despite of our full payment with cash for meal plus 30% for service and tax.
I would definitely not recommend for big group events.
