Plus, our convenient location near Paddington makes Taormina perfect for a business luncheon or dinner.
Excellent and authentic Italian restaurant close to our hotel. Great menu choices and superb wine choices to go with it. We shall be back.
Four of us dined here on a busy Sunday evening in September - the food was excellent, the staff efficient as well as entertaining and the ambiance superb! We will be back......
Little disappointed as we booked with meerkat 2-1 offer which they declined offering us 25% off our bill. Didn’t find them very pleasant shame as was so looking forward to our evening. Hopefully it was just a one off 😁
Lovely food fast and efficient service very friendly staff
Found through Open Table when looking for a pre-Prom dinner within easy walking distance of the Albert Hall. Restaurant was quiet as we were dining early. The afternoon shift staff were not very competent - I was amused that we were discussing wine choices with someone who didn't look old enough to be able to drink legally himself. Also the English ability was not brilliant. However the manager was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Food was good and reasonably priced. It arrived promptly and was fairly well presented. Wine choice was acceptable. We would go back under similar circumstances. As we were leaving the restaurant had really filled up and a more "mature" staff team had started for the evening shift.
Great place excellent food really good service
Friendly staff. Nice food. No complaints about anything.
This was our fourth time here and the welcome, service, food were all great as usual.
Taormina is the most wonderful Italian restaurant! When we are in London, we dine there as much as possible. The staff is always welcoming, and the food is superb. Thank you; we look forward to returning soon.
Top food great service. Overall a terrific place for dinner
We had a very good meal for a reasonable price in London.
Great food and service. Would highly recommended this place
Disappointed by this restaurant let down by its service. Yes the food was good but oh dear our waiter, just not good enough. Also not impressed by the food stains on the wall, looked like they had been there for weeks.
Absolutely loved the pasta and the appetizers were amazing as well. I understand the restaurant isn’t known for its pizza but the actual sauce/toppings were amazing it was just the dough that was a little off putting of the Italian ambiance (being Italian myself. Overall, would highly recommend! Great attentive staff and the pasta was incredible and very authentic. The price was also really affordable for the amount of food you get.
Lovely restaurant near Hyde Park with delicious food (and wine) and great staff with personality. Great atmosphere. Much recommended for dinner. We were able to sit outside just like in Italy on warm summer nights.
All very good, bustling atmosphere with locals and others, given nice table on own, service good, speedy without being too fast, good advice about food. Small but interesting wine list.
Four of us had a very enjoyable meal on 25th March. All our food was good - not exceptional but very acceptable. The service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant was busy for a Monday evening so there was a lively atmosphere, but the noise level was fine. I have been before and I shall go again!
Eccezzionale. Found this gem on Opentable, and it was near our hotel. Having lived in Italy, I am pretty picky about the food. Taormina did not disappoint. Good wine selection, great service, nice neighborhood. Tagliatelle con porcini ottimo.
The services was excellent, as well as the food. Must taste the spare ribs.
Went for a friend’s birthday meal. Really great. Fresh produce and lovely wine. Fantastic!
If you are looking for a quiet and a little old fashioned Italian restaurant then the Taormina Restaurant is the one for you. The decor and ambience are comfortable, the waiters are polite and attentive, and the food are typical Italian dishes. Nothing fancy but down to earth, something that you would expect to eat when out in Italy in a local restaurant. This was our first visit and we throughly enjoyed the experience and would return and recommend to friends.
Absolutely fantastic meal, prices are surprisingly very good. Small, genuine restaurant and I can't wait to come again
Did not have record of open table reservation and blamed me despite written confirmation. Said they have trouble with open table
Visited Taormina for a work lunch with colleagues, was very impressed by the menu. I personally wanted a dish that wasn't on the menu and to my delight the chef obliged. The food was fantastic and we were served relatively quickly.
Other little things impressed me and made me feel like I was eating good quality authentic Italian food. For example, we had excellent quality extra virgin olive oil at the table - it had that spicy/peppery aftertaste. Furthermore, the bathroom facilities at the restaurant were very good, modern and clean.
Honestly, my colleagues and I came away feeling very happy with the service and food at the restaurant. We know where to go next time we do a pay-day lunch and fancy authentic Italian food.
The food was good, the service was generally good but I had to wait bit or the bill, and best of all they not only found me a nice malt whisky but remembered all evening what i was drinking. I don't normally frequent the area but wanted somewhere near my friend. I found it on the internet which is always a bit risky, but will definitely go back next time I'm in the area
Food was very good, staff was excellent and engaging...kept us all laughing including our 14 yr-old son. Not many restaurants in this neighborhood; very lucky to have this one!
The pasta is clearly prepared beforehand and only reheated. While it didn't taste bad, this is unacceptable for a proper Italian restaurant.
During our trip to London We just happened to find this lovely resturant. The food was delicious and service friendly. We liked it so much we went back before leaving.
This is a gem of a restaurant, which was recommended by the hotel we were staying at. Lovely, authentic Italian food and atmosphere. Genuine, friendly staff.
Wish we could visit again, but Australia is a long way away :(
Very nice restaurant good service nice food would use again and recommend it
Simply delicious! Excellent service..there when they are needed but we never felt rushed. The pasta was outstanding...hot and very flavourful. My only criticism (and it is minor as it is common for most London restaurants) is the very tight spaces between and around tables. Would I go back? Absolutely!
I enjoy dining in neighborhood Italian restaurants wherever I am traveling. Taormina did not disappoint. Unfortunately, we ate a late lunch so none of use were very hungry. The food, service and ambience were wonderful and I wish I we could have eaten more.
Great staff and restaurant, one of the best brownie I have ever had.
Poor food, poor service and very expensive, I
Don’t recommend it!
Overall nice place and the staff were very good. We each had the Insalata Caprese which was good. My friend had a pizza which was unremarkable and I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese. It was nice serving size. Bolognese 2as just ok. Not much flavor. We both had Peroni which was served very cold..very nice on a warm day. We sat outside and it was wonderful. I want to explore more of the menu based on other reviews. Just on the ambiance and location, I really liked it and will go back.
Very disappointed pasta was not made fresh found out the next day only spaghetti is made fresh.
This restaurant was close to our hotel when we arrived in London after a tiring journey. The greeter was not very friendly when he showed us to our table. All the tables were very close together so it was difficult to not be distracted during our meal by a talkative couples conversation on the next table. The service was somewhat unfriendly by one particular waiter but his other colleagues helped cover for him and they were better. The food and drinks were good as we were hungry. We are unlikely to visit this restaurant again and do not plan to recommend it to others.
Food was ok but ‘dated Italian’. Meat ok but sauce on Veal very disappointing, like poor gravy made with flour. I mentioned this - that I preferred sauces made with more wine etc.
Bill high for what we got, £100 for 2, no coffee etc. No interest in what we booked for, food allergies etc.
Food is always of a consistently high standard. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, despite placing the Open Table booking about one and a half hours before, the staff said they didn’t know we were coming until 10 minutes before and were very busy. We did have to wait 15 minutes for our table, therefore, but they were apologetic and we received a free drink at the end of the meal.
