TAP - MGM Springfield
According to the manager, they do not honor Open Table reservations. So I can’t really say if it’s good or not since we were turned away with reservation from a Open Table
I was impressed with the food - the pulled chicken sandwich was really good and I'm usually disappointed with pulled chicken. Our waitress Yasmine was great & friendly, even when it was busy.
The one thing that dampened our experience was check in at the front desk. We made reservations via Open Table but was informed when we got there that they didn't use Open Table (although they had access to our Open Table reservation which was confusing) and we would have a 30 minute wait. I asked if there was someone I could speak with and Jaclyn told me she was the manager. She complained about Open Table and said they were trying to 'block them.' She then told me the Tap Room didn't take reservations except over the phone and only for parties of 10 or more. When I tried to give her some feedback (there's nothing about reservations on their web site at all), she continued to complain about Open Table. She was not friendly or helpful.
While we were waiting, a group of 4 approached the podium and said they had a reservation. They were seated immediately. When my husband asked the hostess why they were seated when we were told that they only took reservations for 10 or more, the woman immediately said 'it wasn't an Open Table reservation.' I'm still unclear on the Tap Room's reservation policy or if they use Open Table. I got this email for a survey and an email stating we were seating so there must be some communication.
To be fair, we were seated soon after the last interaction (around a 10 minute wait) but it seemed like all the confusion was unnecessary and put a damper on our evening. Hopefully, we will find an occasion to go back and things will be less stressful.
Got there a little early but we were still seated right away in a great spot. Went with my parents tonight, we had Taylor as a server and she was EXCELLENT. Thanks for a nice night out :)
Great place for a Birthday celebration rented 2 bowling lanes and had a blast. Our server was great and friendly would definitely go back!!
The first thing you notice with TAPS is the open room - it has a warehouse feel to it. The room has many TVs mounted everywhere so you will never miss the big game going on. Soccer, football, hockey - they were all playing.
As the name suggests there are many beer options, including craft beers. As it was late, I opted not to have one, but I would go back to sample.
We ordered the giant pretzel, fries pickle chips, Cobb salad with lobster and pulled chicken sandwich. Everything was very good except for the pulled chicken sandwich. The pulled chicken was soaking in mayonnaise - it was like a chicken salad. The bun wasn’t toasted and got soggy from all the mayo. I would not suggest this to anyone. The waitress noticed I didn’t eat it and took it off my bill without me even saying much about it. That was very nice of her and unexpected. Customer service was top notch.
All in all I would definitely go back and sample some other foods. They appetizers all looked so delicious as they were being carried by to other guests!
Great menu, and even better beer selection. Our waitress was great-we will for sure be back!
Great food. Had the hamburger which is two burgers and the Reuben. Great service also
Weekends and evenings can be busy, creating a long line to get in (15-30 mins). Sunday (“football only”) house rules not good for Sox fans. Once Sox started in ALCS, it’s better. Best bet, sit at bar if you are interested in watching a game. Seating not according to your request. TVs hard to get changed once seated... manager only controls. Food ok/good... fish & chips best on menu... pretzel 2nd best in Springfield!
Extremely slow service. Hopefully this is just first week new kitchen training wheels.
Went with my 2 best friends and we had a blast .. Shot out to our waiter Sarah!!!
