Tapas Brindisa, Shoreditch
3 course menu: Traditional £35 / Vegan £27
We found this site on Curtain Road in 2012 and fell in love with its wide-open glass front and terrace. Brindisa Shoreditch is inspired by our travels from Cádiz to Catalonia with its Mediterranean bar and restaurant vibe.
Alongside our seasonal tapas menu, bar snacks and cured plates we serve Alicante style rices. If you haven’t tried one of our Paella Marinera (seafood paella) or Arroz Negro (black squid rices) you haven’t lived.
£14 express lunch menu | Open till late | Kitchen & bar counter dining | Andalusian style terrace | Wine, vermut & craft beers on tap | Bar snacks, tapas & rice | Group dining & private hire
We're open till late
Very disappointed with the restaurant. Very unautenthic food, heavy waiting on dishes, kitchen even forgetting some. To top it all didn’t know how to calculate a 40% discount on a bill (code app). Already told my friends to avoid
Had a great meal on New Year’s Eve in a group, it wasn’t too busy and good ambience. However service was often slow and although they apologised the automatic 12.5% service charge felt a little bit of a joke. Overall good meal and would go again in a group.
We arrived and it was quiet however, soon became very busy which was ok although the tables are packed together so if you are looking for a little more space this is probably not the right restaurant for you.
We were given the opportunity to try the wine before making a final choice which was fortunate as our first choice really wasn’t good. Food was average. Disappointingly, we needed to remind staff that after a 45 minute wait not all out food had arrived!
Authentic Spanish tapas, nice wine and pleasant service
I've already recommended this place to all my friends, and I will probably go back again this weekend. Sit at the high top for better atmosphere. The terrace outside was warm and cozy. The sangria was flowing!
service wasn't bad, but we had multiple members of staff at one point and then everyone disappeared leaving us with no refreshments.
Great selection of tapas from the “usual” to slightly more exotic. Very tasty, good portions.
Tasty Spanish food. Great atmosphere and decent service to boot. Very buzzy and you can sit at low or high tables. Open kitchen too. Fab
I booked this on spec from some of the other reviews and because I was looking for a tapas restaurant. It was excellent and Shoreditch is a brilliant part of London. The staff were excelllent, the food was really good and my only slight issue was the paella probably not as good as some I have had in Spain but the other tapas really good. The ambience and relaxed feel was really good.
Great food and service. Just wished the tabes weren’t so squeezed in. It was a mission to get up and pop to the toilets without moving tables. Would have been 5 star otherwise. X
Our waitress was not very welcoming, food was expensive and you didnt get much and it was very bland. I had booked a table but we were seated at a bar with uncomfortable stools. I will not come back
I was there for my birthday, the place is cool, the food is good but very expensive I mean for the poor portions! Tapas were ok, but according my opinion 23£ for “selección de ibéricos” is quite expensive and very “very” poor portion!
The service is quite good a part they even pleased us with small cake like everyone in London does for birthday party, it’s fine but is useless for open table specify the occasion when they don’t give the right service.
Friday night dinner with 4 friends. Great food and wine, especially the monkfish, Patatas Bravis, chorizo and house red wine. Attentive but not overbearing service. A great choice of restaurant in a good location. Only negative was being sat near the door and a little cold.
Good tapas, reasonable portions and good variety of dishes with a twist.
Great food, good wine, perfect spot for business lunch or a date.
Curious. An almost empty restaurant when we arrived early evening, but teaming with FOH staff. Yet it took 4 requests to get the bread basket topped up (3 toasted slices originally offered for my party of 5). As they always say, it’s the little things...
Fantastic food, service & atmosphere.
Really enjoyable spot!
I went there with friends on a Saturday night. The food was good but nothing special, I just found it a bit expensive. I would advise to take huevos rotos.
Really amazing food and atmosphere! The downside really would have been that some dishes took a really long time to come (some almost an hour after ordered, and not the rice dishes that do say on the menu they take a little longer). Even the tortilla española took 45 minutes.
Totally chaotic service
Wouldn’t go back
Lovely little place, you would walk past it if you didn't know it was there. Good food, great vibe, I went for my leaving meal with two friends at lunchtime in October/November and it wasn't too busy. Drinks were well priced for the location, and the food was delicious.
First we were sitting at a table where plates were really dirty and still at grease on, not great for a place a bit expensive like this. We had to call the waiters to order, the food was average and soo pricey for what it was (a slice of goats cheese for £8?) and the sangria didn't really taste like it even had alcohol in it so overall not the best experience to have 5 average tapas, bread and sangria for two for a total of £84..
Lovely food and staff, cocktails 5* would definitely be back
The food was very good and reasonably priced. Found the waitress a bit pushy whilst eating which was annoying. Other than that everything else was good.
Lovely relaxed lunch to celebrate my birthday. All the team were friendly & looked after us well. Good food & wine & a lovely surprise when they bought out some almond flan with a birthday candle in it. I will be back
Need more options for vegetarians
Lovely food, drink, service, I've been back many times and it's always good times . Thank you xxx
Amazing food! Would love to come back ASAP no hassle to book ! Wine list is very good!
Some excellent dishes on the menu, the hot tapas was great across the board; Gambas, Croquettes and Pan de Coca were especially good (and authentic!). Iberico ham (de belotta) was disappointing - especially at the price; depth of flavour minimal and portion size far in excess of the £22/order (I suspect this was low grade with minimum maturity level). Positively, this was outweighed by fast service, vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff.
Terrible value for money. Dishes are tiny and barely touched the sides. Ordered 8 dishes between 5 and we were all still hungry ended up going elsewhere for a second dinner. Don’t recommend far better options in Shoreditch
Fabulous service and great food . The staff were knowledgeable and friendly .
The food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxing and trendy at the same time.
Good location and easy to get to x
Food was ok but nothing special for Spanish tapas. Fideua was burnt. The place was very busy and extremely noisy. Service was very good
Great knowledgeable and helpful service. Tasty food - gambas, huevos and chorizo were the highlight.
Really good tapas. The usual stars plus innovative takes on paella and other seafood dishes. The iberico ham was also superb!
Can’t fault - recommend for a great night. We were well looked after, lots of smiling and general good vibes
Great food, love the menu. Great for big groups. Second time visiting and delivered on both occasions.
Excellent restaurant, amazing food, brilliant staff. Great place to eat Spanish in London.
Overall some great tapas, only disappointing dish was the sardines. Good atmosphere and good value
Love seating area outside but the ambience wasn’t quite right that night and the service was sluggish and without a smile. That said, the food was excellent as always - when they remembered to bring the plates out.
