Tarshish represents the east meeting west in a marriage of modern aesthetics with traditional sentiments. The euphoria that arises from the theatrics of tasty Turkish cuisine and the therapeutic shisha can be discovered on the shores of the UK and in particular, Tarshish. Despite the modern, chic surroundings which keeps guests comfortable; with every bite and every puff, they are reminded of the fusion of centuries-old cultures, the passage of time which it took for Tarshish to come into existence.

Tarshish Ratings and Reviews
Lovely evening staff were very attentive meal exquisite would recommend to friends and families I have dined there before and would go again again and again food is so fresh I'm going to,have to try and eat less just so I'll have room for their lovely desserts 😀😀😀😀
Only thing I forgot to take pictures of our meals 😕 Sorry
The restaurant brings a very classy look to it's location (Wood Green). It is very beautiful. The top floor has an open roof so it has a great view and is best enjoyed during the hot weather. The open roof also means that there is breathing space for everyone (lol)
The food is a creative twist from the usual Turkish/Mediterranean restaurants. They serve mac & cheese with majority of their main dishes.
Food is pricey, however it comes in big portions so you definitely get your money's worth.
My group & I ordered starters, so by the time the mains arrived we were already quite full therefore we took the food home.
They have a good variety of drinks, cocktails and mocktails which were a major hit for my friends!
Service from all the waiters/bar staff was excellent!
Please note: If you are celebrating your birthday here, the restaurant charges £10 if you are bringing your own birthday cake. They do have dessert options for birthday celebrants which start from £7.
Its worth weighing the difference of having a slice of cake for £7 by yourself, or paying £10 to bring your own cake which you can share with all your guests (I chose the latter)
There is a dress code as well which you may want to let your guests know before they show up at the restaurant. (No hoodies, tracksuits, flip flops)
Group bookings: The restaurant will only seat you once ALL your guests have arrived. So if you have booked for 20 people, you want to make sure everyone is there promptly (or at least within the 15 minute window before your table is reallocated)
Also note there is a fixed 12.5% service charge on all bills.
There are a number of stairs to climb before reaching the beautiful top floor (You may want to consider this if you have guests who experience difficulties in climbing stairs)
Overall the restaurant was great and I will be back again. Lots of "rules and regulations" to abide with, however I guess this is just to help manage the restaurant effectively.
Is a lovely restaurant. The only thing that spoilt our evening is the fact that we never got a window table or rooftop table as requested when one of the staff called me to confirm. There was a table near the window when we arrived We were told that the window table was for a reservation for eight people. Not sure why we were told that because we we there till 11.30pm and the table was empty the whole time. Would have been a perfect evening otherwise.
Service exceptional, especially when the waiters come to fill your glass of water for you again and again, that's when you know there's a sense of professionalism from the staff keeping and eye on you making themselves available at all times.
If only the windows had a better view!
Amazing food, amazing views and great service. Staff were very friendly and accommodated to our needs. They were flexible, sociable and approachable. Amazing views especially when its sunny/sunset. When it got a bit chilly they closed the roof which was nice and considerate. The food was divine!!!
Food was delicious especially the lamb shank with mashed potato. My bf had the grilled chicken and loved it. Mac n cheese is a little bland. Only complain would be that despite booking a table we still had to wait approx 20-25 minutes to be seated. Once seated service was perfect. Food didn't take too long to come out. Inside restaurant is lovely especially the rooftop. Lovely
For a birthday meal
Food was outstanding - really good flavours and presentation (we opted for the mixed grill and the kulbasti). Meat was juicy and tender and full of flavour and the fillet was so soft and perfectly cooked. Mac and cheese accompaniment is a nice alternative. The decor and large windows are great, it's just a strange location being above some shops in Wood Green. If this was Southbank or on top of a nice central London location, this would be one of the best Turkish restaurants you could go to. Saying that, it's nice to have a fancy restaurant with great food beyond central London.
Service: was good at first, but then the restaurant became quite busy so we saw the waiters much less in our section. Had to walk up to request the bill but overall, very friendly and attentive.
Value: prices are a bit high given you are in Wood Green, but then given how good the food was, i'd definitely go back - though more for a special occasion given my budget!
I throughly enjoyed my meal as always. Being my 3rd time going to Tarshish and being a very different occasion from the two previous times. I find the restaurant good for all occasions, no matter with a partner, friends or family. The staff are warm, welcoming and cordial. And the manager remembered me from the previous visits, even with the indlux of neemw clients. Whixh I found very comforting. I am still looking forward to returning and tasting more of the vast menu. As well as the strong and tasty cocktails. And with the current expansion onto the roof for a sheesha garden and bar come this summer.
Tarshish will definitely be the number one spot in North London.
We had a lovely time here - we came as a friends get together after one of us had just got engaged. Ambience was perfect, it felt like we were in central London! Service was great, when booking I made a note to ask if we could have a top floor table as I wanted to be special for my friend and they did not disappoint! Food was amazing love the Mac and cheese combo with the meals very different and unique. We had such a great evening the atmosphere and vibe was perfect - Looking for my next excuse to return...
Excellent in every way possible, especially the service which was beyond excellent. Lovely décor, attentive and friendly staff and very tasty food (large portions!). We went for a friend's birthday, the venue was a surprise, and she couldn't have been more pleased. It is local to where I live but worth the drive if not. This was my 6th visit and can't wait to go again. Highly recommend but need to book well in advance.
Great restaurant and really nice environment for a special celebration. Really disappointed with the disabled access with no lifts, especially with the stairs being so steep. My mum has a foot injury and it was very difficult for her. Also, waiters didn't know much about parking in the local area which was a shame
We went for the first time on Saturday evening for my husband's birthday and to celebrate exchanging on our new house. The atmosphere was excellent, classy and romantic which made the venue feel special.
The food was excellent and the menu is varied with good portion sizes. Both my husband and I really liked what we ordered and its good value for money considering the quality.
We also really enjoyed the singer - she was really good!
The service was good on the whole but we were made to wait for a while for a table (despite reversing a table a week beforehand). One of the staff said "we cant give them table 10 - I am keeping that for some VIP people coming in soon" - this was a little rude, especially to say that in front of us! Obviously my husband and I are not VIP's but I felt a little under valued at that point! We also had to wait a while for our order to be taken and for the bill but to be fair the restaurant was busy.
On the whole it was a good experience - the feel of a central London up market restaurant but reasonably priced and in an area which is easy for us to get to!
I definitely want to go back in the summer when hopefully the roof will be off on the top floor and we can enjoy al fresco dining!
If you want great food with a nice atmosphere to make it feel special definitely try this place - its a great place to take someone on a date!
Great New Years Eve party!
Even though we did't have the option to choose the set menu for £50 per person when we made our reservation, the staff on reception were very efficient in finding a table for 6 on the second floor. We were very happy that we could enjoy a mediterranean grill while listening to live music. Thank you for that :)
The waiter looking after our table was friendly and polite, very responsive to our requests. Thank you Hussain for the Berry Crush Mocktail. (I hope I remember your name correctly. In fact, I would suggest management team to provide name batches for all staff).
Tarshish is definitely a place that we will choose again.
It stands out in that area.
Well done everyone!
Great venue beautiful new setting. Really liked it. The service was absolutely brilliant. The only problem is the food. Everything comes with mac and cheese. Very blant and random with chicken shish. The chicken was good but the combination of things on the plate A bit random
At last, a modern fabulous restaurant near where I live! Turnpike Lane is not the most salubrious of places but when dining in this restaurant, you could be in a top west end venue or even New York. Couldn't fault the food, service, ambience and value. Bar area is very inviting. There is also a roof garden which is not yet open but will be when the weather is warmer. Just one critique, there are many stairs to go up to the restaurant and no disabled access. Anybody with a disability or elderly people would find it very difficult. I will definitely go back.
