   With 13.5% service we were additionally encouraged to add “Optional Service”. Excessive and unnecessary.

This is clearly stated on our menus and bills, and our team is always happy to remove the service charge if a guest prefers.    Booked for 5.30 as we were due at the Old Vic for 7.30. Starters were fine but then there was a very long wait for mains. We had to enquire how much longer on 2 occasions. When the food eventually arrived it was tepid. Which is such a shame as the chicken was so excellent, just not so nice when eaten nearly cold. And I hate to have to eat really quickly, especially meat dishes, but we were up against timing for the start of the performance. We were not the only ones in this anxious state as the tables around us seemed to be asking staff where their food was too. Tas is in such a great position on The Cut. It is a pity they can't seem to get the timings and service right and in view of the prices, not great value for money.

   Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, especially as your visit was ahead of a performance at the Old Vic. We always aim to serve dishes promptly, but as all of our grills are prepared à la minute and served directly from the grill, some waiting time can occasionally occur - particularly during busy pre-theatre periods. That said, we did not receive any complaints about delays on the evening in question, which makes your comments all the more important for us to review. We appreciate your kind words about the quality of the chicken and are disappointed to hear it wasn’t enjoyed.    Always enjoy eating at Tas The Cut. The food is excellent, and the portion size is perfect. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend.

   It’s always a good experience at Tas, the food and service never disappoints. A late (10pm) post-theatre dinner is doable there as, unlike most other places, the kitchen is still open; which is good news as the food is well prepared and tasty. We went with the house wines which are appropriately Turkish, very drinkable and great value. Throw in the service - friendly, calm and unpressurising - and it makes for a good time.

   Friendly, efficient service in a lively restaurant, very handy for theatre-goers visiting the Old and Yong Vics. The food was very good and excellent value. Recommend d booking, especially if you prefer a quiet table near the window - and what a relief not to have piped music!
