I am a fan of Tapas and this restaurant provides incredible food. First time we went but it wont be the last! Highly recommended
Outstanding! The food was amazing and the menus were extensive without being overkill. They took time to explain their signature dishes and guided you without being pushy. I absolutely recommend that you eat here - you will not be disappointed.
The food is excellently prepared and flavoursome but monumentally overpriced.
One of the "nibbles" we ordered were the boquerones. These require minimal preparation or presentation. They are priced at £5.80. For this you get 5 (yes, that's right. FIVE) Boquerones. That means they weigh in at £1.16 each!!
One pepper croqueta (about the size of a date) £2.
Yet, the best (or worst) was yet to come. We ordered the poussin chicken/cuttlefish rice. This is on the menu as a dish for two. It was barely a dish for one. It was very tasty and beautifully prepared but was a poussin (i.e very small) chicken placed on a layer of rice that was literally (and I do not exaggerate here) one grain thick. The entirety of the rice collected together did not come close to filling my side plate. Now I know that food is not about amounts but at £37 for this dish I expect to feel as if I have eaten a bit more than a light snack. I pointed this out to the maitre d' but he simply said they needed to get bigger pans. No they don't. Just put a decdent amount of food in the ones they have!!
Frankly, the prices are a bloody cheek.
I'm not tight, eat out a lot and am happy to pay the right money for quality food, but this is way over the odds. The food is good but not exceptional enough to justify the cost.
The service is ok but should be better. A bit inattentive but friendly when you catch their eye. However, when I tried to call earlier in the day to ask to be seated outside I received no answer on the 6 times I called. I asked my son, who was nearby to drop in to ask them. 3 members of staff stood chatting in his presence as the phone rang (probably my 7 th call) but did not answer it. Why, I do not know.
So all-in-all, good food. Tiny amounts, Huge prices.
Try for yourself, but be prepared to have to eat later.
Food and presentation was fantastic. We struggled to find a fault with any of the dishes we ordered. Amazing flavours and fresh, high quality produce.
The service was also excellent - really accommodating, polite and attentive staff.
The atmosphere was probably my favourite part. The on street bar seating feels like you’re abroad and the upstairs restaurant is light and airy but tastefully decorated.
Great Food! It was a good date night. Would go back there again.
Couple of points for feedback:
* We asked for cocktail menu's at the end for a digestives, this was not provided.
* Card Machine was not working, they made us feel that it was down to our credit cards rather than the machine, until I said change the machine and the card went through.
* Couple next to us (looks like they knew the owner), however got better treatment than others in the room e.g. free glasses of wine + free starters. Totally understand about being friends or family of the owner, however, it doesn't look right when there are guests in the room.
Excellent. The food was outstanding and service pleasant.
The wine list is rather pleasing.
Bifold doors that open out onto the street may be a good idea in Barcelona.. but not in Manchester, even in June. Cold guests, cold food, service wasn’t particularly polite. The food was good though, and we were given a blanket. Pretty pricey for a tapas too.
Excellent food and great service in a relaxed setting.
Fantastic ...will definitely go back
Great food and first class service
Some of the food was not good value for money. Particularly the cheese board and the croquettes.
The staff were wonderful.
The wine was lovely.
Delicious food with well prepared traditional Spanish dishes but also innovative twists on the classics . Attentive staff
It was a sunday night so quiet, but excellent food, really knowledgeable waiters, allowed us to try some wine before we picked a bottle, really enjoyed it
From walking through the door we made to feel most welcome, with attentive but not intrusive service. The food is exceptional and the experience a bit different from the usual high end restaurants. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.
