Loved our meal at the restaurant, the bar is very good and plenty of cocktails on the menu and very delicious too. The ambiance in the restaurant is good the food delightful,
Beautiful venue with amazing food and great staff. Caters for all dietary requirements (including vegan)! Would definitely recommend.
Amazing food and lovely surroundings - service was great too
Great service, super friendly staff and amazing food. Perfect for a special occasion.
It’s a happy birthday celebration
I was sat underneath an air conditioning unit so was uncomfortable for the entire meal. The food came out semi warm and almost too quickly after each part. It felt like we were rushed and the staff did not attend to us once our main was out. Aesthetically pleasing place but the food, the place we were sat and the service was definitely not the price we should have paid. Would not visit again, have been to far better places for less money.
I would recommend Tattu to a friend, the restaurant is stunning, staff are very friendly and the food is lovely. However, we had to wait a considerable amount of time for our food, it was well over an hour before we were served our starters, we were also served by several different waitresses for drinks and it got very confusing. Because of that we felt a bit ‘forgotten’ it was also a bit cramped in the booth for 6 people. Would I return? Maybe, with a smaller group. We paid a lot of money and I really wanted to come out of there singing it’s songs and praises but left feeling a little bit undecided. Maybe next time we will have the full package.
On the whole is was a nice experience, initial service and welcome were very good, wait for food more than I would expect. Starters were amazing ribs and crispy pork definitely recommended. Had to wait an age for the mains with little service or interaction, my main was nice, my partners was poor and sent back so I ate on my own as did she when hers arrived which spoilt it a little. I expected more for the cost and won’t be in a rush to go back. The mains were free at the end but even that was not explained just a bill arrived with no main courses, nice touch but could have been a whole lot better.
Couldn’t fault it! Will be back!!!
Beautiful restaurant lovely food but very expensive
Beautiful inside, very romantic and very busy. We had the set menu lunch and the starter was amazing, mushroom crispy spring rolls, however the main meal which we both had was completely different, even to each other. The chicken had been cooked and sliced and then a sauce put on the side, not marinated, no wasabi garnish which was in the description and therefore very disappointing. Pudding was very nice.
Very nice place to go and will return. The restaurant manager made a point of saying hello and made the experience very personal.
Great menu food was excellent good atmosphere and decor. Inexperienced staff and seemed to be under staff slow service and lack of attention.
Perfect food, drinks and service. Can’t wait to go back
Fabulous service from our waitress. She was very knowledgable about the foods, gave us good advice in the quantity etc and recommended certain dishes to accompany others. Service was amazing and the food was absolutely outstanding!
We ended up dining for 3 hours because the service was extremely slow and the main course took one hour to arrive after we had finished the starters. Waiters were not attentive, however when they eventually arrived they were very nice. Because of the extremely slow service I was very very disappointed with the restaurant especially having booked it for my husbands birthday. As the service was so slow, the waitress moved us for our dessert to another table so that they could make way for a huge group of people. This could have been avoided had our food come on time. Furthermore, we ordered one rice, two were brought around. This was rectified and taken off our bill which was good of the management. The starters tasted and looked excellent. Of the main dishes, we ordered a chicken main and the mushroom hot pot (the former was good, the latter was awful, we ate it anyway as unfortunately we were just grateful our mains eventually arrived).
A beautiful restaurant and a great asset to Birmingham!!
Very classic in design , only problem was the noise level
Really great service, not much veg options, and food wasnt as amazing as i thought it was going to be. But a beautiful venue non the less.
Went for wife’s birthday meal, place looks great, very classy atmosphere with the far eastern touch, the customer service was very polite, but for a premium place like that I wouldn’t expect anything less. When we were first seated we got a decent private spot but not in the main area with the nice decor, it was a little darker in lighting but still nice, I did politely ask if I could get a better seat and they did manage to get us a better seating area in a booth at the main area with all the nice blossoms which to be fair is where you want to sit if your paying for that place.
The food was nice but not mind blowing, however keep in mind due to the alcohol in some of the main dishes are selection was restricted so that would have had an effect in the options. Like I wasn’t able to eat the duck or the main chicken dish. But the food was nice and I really enjoyed the lotus flower starter. Reminded me of a similar Bangladeshi traditional fried flower dish.
They added a nice extra touch by giving a complimentary sparkly cup with ample effect as it was noted as my wife’s birthday on the notes along with a small cracker. So that was cool and they had a really well presented fudge brownie desert which again came with a cool smoke mist effect, it’s basically what you pay for, the experience more then the food and it was a very nice experience.
Customer service of the people who served us including who I assume is a manager with a red tie was exceptional, I’m a Lecturer but I don’t dress like one, so sometimes you can get Pre judged by staff who assume you don’t belong, I never felt that here, I felt comfortable & staff had a warm presence.
Overall I’m happy with the trip, it’s not somewhere we’d go regular as even without alcohol it was close to £100 for the meal for two. So more of a special occasion restaurant, but definitely a nice spot to take someone special or have a premium work due. I give the overall experience & atmosphere 4 Shah’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👌🏾
We visited for our anniversary and although the food we had was lovely, I think the price was a little steep. It’s clear that Tattu are wanting that ‘higher end’ restaurant feel but overall don’t achieve it. If you’re going to have your food priced the same as many Michelin’s within the area, then you need it to be the quality of the Michelin’s within the area. Overall it wasn’t the price or the food that bothered us, it was the service. We were served by George who was fantastic and very professional but all the waiters and waitresses were awful and highly unprofessional. They were loud, huddling around near our table chatting and laughing. We both said we felt like we were at Nando’s or Wagamamas not a restaurant that’s meant to be ‘high end’. Unfortunately this set the tone for the whole evening as we couldn’t concentrate on talking to one another due to a loud waitress shouting next to us. The service wasn’t much better upstairs as one young girl ignored us and instead answered the reception phone shouting ‘yo!’. Tattu is absolutely beautiful and the marble bar area upstairs is also gorgeous, just a shame about the poor service and lack of professionalism. We won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend anybody going for a nice romantic meal but I would recommend it for some lunch or a visit with a group of friends.
Hi Beth, Many thanks for your review about your Tattu experience. We are extremely disappointed to hear your visit was anything less than perfect. Here at Tattu we take our customer experiences v very seriously. If you so wish, please contact us directly at email@example.com to discuss this in further detail. We look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Tattu
An amazing experience. 2nd time here. Great ambience. Amazing food. Can't fault it.
Stunning venue & fabulous food! Staff would friendly, attentive and informative. Quite expensive but it was a lovely treat for my partner’s birthday! Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back.
Ermmmm...it was ok! The service was awful and the waiter would only talk to the boys!!! Everytime I tried to ask or say something he would tell me to be quiet 😳. They were really funny about my allergies and we had to fight hard to stay as they didnt want to serve me at all!! Couldnt have any cocktails 😪. Some food was amazing and then some was a bit too complicated that it ruined the taste. It was bloody expensive but company was good and I didnt pay as it was my birthday treat! 😂
while the starters & the deserts were delicious, our main meals left a lot to be desired. Also our waitress was extremely inattentive, we were left for significant amounts of time with no drinks, at one point having to get the attention of another member of staff. After this our waitress simply ignored us, preferring to serve the tables sitting either side of us. Considering the amount that we paid for food and drinks, I expected better service and not to feel completely ignored on my birthday when I’d been so looking forward to visiting Tattu.
Wonderful evening with fabulous food. Extremely attentive and accommodating. Explained the menu perfectly and would definitely visit again
Fabulous experience, gorgeous food and wonderful service. Truly perfect meal 💚 we will definitely be returning to this restaurant. Outstanding evening celebrating my birthday.
My second visit this year and could not fault it once again.
Will definitely be returning
Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the service was outstanding. We tried the taster menu, beautifully presented food and tasted delicious too! The cocktails are also worth a mention as they were fab too!! Highly recommend this restaurant especially for a romantic date or a special occasion
Really enjoyed our meal, we had the number 3 tasting menu and was blown away. Lots of food and the taste was exquisite. Highly recommend.
Our server Maria was very nice, as it was our first time visiting she recommended cocktail and food. She was very pleasant throughout.
Food was fantastic.
Amazing food so delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Really enjoyed a romantic dinner with my husband.
Fantastic ambience and food. Very friendly staff. Didn't get on to our table until 10:30pm when it was originally booked for 10:00pm, which was the only disappointment of the night.
My friend and I had booked months in advance for a birthday night out. Upon arrival, we were told we would not be able to dine as my friend has a gluten allergy. Allegedly, the restaurant could not, on this weekend, allow anybody with a food allergy or intolerance to eat as they could not guaruntee that the food would be safe. We were told that they had tried to make contact to inform us, which they had not. I had no phone call or email, despite receiving an email one day prior asking us to confirm we were coming. We asked to speak to a manager and were directed to the bar. The manager on duty (4/10/19) was abrupt, did not appear to understand our frustration. He told us he would invite us back and MIGHT be able to get us a free bottle of prosecco. He did not appear to care as we were only a table of two. He did not offer to reimburse us for the two drinks we had whilst waiting to be rudely told that it was not worth his staff's time to call 600 guests to check for allergies. There was then a laughable £2 service charge on the drinks tab. During this, we overheard multiple staff members approaching guests apologising for various inconveniences. We left and told the manager that we would not be returning. For a high end restaurant, the customer service we received was abysmal.
As a party of 6 we were seated in a booth that would have been adequate for 4, but certainly not 6 adults, which meant eating with your arms down by your side or with just a fork. The food was pleasant, although noodles salty, but not hot and was for all intents a 'posh' Chinese. Visually it was a feast for the eyes and the music good and our waitress was delightful, but the positives were not enough for us to return nor recommend...very much Style over Substance.
My friend has a food allergy. There had been an incident involving a customer and allergens earlier in the week. The restaurant refused to serve my friend so she had to sit and watch us eat.
We absolutely loved our evening at Tattu. Our server Ines made the night even more special. The food was amazing and the service was second to none.
Thank you for topping of our celebrations
Service was amazing and well worth it’s money. Gorgeous environment and the cocktails went down well! Maria our waitress was lovely and very attentive!
Great food, great venue, great service. A thoroughly enjoyable meal!!
