We visited the Tattu Manchester 2 years ago & really enjoyed our experience. Once I found out they were opening another restaurant in Birmingham I jumped at the chance to make a booking once the dates opened up in December to eat in February! I booked Saturday 16th Feb as this was close to Valentine’s Day so me & my partner could celebrate & travel to Birmingham for the weekend. As I had pre booked this table 3 months in advance I had specified on the booking that we sit under the main blossom tree. Once we arrived we sat at the bar for a drink which was lovely & a lady came to seat us to our table when it was ready, once we were taken downstairs we asked about our table as it was not under the blossom tree. The lady told us that they cannot fulfil everyone’s requests which we understood but felt disappointed as this had been booked for 2 months. The table we ended up with & our server Ros were lovely, he was extremely helpful & friendly bullring good rapport with us at the start & helped us choose our food. He did try to help us get a table under the blossom tree however the only one available was an end table in a busy part of the restaurant so we declined. The food & drinks were delicious however we were not checked on that regularly. At the end of the meal when we were leaving the staff were not that helpful when we asked for a photo together & no one said thank you or goodbye. We ended up being quite disappointed with our meal at Tattu Birmingham as we had been looking forward to this for months.
Decor and ambiance spot on. Service was good but not excellent. Don’t like it when they automatically add service charge for a table of 4 that is annoying. Considering the very high prices the food was just average which was disappointing. Won’t be rushing back as there are much better places with great food in Bham.
Seated half hour late , starters and mains were lovely but my main was Luke warm I didn't complain because it was Valentine's Day and I didn't want to be rude lovely atmosphere and place though
Good for the experience however the food at other Asian restaurants is a lot more authentic and flavourful
Fantastic evening, waitress was great too! Food was really good and great atmosphere
I surprised my boyfriend to valentines lunch for something a little bit different and Tattu is so much more than a little bit different. It’s class and amazing food beautifully intwinned. The restaurant is beautiful, a really varied characteristic of staff and lovely ambience! Would return!
Staff were extremely friendly and attentive but the table near us was extremely rowdy and we were put on a table that looked like it had been randomly set up at the side
We went there after our very low key wedding registry. Heard great things about Manchester branch, was looking forward to our home town one. We enjoyed everything, service was fantastic, food was lovely in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything was as expected, we left satisfied. Would this be our monthly place to visit? Unlikely. Although food was great, its not very exciting. Looking forward to seasonal mrnu changes.
Our waiter Becky (i believe her name is) was so helpful and attentive whilst helping us pick our food. The menu was so nice that it was difficult for us to pick out what we wanted. I would most definitely come again! We had a great lunch!
What a stunning place! The food was properly amazing and the service excellent and attentive. We had a great eve, only marred by a bafflyingly long wait for dessert! Would definitely return soon and often, a great addition to Birmingham's culinary community.
Nice dining restaurant
But food ... black bean veg chicken is sweet which is suppose to be salty dish
All the steam dim sum the wrap are too thick and all very mushy inside filler .
It was beautifully decorated and the starter and dessert were great, main vegetarian chicken was bland. Our waiter wiktoria was great but maybe a bit too attentive which became annoying as she kept interrupting our conversation. Overall very good.
Service was great but food took a very long time to come out and a few dishes was not very fresh which was a bit of a disappointment. We were offered a round of drinks after giving our comments which was a lovely gesture. Also, as it was an open kitchen, seeing a bearded chef right in front of me with his long hair hanging out and nibbling on the food he was preparing was not a pretty sight!! Overall, enjoyed the cocktails and new dishes and would go again after everything has been established.
Excellent food service was spot on. Beautifully presented 👌👌
Wow! A beautiful birthday experience. All aspects get 5 stars....the gorgeous ambience, delicious food, exceptional service & incredible cocktails - fabulous! Thank you so much to Andrea who provided 5 star service. Delighted that Tattu has come to Birmingham & can’t wait for our next visit!
It’s the second time we have visited since the bar and restaurant has opened. Absolutely love the decor and lovely atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. Service and staff are all very friendly and attentive. The food is lovely but only if you choose well. There are one two items on the menu that lack flavour. Would like to have more options with the mains with a sauce so It is not a dry dish.
The food was extremely bland and we didn’t enjoy it at all, very expensive for small portions. We booked our table at 20.00 and had to wait at the bar for over an hour before we was seated which was disappointing
But the restaurant looked very nice.
Visited tattu in Leeds and both me and wife blown away by the food and level of service, loved the fact we now have one in brum, service, food attention to detail second to none, just a small thought I think a meeter and greeter on the door would be nice touch not a bouncer just a smart articulate person maybe a Fred 😆😆
Excellent customer service stunning decor and amazing food
Had a lovely evening celebrating our anniversary. All the staff were friendly and very kind. Explained every dish when served. Greeted with a good smile all the time. Wished we were seated to where we requested as we were quite close to the kitchen and was quite loud. Overall it was a good experience.
Perfect night. Service was outstanding with a fantastic menu and a lovely setting. Waitress was more than helpful and bar staff very pleasant. Very happy all round.
We were greeted at the entrance and had our coats took off us to be safely hung up which is a nice touch. First impressions of the restaurant are stunning, a nice bar area to the right which you walk past as you get took to your table and then you turn to see the stunning blossom tree in the main restaurant.
At the table we were very well looked after by the waitress who was on hand whenever we needed without being intrusive.
My wife chose the chicken katsu curry which was a great choice, the chicken cooked very well with a lovely thick sauce over the top and very reasonably priced.
I opted for the monkfish and I have to say I was a little disappointed. The fish in the batter was dry and very chewy and the sauce although very nice was quite sparse, it would perhaps be better in a small bowl at the side. For the price you pay for this I would definitely expect better.
The deserts are stunning and taste as good as they look. My wife had the pear crumble which she thought tasted amazing and I had the cherry blossom which was is served amazingly and tasted just as good.
Overall it was a great experience, I just think I chose the wrong main course. Will look forward to going again to try something else.
This was our first visit to Tattu, Birmingham and definitely won’t be the last. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the building was fantastic and had a lovely ambience, the cherry blossom is gorgeous. Although it was busy it was not too loud and was good to see so many people celebrating different occasions. Food and drink was great with plenty of choice, can’t wait to return
Absolutely incredible! It’s definitely lived up to its expectations. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is lovely too and so is the decor - every penny you spend is worth it. The food is incredible too! It’s quite a pricey restaurant so I’d definitely go again but for an occasion next time :)
A very Instagram picture taking style restaurant with a Multi- Million pound fit out.
The Service was great
Its worth a visit.
I have heard from friends Manchester and Leeds is better.
The food is average unfortunately with a high price tag.
However over all if you are more bothered about taking pics than the actual food then hey guess this is the right place for you.
Visited Tattu for the first time with 4 of my friends for my brithday, I was super impressed by the level of service by our host Ross and the quality of the food and drink. Well worth a visit!
Amazing decor, lush and the staffing was great service
The aircon in the restaurant is too cold, had to get check out my jacket and wear it whilst eating.
The food was amazing, i just felt the waiter was a little pushy, i am sure it was over enthusiasm but came across a little rude.
Amazing really felt special and atmosphere was great.
Beautiful restaurant could be the nicest in Birmingham. The food was presented as pretty as a picture but was bland. Very disappointed.
Stunning restaurant which is worth a visit if only to marvel at the wonderfully opulent and glamours decorative style. Even the loos are a joy to behold. A truly magnificent layout maximise the semi basement location. Service was faultless and always charming and never overly familiar. The food was equally impressive. I have avoided my nearest Tattu in Manchester since it opened, just didn’t sound like my kind of thing it’s a shame I had to travel to Birmingham to realise how wrong I have been. All in all an excellent experience that I sure I will visit again very soon.
Everything was perfect, service was first class, wanted to rebook for my sister’s birthday on the 21st but it’s all booked up!
Well it didn't disappoint. Some of the best food we've ever eaten. As good as any Michelin star in Bham but with a really lovely relaxing ambience. We had 3 courses, beers, water and a bottle of prosecco and the bill was around £150 which I was pleasantly surprised at and worth every penny! I'm vegan and my food was to die for. The husband loved his equally! Will be going back for sure!
The waitress said we should probably have 4 seaters a main and side??? What a load of rubbish, the duck was large and was way enough for a starter never mind the other one i’d ordered to then didn’t enjoy the main as much as I was pretty full before I’d got it. What other restaurant do you go into where they recommend 4 starters for 2 people????? We both felt like it was a joke to up sell the menu!!!! Other than that the food was nice and it’s lovely decoration makes for a great place to eat.
Overall experience fabulous. Loved the decor, wonderful smell, loads of marble !
Staff excellent. Food presentation beautiful. Classic twist to “Chinese”.
Service was very good. Would definitely recommend a visit here, for a foodie experience.
Arrived early for a drink in the bar before lunch. The Receptionist said she’d take our coats when it was 1:30, the time of our reservation. What’s that about?
We sat at the bar with our coats over the back of our chairs. Both barmen were very helpful and friendly. Had a lovely cocktail.
We were collected from the bar, returned to Reception to hand in our coats then taken to our table. The waitress was very helpful and friendly and knowledgable. She explained the menu and provided advice and guidance when asked. Service was good. Our jasmine rice was very gloopy and arrived Luke warm. This was changed without any fuss. The food was lovely.
Overall we had a very enjoyable lunch in Tattu and will definitely be returning
Food was delicious and service was great. It isn’t cheap but the portion sizes and dining experience make it more than worth the cost.
Our server Hannah was absolutely amazing! She was professional, lively and very knowledgable with the menu and recommendations. The greeting staff at the front were also lovely. The seating area for food was wonderful, we were sat right under the cherry blossom tree which added to the ambience. Food was amazing and presentation was beautiful. Price wasn’t too bad for an occasion for two people. Would recommend and definelty visit again. Thank you :)
Celebrating a new job. Food good, ambience good, service good - attentive, polite and helpful though very quick at clearing away empties. Before my fork was even down the waitress was taking the plates away. I even commented at one point I’m still chewing and you’ve taken the plate from beneath me. This made it feel a little too rushed considering it was a Thursday evening when they clearly weren’t booked to capacity and there was no need for the table. Food was nice. Not the best I’ve had. Pricey for the portions. We had the set menu 2. At £50 a head I left feeling comfortable but like I could have happily eaten more (in fact joked I might get a snack on route home and my friend agreed!) I am a relatively petite female. I can imagine a larger male or someone with a big appetite would have left hungry. For that price, I get the sense you are paying for the location and ambience. Perhaps more style over substance. But overall a pleasant night out and good experience. Would I rush to go back perhaps not. Do I regret going certainly not. Would I recommend it - well if you want an okay meal in a nice setting why not.
Great place amazing food, ambiance was great would 100% recommend it
