Each Tattu has its own identity, taking guests on a sensory journey from East to West through its award-winning interior design and an astute attention to detail. Relax in stunning, immersive surroundings and enjoy passionate customer service, delivering an experience unlike any other.
Inspired by both the rich historic and contemporary qualities of the city,
Tattu Edinburgh begins a new chapter of our journey with an aesthetic that celebrates the relationship between traditional Chinese interior design, such as detailed wooden fretwork and bespoke chinoiserie fabrics that depict our story so far, blended with cutting edge materials and textures that add a modern finish.
The only thing that didn’t make our experience outstanding was the fact that there was a living bug walking around one of the edible flowers in one of our desserts. This was replaced however that particular dish wasn’t removed from the bill as a good Will gesture.
Absolutely loved it ! The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend it to everyone.
First time eating here and will be very hard to find somewhere nicer to eat. Amazing food with great service highly recommend
fantastic food and service, I have already re booked
Lovely atmosphere, great food & service
I was blown away with the level of service and the quality of the food. What an amazing place!
The decor was beautiful, the staff were very attentive and the food was outstanding.
So much attention to detail. I cannot emphasis what a fantastic time I had. Highly recommended.
Very average food, over the top service fussing over us and then rushing us to finish. Lovely room but in spectacular food.
Fabulous food, can’t recall the last time I enjoyed a meal as much.
the interior was so beautiful! the perfect place for trying and sharing a variety of dishes! Everything tasted incredible!
Was great! Just more food than we knew what to do with! Wouldn’t need as much if we were to come back! Skull candy cocktail amazing!
Slow start, staff seem to be a bit robotic, however they were attentive and the decor was incredible
Stunning restaurant. Fantastic food and cocktails. Very attentive staff. Would highly recommend.
Great food and amazing service, would highly recommended.
Very nice setting , cherry blossom all over the ceiling. Food is certainly for sharing. We had the set menu which was highly recommended
The starters were good, tasty and presented well but the main dish, that should of came hot came, luke warm. Smacked of food that had been prepared too long in advance and then sat under a heater. Disappointed. The place looked lovely decoration wise but tables are close together and the noise level was high. Sadly seated too close to the door and where staff would congregate. Brought my husband here to convince him that Chinese food can be lovely (he's not normally keen whereas I love it) but I came away and had to concede that our food wasn't the best.
This was our first visit and won’t be our last. The restaurant is very nice inside and the service was very good. The food was excellent and the portions were good also. We shared Baby Squid and Duck Spring Rolls to start followed by BBQ chicken and Sea Bass with a portion of rice and noodles. We ate off the lunch menu £24 for 2 courses very good value. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Fantastic fresh food! Incredible Setting! Great music!
We came to Tattu for my husband's 50th birthday and it did not disappoint. The service was great - our server gave us a masterclass in chopstick use! The food was excellent and plentiful. Couldn't manage a dessert but the savoury dishes we could not fault. It was perfectly cooked, flavours were amazing and love the sharing concept...all the food on the table to dip in & out of.
Cocktails complimented the foods too!
Some of the worst service I’ve ever had the misfortune of experiencing.
Great food and experience! Will definitely be back soon.
We had a fabulous time. The decor, service and food were excellent. The black cod is up there with best dishes of all time as was the vegan sticky toffee.
One criticism - we were unable to give our fantastic waiter a tip with the bill. We had to raid our purses to scrape together what cash we had between us and I felt this was unfair on him as he'd worked so hard.
It was great to see a decent variety of wines and the pinot gris was particularly good.
We will definitely be back!
Really fun place with excellent food and lovely service. Recommend the sticky beef and the monkfish. Innovative cocktails and desserts using dry ice. Attention to food allergies. Lunch time is much quieter than evening. Thanks to our server Lawrence.
The food is pretty tasteless. I’ve been before and it was too salty. Today it was is if they forgot salt. But in general, I prefer my local Chinese. It is trying to be Nobu. But it is miles from Nobu
Although the name on the booking was Kenneth McDowell - the table host was me, Helen Mackenzie.
The disappointment of the evening came from being asked to move from our table to the Bar to have our coffee and drinks. We were not told that we only had the table for a limited period, and there were several empty tables. I was entertaining clients who do not like sitting in a Bar. The thank you letter I got stated 'Excellent dinner, food great even if customer relations need a little work' I would recommend the restaurant to a friend but emphasise that the time of the table availability should be asked at the outset. I would not make a recommendation for business entertaining. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SERVICE AT THE TABLE IN RELATION TO THE WAITING STAFF IS NOT THE SUBJECT OF THIS COMMENT.
Absolutely top notch, would highly recommend. Everything about the Tattu experience was just great 👏👏👏
We had a wonderful evening! Our waiter Vaseem was very friendly and funny! The food was delicious. Our favourites were the seared tuna, the broccoli with the sesame paste, and the sticky toffee pudding! The decorations are beautiful and we would absolutely recommend a meal here!
Great food and great service from the waiter Vaseem. Very attentive and as a surprise for my daughters birthday a lovely treat was given. Highly recommended and great portion sizes. Made this celebration an experience not to be missed.
Most of the food was great however, it was very expensive for what is on the plates. The cocktails were great.
Gorgeous place, tried it as a holiday treat. Food is good but expensive.
What a place! Greeted at the door and directed to the bar. Grabbed a few cocktails (recommend the skull candy one) and tye bartender Rob was outstanding! Out waiter was also amazing too and the food was to die for! It came out in a timely manor and as expected. Took a few recommendations from
Our waiter too. They made our 11 year anniversary amazing! Thank you for such a amazing night!
The restaurant is beautiful, food was amazing and our waitress Alex was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. 😁
I had my first visit to Tattu at the weekend, and I would highly recommend! Our waitress, who I didn't catch the name of but she was super helpful and showed us through the menu as she knew it was our first time, she was extremely happy to be there and loved her job which just made us feel extra comfortable. As we are from Glasgow, she also made recommendations for places to go for drinks after Tattu. The food was delightful, and super tasty. I liked how there was a variation of flavours and sizes of dishes. The cocktails were just outstanding!! Super unique from the decor to the impeccable toilets to the delightful food and drinks - I don't have a bad word to say about this place!
Thank you for the experience x
Caramel soy beef fillet arrived cold
Portion size is very small especially for a large plate. Food wasn’t anything special
Not great value for money
Loved it! Cannot wait to go back! The only feedback I’d give is some of the dishes could be a touch hotter in temperature apart from that everything was spot on!
My husband and I came here for Valentines Day and it was amazing. We loved the cosy atmosphere and beautiful decor. The food was brilliant and we definitely plan on returning to try more items on the menu. Service was quick and the staff were very nice
Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food was fab. Would definitely come back. Was such a great experience xx
Food wasn’t very warm , was very noisy , staff were great
Tattu is a bit confused. It’s not a chines restaurant but a restaurant offering Chinese inspired cuisine. However it fails on that.
The food is tasty and well presented but it isn’t Chinese and it’s flavours are too bold and overpowering. Yes, perhaps inspired by Chinese food but as it’s not Chinese food, it doesn’t quite work.
The service is exceptional but you just get that feeling you are eating in the middle of a club. The DJ at his mixing desk banging out some dance tunes makes it a weird experience.
Back to the food: I dined at 7pm and 3 of the dishes, 2 of which I was wanting, were off the menu as unavailable. Not a good start.
In my opinion, the starters and small plates were better value and tastier than the large main course dishes.
The decor is bold and brash and Lind of works but it’s just not a restaurant as we know it.
I am glad I went, it’s definitely an experience but I won’t rush back. There are better Chinese restaurants in town and much better aesthetically pealing Far Eastern divining establishments that I would choose overt Tattu.
So, go once, experience it but I won’t be rushing back.
Food is pretty good although for the price I have had better.
Great atmosphere and fantastic service from waiting staff.
Overall the venue is beautiful and well worth a visit.
All I would basically say is your paying for the experience and of the look of the place wasnt to impressed with the food. Asked for well done beef with no pink showing and received beef medium done. Dessert was the best bit bit even that I wasnt blown away for the price we paid. Just a once off experience I my eyes.
