Overall the food was tasteless out of 4 starters only the seared tuna had any seasoning the squid was neither salt or pepper the duck In the bonbon was unseasoned and the dim sung chicken was too thick and the filling was tasteless.
The main dishes were rib eye steak both portions were overcooked and the meat was therefore chewy and not properly seasoned. The marinated salmon was average.
The chocolate brownie was the standout dish - this was maybe because it wasn’t an Asian dish!
This is nowhere near Chinese restaurant One of our guests remarked it was a pity they had spent so much time and effort on the interior design and such pity they had not directed this effort towards the food!
What a lovely restaurant. The decor is beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. We will be back. It’s a lovely venue for a special occasion.
Caramel beef is amazing! Prices are a tad high but we enjoyed it all the same
Fabulous menu. Very fresh produce used.
Our waiting staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. Will be returning soon.
Food, service and ambiance all excellent. Have recommended to friends and will definitely go back next time I am in Edinburgh.
The food at Tattu is not your standard fare: different, delicious and beautiful. Whilst it is more expensive than a meal at your average restaurant, it is not unreasonable for food of this quality. The restaurant was busy, and had a good ambience, but it was never too loud.
Had a very enjoyable evening. The restaurant was very busy but got seated quickly. The food was good but it did not really seem very authentic. The waitress that served us was excellent very helpful, knowledgable about the menu and very friendly. The only thing about this restaurant is the price. We had the 30% off which helped but would think twice about paying full price
Really excited to go this restaurant as I know how popular it is. But sadly I was disappointed. The staff were very helpful and attentive and did a great job but the food was not worth the money and poor quality for the hype surrounding this restaurant. We were really excited to try the cocktails but when they arrived it just tasted like a glass of juice with no alcohol. We had chicken as a main but it tasted very greasy. If you want nice pictures for instagram then go but it’s an expensive meal for a picture and below average food.
Absolutely amazing food in unique surroundings. Staff were friendly and professional and made it a very special occasion. 👌
Lovely efficient staff so friendly, food is amazing. Normally don’t like anything too spicy & hot , on both visits have tried few and livedthem .
Looking forward too returning.
Amazing food and ambience, the restaurant is beautiful inside! The only downside was a few of the things we really wanted from the menu were unavailable which was a little bit of a disappointment. What we did have was lovely though.
Beautiful restaurant & lovely staff-nice food though not exceptional. Disappointed that short beef ribs & sweet potato both off menu as none left-strange when it was only 6pm!
Was able to come as it was 30% which made a big difference. Hear people are saying very expensive. Ok fr a one off. Lovely decoration. Enjoyed our curry chicken and salmon. Could have done with veg on plate. Better also to have veg, rice etc in cost not separate pricing. Fantaatic place but dont think it will survive the high prices espec when not at 30% off and only occasionally
Yes it is a bit more expensive, but totally worth it. You'll be hard pushed to find better food in the city
Amazing!!! Probably the best meal I’ve ever had- from start to finish the experience was incredible! Being students we were lucky with the 30% off in January and makes me sad that we probably can’t go again unless there is another deal- but so glad we took advantage of it! It was truly amazing and the staff were so friendly!
First time at Tattu and for my wife’s birthday, modern Chinese with sharing concept... outstanding food, creative cocktails and deserts and overall a fantastic dining experience thanks for looking after my good lady.
Excellent service and food in fantastic surroundings . Drinks pricey
Great venue with amazing staff
The food was amazing but the most outstanding thing was the service as our waiter was very friendly, polite, smiley and very informative re the menu!
It such a shame that I don’t remember his name as he would need to be given some credits !
Excellent from the moment we stepped in the restaurant! Our table wasn’t ready so we had a drink at the bar while waiting.. which we didn’t mind as the decor was beautiful to look at 😍 The service was out standing.. I genuinely couldn’t fault the place. Food was to die for, wish we could of stayed here all night as the cocktails were lovely! Will definitely be back.
Waiting months to get to try this out. Sadly we were disappointed ☹️
Restaurant is beautiful but very small. Very busy so very noisy.
We ordered 4 starter style tapas and 2 main dishes.
3 of the 4 starters came out. The duck bon bon & the sticky beef was delicious. The scallops were tasteless along with its accompaniments. We couldn’t see our waitress and finally got more assistance to ask where the squid was, she got it for us. It was a tasty batter but very little squid.
Main course 2 dishes and only 1 side came out. Again same scenario as starter finally getting our missing noodle dish which was dry and unseasoned. The monkfish was ok with a nice flavour of coconut but a bit lacking. The steak and caramel soy was delicious.
The manager asked if we had enjoyed it. We said 50/50 and he asked why. We explained and he said quite rudely that we should have complained at each course. !!! We had just explained that we couldn’t get any attention.
Then our lovely waitress came back and asked and we explained what had just happened with the manager. She then offered us free deserts which we didn’t want. We then agreed to share 1.
The manager then passed and gave me a dirty look.
We settled our bill which was £168.08. Which £92.50 being food with a £15.28 service charge and the rest was beverages. The beverages were very pricy.
Overall we wouldn’t rush back
Amazing food and service,we will be returning.
A few friends and I were in for lunch on Saturday and we had a brilliant meal and the service was brilliant. Nothing was a bother for the staff and they were very efficient!
Food was delicious, wish we were able to try everything on the menu as it all sounded delicious and if what we had was anything to go by then I’m sure it will be.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing food.... will definitely be back!
Absolutely wonderful, the decor is stunning and all the staff very friendly, our server was Ana and she was extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was fantastic, we didn't want the set menu and Ana suggested how many dishes we should order and it was the perfect amount although unfortunately we were too full to eat dessert which sounded delicious. Between 3 of us we had 2 starters and 1 small plate, 2 mains and 2 sides and I tried a skull candy cocktail, lovely, we couldn't fault anything, definitely will be back and have already recommended it
Great food, really cool ambience and service is good. Really nice drinks too. The spicy chicken is outstanding.
Food was nicely presented, but lacked flavour, however service excellent.
Overall experience was good but we did have to wait 20 minutes for a table we had already booked.
Amazing food. Fabulous service. Can’t wait to visit again.
Without doubt one of the best Asian restaurants around, can't wait to return.
The restaurant is beautiful , the waiting staff are polite and knowledgeable. We had a lovely table and the food was incredible. Highly recommend
Great experience. Amazing set up and atmosphere.
Food was nice enough but not amazing. I wouldn’t recommend it as the expensive price doesn’t match the taste. Lovely inside but just above average food. Sorry
Love the atmosphere and decor, service was attentive without intruding. Took our waiter's advice about which of the 2 veggie dishes I had in mind and enjoyed the veggie chicken in black bean sauce. Desserts were amazing to look at and thoroughly delicious. My peach and mango birds nest one consisted of a brandy basket with a chocolate egg inside with a lovely creamy filling and mango sorbet. Can wait to go back and try the towering brownie dessert. The Chinese fusion menu is a real treat.
We had booked to come as the restaurant was offering 30% off for January. The restaurant was beautiful. Fabulous decor. The staff were all lovely and so knowledgable. The cocktails were outstanding and the food was impeccably presented. Often when food is impeccably presented it can lack in taste but the food was delicious. We shared 6 or 7 small plates and a dessert. It was all lovely particularly the tacos and the lobster and prawn toast. It isn’t cheap but it is worth the money. We will definitely be back.
Great cocktails and waiter at both the bar and the table were fantastic. The waiter at the table was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations too. The small plates and large plates we had were tasty. The deserts are really spectacular and gave a great ending to the meal. It’s difficult to get a reservation but keep trying or go at an earlier or later time than “normal”.
This is a very busy restaurant, even though its location is not too obvious and we were surprised at how full it was.
We had our two guide dogs in training with us and were welcomed enthusiastically. The table was fine for two people, but a bit small for two people plus two dogs, so we took over the adjoining passageway. As the restaurant is rather dark and the floors are black - and so are our dogs, we were a little worried that they could be a trip hazard, but the staff and other guests made appropriate allowances and there was no problem at all.
We started with lobster & prawn toast and Chilli & sesame roasted scallops. All were cooked just right and were delicious. We followed with Thai style monkfish and Chilli crusted tofu with Tenderstem broccoli as a side. Again everything was cooked just right and the broccoli was nicely crunchy.
As dessert we shared a chocolate brownie pagoda between the two of us as a friend had recommended it. IT was lovely, but actually too much and rather heavy.
Everything was well presented, service was brilliant.
We had booked under the 30% off offer, so the bill, including two glasses of Prosecco was £73.15. They automatically add 10%, which I object to in principle, but 10% was fair and I would have added it anyway, so no contrary action was necessary.
This was a very good evening and, as it is fairly close to our home, we will be back. Actually we live a bit too close to work off the dessert on this occasion, but we will know in future......
Fantastic staff, atmosphere, food was out of this world. One of the best meals I have ever had. Such a special place to celebrate.
Very good night. Service excellent. Very helpful. Very busy for a Wednesday night. Great atmosphere. Try the ribs and the beef fillet. Woah!
Food was nice but I’ve had better. Think there is a lot of hype about this place because of the decor but there is a lot more to a dining experience than some pretty trees. And the music... awful, more suited to a nightclub.
Beef dish very bland and debatable if rump steak advised staff of same. Over priced for what it is for food and drinks
