Inspired by both the rich historic and contemporary qualities of the city,
Tattu Edinburgh begins a new chapter of our journey with an aesthetic that celebrates the relationship between traditional Chinese interior design, such as detailed wooden fretwork and bespoke chinoiserie fabrics that depict our story so far, blended with cutting edge materials and textures that add a modern finish.
I had a beautiful birthday meal today in Tattu! Everything from the food to the service was amazing.. our waiter Daniel was very attentive & recommended us great choices. Will definitely be back, thank you!
Excellent food and beautiful venue. Had a blast.
Food was great. Our server was very knowledgable and helpful with the food and cocktails. Great night out
The food was nice, but some of the sauces were very rich and quite sickly. The best dish was the crab tempura but it was very expensive. The restaurant's decor is stunning and the staff were very helpful. The cocktails were also lovely. I would definitely try this restaurant again, but I do feel that it is slightly over priced.
Very much a city centre eatery, lots of theatre with the food and drinks served.
DJ playing on (not sure if this is just a weekend thing).
Some very interesting dishes on the menu.
Wanted to enjoy this newly opened restaurant......but bottom line is food is expensive and not up to scratch. Lovely atmosphere and service was very good but I cant recommend-sorry
Great food experience and lovely ambience with cherry blossom trees reflected throughout. Club DJ was a nice touch
Food was out of this world
Service was amazing
I will be coming back in no time
Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience at Tattu. Even though it was just the second day of the full opening, everything went smoothly. All the food was very good, but some plates were exceptional. The Szechuan Rock Shrimp and Wok Fired Angry Bird being the two stand out meals for me. Service couldn't be faulted. And the restaurant looks just as good as it does in the photos.
Only one criticism. The reception area is too small to accommodate everyone waiting to be seated. Especially when they let guests who have just came in for a drink, or who don't have a reservation, take up multiple seats. Maybe ask them to go through to the bar and leave the waiting area for guests who are dining and who do have a reservation. However, this was just a minor annoyance, and didn't detract from a fantastic meal and experience. Can't wait to go back. Which we are in a couple of weeks!!
Appreciate it was first weekend officially open however we were disappointed with the standard of food served. Our Starter was served with main meal which we would have preferred before main. My main and side dish had to be sent back to the kitchen as they were cold. These were reserved and while it was hotter the rice which was advertised as having chicken and prawn as well as pancetta in lacked chicken and prawns and was stodgy. Husbands jasmine rice was also stodgy. Sweet was sticky toffee pear pudding. Pear ice cream was very nice however again the sponge was stodgy.
Drinks and service were good, shame about the food.
Amazing place and food was delicious but still needs a bit of work to put in. Some dishes were overcooked like rice for example and under seasoned. Perfect place for one time experience.
Great Food and the service was amazing. The decor and atmosphere were also fantastic.... can't wait to go back!
The place looks beautiful. DJ in the Restaurant that I see no need for. Music was loud. Service was great. The thing that was an annoyance was everybody was conducting a photo shoot around me just trying to eat my food. Food was ok to good. Went with the first offering of the set menu and that was loads of food.
The food was delicious, cocktails were impressive and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.
Loved it - food amazing, decor gorgeous, cocktails fab
Stunning meal at Tattu, small menu but as a vegetarian came out very full and happy. Food was amazing, great cocktails, excellent staff very friendly and informative.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and great service.
We absolutely loved our long awaited visit to this most gorgeous restaurant!
The best service we've ever had!
The food was to die for!
would highly recommend this place, the food and cocktails were amazing. It was a bit expensive but don’t mind paying since it was great and the restaurant decor is fab. The only thing is the service was a bit slow when we first sat down and the waiter did apologise for this. I think they might still be under staffed or not able to keep up with how busy it has been. Other than that I would say definitely go you’ll have a great time!!
Incredible food and the interior was beautiful! The staff were so friendly and it was great hearing about how everything in the restaurant is made in house - the quality and effort put into each dish clearly showed through in each dish.
Fantastic restaurant. Delicious food, great atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff and the decor is outstanding. By far my favourite restaurant to date.
The cocktails were outstanding, and though we didn’t try one the desserts we saw being served looked like showstoppers. The restaurant is beautiful and staff attentive and well trained, though maybe a better allergy procedure would make some diners feel a bit more comfortable. I enjoyed my meal but unfortunately I won’t rush back as I don’t think it’s great value for money.
What a beautiful place! The decor is amazing and makes you gasp. The cherry blossom negroni was gorgeous. We ordered small plates on the advice of the serving staff and ended up with 5 between us. Everything is shared and comes from the kitchen as it's ready. The food was delicious and looked beautiful too. The only complaint is that the wine is quite expensive.
Beautiful restaurant great food and service
A bit expensive
Second visit here and toilets were well stocked with toilet rolls and hand towels big improvement from previous visit. Had menu 1 very nice apart from desserts which like Emperors menu were a hugh disappointment . Asian pear pudding heavy and stodgy and wonton parcels not enough filling.
Maitre de was very pleasant and attentive to detail.
Stunning restaurant, beautiful decor, spotlessly clean. Delicious food and amazing friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to our next visit.
5 dishes sent back as were cold
Ordered drinks and had to keep chasing for them
Staff over attentive when not required but no where to be seen when you needed them
Music a tad too loud
Nice setting and food was nice when came at the correct temperature
Portions small and expensive
Pros - great decor, friendly enthusiastic staff, food overall very good. Starters /dim sum/ small plates / sides are all very good
Standouts: duck and mushroom springs rolls / chicken shumai / soft shell crab/ steak bulgogi
Cons - a couple of misses with mains.
- Angry bird dish chicken tough and overcooked, sauce over reduced and salty - should have sent back but still in training / start up period
- A lot of the main dishes sauces are soy based and can taste a bit Samey / salty
- The soft shell crab came with a chicken base we didnt know about so friend who didn’t eat meat couldn’t eat the dish - servers should make aware or menu should include a note if there is meat included with the fish dish
Absolutely loved the venue, decor is amazing. The food is to die for, the angry bird chicken is amazing! The only flaw I have with this restaurant is that the waiters were at the table too frequently asking if we were finished our food, however staff were very friendly. Great addition to Edinburgh
The restaurant is stunning, the staff were lovely and helped show what on the menu I could eat as am vegan. The food was amazing.
Fantastic decor. a bit expensive. Food served too quickly diners should be allowed a break between courses if requested.
Highly recommended from beautiful decor and knowledgeable staff to the quality of the food and choice. Ideal for special occasion .
First class service and delicious food, we couldn't fault it!
Absolutely delighted with my meal on Monday. I took my boyfriend as a 21st birthday treat and it couldn’t have gone any better. We were greeted by a lovely waitress who took care of us all night, she was charming and extremely helpful when we were being indecisive! The food was exceptional - our particular favourites being the duck bonbons and the beef short rib. The vibe of the restaurant was also fabulous - from the beautiful blossom trees to the music - everything done to perfection. We will definitely be back to Tattu in Edinburgh and if we ever venture down to Leeds or Manchester it would also definitely be on our list!
Attended during the soft launch therefore only paid 50% for food.
Service on arrival was disappointing as we felt our wet coats should have been taken from us and we could have been offered a drink.
The majority of our plates arrived at once which became overwhelming and as the food wasn’t served on hot plates it quickly cooled.
The quality of the small plates; prawn & lobster rolls and duck bonbons was very good. However the lamb tacos and the short rib of beef were just okay. The duck fried rice was tasteless and needed seasoning. The sweet & sour iberico was nice but the angry bird wasn’t angry at all.
The desserts were outstanding. The brownie pagoda was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time and the dragons nest was highly recommended.
Overall for what we paid it was a nice evening but I feel the small plates in particular are over priced.
Our waiter for the main part of the evening was Vaseem who was excellent.
Beautiful restaurant with top class food wold definitely come back
When you walk into the restaurant, the look & feel gives you an immediate 'wow' moment. It feels so different to any other restaurant experience. The service was incredible, all serving staff who interacted with us were so friendly and helpful. We were advised to get 7 dishes per couple, which we did ...mostly because we wanted to try a lot of dishes ...but generally I think this would be far too much food. A small plate, a large plate, a side & dessert should fill you - unless you already know you're a big eater. I do think the small plates are expensive for what they are and the 2 more expensive large plates that we tried (Ginger Miso Cod & Caramel Beef Fillet) were delicious, but definitely not worth the menu price. However, the 2 cheaper items (Angry Bird & Beef Bulgogi) were also very tasty ...and the clear favourites. Definitely worth a try, but more for a special occasion.
It's very pretty inside and the food was ok.
The small plates were all very good but the large plates were nothing special.
However, we went during the launch so everything was 50% off so it was fine but I wouldn't rush back when the prices go to full price.
Looks very beautiful inside I’d recommend for a special occasion but overpriced and overhyped
Fabulous food service and decor . Fantastic night
