First impressions were great and we were really looking forward to our meal the restaurant itself was incredible and had a great atmosphere, the staff were really friendly and helpful, then the food came which looked amazing. when it came to the tasting however we were left disappointed, the lack of flavour was surprising. We had been looking forward to this meal for a long while and after hearing from friends experiences were expecting food that packed a punch of flavour and in all honesty it was bland. We paid the bill and were given a free drink which initially we said was unnecessary but they insisted
Not one to complain usually we find it very awkward but this time it had to be said.
Very over price. Wouldn’t return again. Been to better places for half the price.
Has a lovely meal, highlight was the cherry blossom dessert.
Came to this restaurant on the recommendation from a friend, beautiful interior, fabulous service, food and would highly recommend.
The best interior decoration and environment, excellent customer services, awesome Chinese-style cuisines, if you are looking for the best of the best in the town !
Food was nice but we thought it was over priced for what you get. Best part of the meal were the desserts.
Everything was very good from reception greeting, and through out the Meal and a good server Cindy who explained different things on menu, will be back.
The place was pretty, it’s great for pictures. The customer service was also great. The only thing is that the food itself was bland and overpriced for what you got, making it not worth it.
Great meal. Best we’ve had there for a while, new menu excellent. Ambiance as always fantadtic
The restaurant was amazing and everything I imagined given the reviews I’d heard from others. The food was outstanding! Best food I’ve had in a long time! The restaurant was busy but the staff were attentive and friendly and even brought over a special surprise for my other half’s birthday. Would 100% eat here again. Best dining experience I’ve had in a while! Thank you for w wonderful evening!
First visit. Lived up to my expectations and will definitely visit again
Our waiter was lovely and relaxed. He helped with the menu and even got a pic of us in between rushing around!
I liked that he noticed we didnt have our drinks and enquired about them.
Dont recall his name but he was lovely!
There were 2 dining at lunchtime. Came for the Easter desert. The new menu was better than the last although most of the food we had last time were still there. We had a 3 course lunch as well as the main menu. The lotus appetiser was brilliant as well as the cubed ribs. The mains were ok. The sweet potatoes were lovely though. The desserts were really nice.
Really nice environment with a good cuisine and service.
Tattu looks great and the staff are really nice however the food wasn't very good. The food arrived almost cold. I had the mixed dim sum, there was a chicken (I think) dumpling that had a paste inside which was luke warm and bland. The wagyu dumpling's beef was tough too.
On a separate dish there was an aubergine dumpling which wasn't effected by being cold and was quite nice
I had the Char Su pork for the main which arrived almost cold and had a watery garnish which did not have any taste. The pork itself didn't have enough substance in flavour to warrant the price.
For desert I had the sweet dumpling with chocolate inside, the casing of the dumplings didn't taste fresh, this might have been that it was too far cooled by the time it came to the table.
The sauce (I think made with umami) in the broccoli side was was quite nice.
I really want to emphasise that the staff and the ambience are great, the food however would make me not want to come back.
I was on a business dinner and so didn't really have the time nor inclination to request the food be done again and as this happened with subsequent dishes it seems it is a systemic issue or at least was on that night.
Food was just OK but over priced. Good location. Restaurant is for only to go for date to impress someone.
Service was really great and the restaurant was absolutely stunning. Pricey but mostly worth it. Recommended.
The girl that served us was absolutely amazing. Cocktails fantastic as always
Me and my partner came Saturday late lunch after previously having a lovely meal at Tattu in Leeds. It was our anniversary so we thought we would come to celebrate. Overall the food was such a let down, we ordered the pork it was very tasteless and fatty. We also ordered the ribs, again very fatty. Previously we had the duck buns in Leeds that were honestly delicious, we were both so let down with the duck and pancakes which i believe are new on the menu. All the pancakes were stuck together and ripped into pieces so we ended up leaving a few of them, the portion sizes are obviously small which we knew but for the price we expected them to have slightly more. All of the dishes were lukewarm! We left feeling so disappointed as we expected so much better.
Tattu is my absolute favourite restaurant in Manchester. The service is always incredible and I love the decor and ambience - it never fails. The food and drinks are also delicious and inventive. My only criticism on this occasion is that the set lunch has changed and although still good value isn’t as good as before. The portions are now smaller and the crispy chilli beef (my fave!) isn’t as nice. Still delicious though and reasonable value against the a la carte menu.
Been a few times now and as always the food is excellent and the staff are always very pleasant and friendly. Great place and great atmosphere.
Good service and atmosphere, but do not understand why people go there for food. Well presented but mediocre taste and quality.
Very average for the hype and price unfortunately , not much choice on menu either
The food was great we loved it however it did come in small portions and it was a lot of money for what was on the plate.
Fantastic food , beautiful place and the service was outstanding. We will be returning very soon .
We enjoyed a beautiful meal at this stunning venue for our anniversary. Couldn’t fault the service, the restaurant but the portion sizes were very small. Clean and well-decorated restaurant.
We all had such a wonderful time at Tattu. It was absolutely beautiful, the food was gorgeous and you accepted my request to sit under the tree. We got some AMAZING photographs! It truly made my 18th birthday really special! Thank you very much!
Nice surroundings and good atmosphere. . Server friendly and pleasant but had a scruffy jacket on with food spillage down the front and the hem frayed and hanging down at the back- not a good look. Small plates of scallops very tasty and Crispy pork belly good but a little over cooked. Mixed up our mains order and came with another pork belly instead of duck (left it anyway and said it's on the house) then added it to the bill, but removed when pointed out. Mains ok. Cherry Blossom dessert lived up to expectations and Flight of the Phoenix & Skull Candy Cocktails mixed to perfection. Overall good experience but let down by some lack of attention to detail.
People and ambience were lovely. Food beautifully presented as expected. 3 of six dishes lovely, 1 nice, 2 disappointing which were the crispy duck and sea bass. Duck was fatty, insufficiently crisp and the pancakes were overdone and could not be separated. In fact the last 2 could not be lifted from the steamer bottom, the whole box came up with them. The sea bass itself was beautifully cooked however the delicate sauce was too delicate, it was almost tasteless. I gathered the majority of the slivers of ginger together and ate them at one time and still got barely a ginger flavor. I understand ginger varies but this felt marinated too long before use. For almost london prices during a quiet lunch period, I was surprised the chef had not noticed these things. Am willing to return and try again.
I took my daughter for a celebratory meal for her 21st birthday. I asked for glasses of prosecco to be on the table for when we arrived, which they were. They didn't have the starters we originally ordered but we ordered our 2nd choice and they were delicious. Because they didn't have our 1st choice of starter the manager, Damon, said they were 'on the house'. Our main meals were gorgeous and the salmon and sea bass were cooked to perfection. The waitress brought a sparkler and a fortune cookie for my daughter. They then brought a complimentary dessert for us to share.
Damon and the team made us feel really special and made it a very special 21st birthday meal. We noticed that Damon was friendly and chatty with his team, yet maintaining a high level of service and professionalism and it all added to a great relaxed night. We'll definitely be back and I've already recommended you to friends and work colleagues.
Hi Michele121, Damon from Tattu here, thank you for taking the time to write in & review us. Always makes our day to read our guests appreciated our service, we know how important birthdays & special occasions are to our guests so it means the absolute world to us when they choose our restaurant to celebrate them with in. Very happy to read you & your daughter had such a great time, really looking forward to welcoming you back soon. Warmest regards & best wishes Damon and the Tattu Team
Was a wonderful evening the food was amazing and we could have stayed all night !!
Amazing atmosphere, food was fantastic and service was great. On the expensive side but worth it for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable pre theatre meal with friends. Great food and wine in a really unusually decorated venue with a large cherry blossom tree in the centre. Service was good, helpful. Ambience was great - I am keen to revisit...
amazing food and a perfect atmosphere for birthday meal
The starters weren't what I expected, the main was okay. I had to go have a McDonald's afterwards as I was still hungry. The staff didn't listen and looked miserable. I asked 1 member to tell me before bringing out suprise birthday sparkler for my partner and she obviously forgot and brought it out without my knowledge and looked miserable in doing so. Would not recommend to anyone. K thanks bye.
Really nice food and cocktails, great service and decor
The best food I’ve ever had! We will definitely be returning to try even more of the menu.
Amazing service and the food was really nice. Very lush!!! Highly recommend 👍🏼
Excellent food and great service, however we ordered tapas and expected it to come as it was ready, instead everything turned up at the same time pretty quickly after we'd ordered and so some of it went a bit cold before we could eat it. Maybe our fault, perhaps you need to ask for it not to come all together
We had a tasting menu and the food was delicious. Service was very good. The only down side was noise levels were very high, the background music was unnecessary.
