Tatu - Saratoga Springs

I’m reluctant to leave the glowing review the folks at Tatu deserve because, frankly, I want to keep this place to myself! Their Tuesday special can’t be beat - two overstuffed, delicious, unique tacos with rice and beans - my absolute fave is the pork and pineapple! Service is always great. If your server isn’t right there, there is always another staff member circulating to meet your needs.
Highly recommend! And always try something new because everything is delicious!

Food was marginal at best. While my steak was cooked perfectly, it was tasteless as were the sweet potato fires. Kale salad was over dressed and greasy. My husband had the fish tacos. Fish was over cooked and the portions small. The tortillas are also without taste. We’ve had better margaritas elsewhere. The salsa and guacamole were very good as were the chips. The only positive. Overall a disappointing evening

The atmosphere was on point. Our waitress was amazing! The flights of tequila, margaritas, and food was the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long long time! Overall the rest was amazing and would recommend to anyone looking for good times, great drinks, and great food!

My only complaint was the rice/beans, they have a cinnamon kick to them ( was not a fan).

We were seated outside. Beautiful deck. Really nice setting and everything was literally spotless (a clear eye to sanitizing and being safe) -- so VERY MUCH appreciated in these COVID times. Food was phenomenal (tasty, authentic with a funky and different vibe) and service was absolutely seamless. Capital District desperately needed a place JUST LIKE THIS. Will absolutely be back and have already recommended it to others.

The food and the service were excellent. We had the Restaurant Week menu and it contained most of the regular menu instead of a few items like most restaurants offer including the items I would have ordered anyway. I highly recommend Tatu.

I'd recommend Tatu in Saratoga Springs for a different, new take on tacos. The food and service were both great and the menu had a varied selection of apps and entrées. We visited for Saratoga restaurant week and were able to try a good amount of things!

We had somewhat hoped for outdoor dining, but it was a cold night and the outdoor tables were not operational. However there was social distancing inside and the waiters took every precaution. margaritas, duck tacos, chili rellenos all good, market salad perhaps a bit off. The desserts--apple fritters and mango sorbet--were outstanding. A good experience and we would definitely go back.

Delicious tacos and drinks and knowledgeable waitstaff! Had a tequila flight tasting which was interesting and tasty! My go-to for Mexican in Saratoga!

We love the restaurant. A few of the regular appetizers were a bit different than before. We were told it was a new chef. Much preferred old chef for the appetizers. My husbands always wishes they would increase the beer selection. But that said, we will go back!

Did outside dining. The band down below was too loud for normal conversation. They could have been just a bit softer. (We parked 1 1/2 blocks away and they were still loudly heard.)

We all tried different tacos to share. Interesting combo of flavors that were delicious together. However, food did come out slightly cold.

Our starters were all great...they have the best homemade tortilla chips...guacamole was especially good...entrees were good too...we had a great waitress who was very efficient and attentive...I would recommend this restaurant 👍

Our server, Ryan, took the time to answer all our questions about the delicious drinks and food. Best house margarita hands down. Also, full sleeve was delicious, even though I’m not a mezcal fan!

We really love the food and the atmosphere here. We gave four stars for the food, not because it isn't excellent (it definitely is), but because they had a couple more vegan/vegetarian options for the entrees. As it stands, they have a myriad of fantastic appetizers and sides, but they could really use one or two more main dishes. Right now they have vegetarian/vegan tacos (the exact type changes daily, but all versions we've had have been excellent), and a stuff poblano pepper. I guess you could get that without cheese, but it would be nice if they had vegan cheese as an option, or one other entree. Otherwise, we LOVE this place, and it's certainly one of the best Mexican restaurants if not the best in Saratoga Springs. Cantina is also good, but basically more traditional, and there are a couple others as well. And we haven't even mentioned the drinks, which is truly excellent. Finally, every time we've been there, the service has been outstanding, and we love the atmophere. We will be back again and again.

Everything about this restaurant was absolutely amazing!! Our server was friendly outgoing and enthusiastic!!! The food was delicious some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had!! And the decor was terrific!!! Amazing artwork from a very talented tattoo artist!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

I love Tatu on Taco Tuesdays! Ask for the vegetarian taco special. I have only been there twice to dine so far, but plan to keep going back. The service has always been good, from hostess to server to bartender. Oh, and I love love love their outdoor dining space!

Fantastic restaurant - the owners and personnel are very pleasant and the food was delicious.

The whole fried fish was exceptional. Margaritas were very good. The veggie chile relleno got rave reviews. Other tacos were very well received too. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious, and had a nice heat to it.

Mixing Mexican and Lebanese sounded like an interesting combination to try. In reality it fell short of average. It started with the totally uncomfortable, narrow metal chairs out on the uneven surfaced patio. That started us out with a wobbly and uncomfortable setting right from the start.
We decided to share a couple of appetizers and chose the fish taco's as our entrée. The fried meatballs arrived cold and completely dried out. With no sauce to accompany them they were simply too dry to eat.
The Garlic Avocado Guacamole and house made chips were actually quite good and easily the highlight of the meal.
The Mexican street corn salad would have been good if it was served warm as the flavor was pretty good but as it is served cold the cheese simply congealed onto the corn in a clumpy mess offering none of the umami goodness of true street corn.
The fish tacos come with pickled onions and radishes. An unusual taco combination but their flavor was pretty good. It was the fish that was the problem. They use a spicy sea salt on everything including the popcorn you get when seated. Our fish was massively over seasoned with it.
Overall the entirety of the meal was a disappointment. I cannot see us ever going back to even try it again unless they change the seating and rethink the menu at a minimum.
