Tavern in the Square - Cranston

Normally a decent, well-priced place to have a bite and a drink but the last few visits have been disappointing. Had the Caesar salad and friend chicken sandwich twice in a row and, both times, the dishes came without their respective sauces. No dressing for the salad, no sauce on the chicken. When our concern was brought to the manager, it was a lackluster reaction. They offered a $10 gift card on a $15 dollar dish. Kind of insulting, especially since this is two visits in a row this has happened. Won't be going back for a while.

Food was delicious. Hot and it came out pretty quick. Our waitress Alexis was also great.

Mark!! the best server!! Very attentive friendly fun! Always available if needed but gave privacy for dining. Management should be happy to have him ..followed through with drinks, menus, promos, and anything else needed. Great atmosphere and delicious meals!

Everything was great...except given the pandemic in Rhode Island, Tavern in the Square is not following state protocols to seat only member of your immediate household. A table of 8 young adults having a great time, another table of four guys, group of girlfriends...I’m pretty sure my husband and I were the only ones who followed the rules. Tavern in the Square is enabling the continued uptick in COVID cases. Will not go back until all restrictions are lifted because they are non compliant.

The food was decent, American food with a good amount of variety and the service was great. I always like their drinks.

My new favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and they have a good variety for people like me who are vegetarian. The service is excellent every time we go. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent night out. Mark our server was very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu offering us suggestions and definitely didn’t stir us wrong. He made our night very fun. Tiki drink delicious and he had no problem with me switching out the pineapple juice for cranberry. He suggested the steak and they were awesome! So tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes could use a little butter, gravy or sauce but overall I would get them again. The only downfall was it seems noisy and loud but that won’t stop us we’ll be back and we hope Mark is working that night!

The Mediterranean chicken wrap was so tasty, I was happy to see a menu that had items other than burgers, pasta, and pizza.

Recommend the Sunday brunch! Very good food and quick service. Restaurant was also very clean and spaced appropriately.

Waitress was rude and more concerned with the hour and half table time limit. Must have mentioned it to us at least 4 times. Felt rushed.

The bang bang wings are my favorite and they always have great beers on draft.

Every time me and friend goes there, service is fantastic. The food was delicious and the drinks is always on point. We live the atmosphere and everything about the restaurant. Will be going there many more times.

Great New Years Brunch but definitely miss the brunch buffet. Hopefully someday it will be back.

Everything was fantastic- so bummed we forgot our leftovers and wished they’d called us (they had our info from the reservation). Otherwise everything was great!

We called ahead and made a reservation and had no problem when we arrived. Our

server was great and the food was hot and very good.

My father and I came for lunch and were seated promptly. Although there were many people there, everyone was social distanced properly and all waitstaff were appropriately wearing face masks. The food was delicious! A decent portion and so good. We will be back again!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! The servers are all so nice! The food is fresh & delicious! I have yet to have a bad meal from here. They take pride in what they serve to their guests.

WELAITRESS KEPT ASKING IF WE NEEDED FOOD. BUT 2E HAD BEEN TALKING BUT IT SEEMED TOO OFTEN !!! LIKE LET PPL LOOK AT MENUS & TALK FOR GODS SAKE!!!

Service was excellent. Also excellent response to social-distancing.

Our food took like 50 minutes to come out and we had a three year old with us. The servers hair was super greasy and another server was walking around with his hair in a messy bun with hair pieces flying all over the place. What happened to tying your hair back when you're a server? Our server also handed me a sauce with his fingers. Once the food came out it was really good, but just kindof gross that they dont have a "dress" code for workers.
