Top marks on all fronts, great food at a unique venue. Will definitely visit again when next in area.
Our second visit to Teatro and again a superb experience. Beautiful and tasty starters of Lobster Raviolo and Ham Hock terrine then lovely main courses of Chicken Supreme and Wagyu Burger.
Service was professional and friendly and a perfect start to an evening at the adjoining Barn Theatre. Free car parking opposite too. Will be back soon.
Best food i've had in a while. Delicious, fresh, clean food, and a yummie lemon meringue pie. Drink the rhubarb gin with ginger liqueur mmmmmmm
Pre theatre dinner which worked reasonably well. Food was excellent but service was slow which resulted in us being limited to one course or running the risk of running late for the show. Decided against the risk but it’s a shame as the mains were very tasty. Sharper service for pre theatre diners will bring in more people and bigger receipts.
Great pre-Theatre meal. Second time we’ve done this and can’t fault the service or food.
Great decor. Menu was varied but small - a sign of good fresh ingredients chosen due to seasonal availability. Nicely presented and delicious! Service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was quiet, but it was a Wednesday night in Cirencester with no shows on at the theatre. Outside space looks great for daytime or evening on a nice day.
Liked it so much I'm coming back next Saturday, bringing a different friend!
4 if us had a wonderful meal, very attentive staff, the live music was so nice. There was a great atmosphere & we would definitely return if in the area!!! A real treat! X
Fab evening , lovely food great gins ! Lovely company , and amazing piano player / singer !!
The food was nouvelle cuisine, which was sufficient for my party, but it would be unlikely to satisfy anybody with a hearty appetite.
We booked the restaurant for a pre theatre meal, which the waiters were aware of, but the service did not reflect this and we had to cancel our coffee and tea order to make the start of the performance.
When we booked the meal, we thought the restaurant would have a theatre menu, which they had when we have been before, and were disappointed to find that they no longer offered it.
Nice restaurant overall - good food (although the mains were rather salty) and average but friendly service. Convenient location when visiting the theatre next door.
We were going to the Barn Theatre and were attracted by the opportunity to eat close by immediately beforehand. Disappointed that there was no fixed price menu for theatre goers - seems like a missed opportunity. One of us had the sea bass and the other had the fennel vegetarian dish. Dishes were overly complex and some of the food not cooked well, e.g. fennel was charred and much of the large spring onion was raw and tough. Could be improved by keeping things simple and cooking it well. Expensive, particularly for the quality. A more reasonably priced menu would attract theatre goers.
Waiter was great - he recognised that we had to wait an unreasonably long time for our food and proactively offered a discount to compensate. Wine (Pino Grigio) was good.
Third visit and consistent high standard so very pleased and took a friend who also liked it. Disappointing that the pre theatre menu has passed by the wayside as apparently it was not taken up by enough diners - shame as it was excellent and adventurous. Has the 10% early bird discount been dropped? Forgot to check.. Recommended especially for pre show.
Pre-theatre dinner - just enough time for dinner and coffee by getting there and ordering quickly at 5.45.
Pork was delicious but came without the promised crackling and white wine was warm - otherwise very good.
An excellent meal but although I had been assured that we would be in good time for the theatre (we were 15 minutes late in arriving but were still told that we would be ok) we had to wait for nearly an hour for our main course which meant that we had to rush a good meal and felt stressed as we waited for our meal to arrive. We would recommend the restaurant for the food and pleasant and friendly staff - but allow plenty of time!
Excellent for dinner before a show at the Barn Theatre
Fantastic staff, amazing food. Would highly recommend. We had 6 in our group from ages 10 to 60, everyone loved the menu.
Lovely evening, good food and drink. Great sitting outside on the patio.
Very nice food. Loved the plum and frangipani tart with gooseberry and ginger beer sorbet. So refreshing. Not sure about the decor! It won’t put me off going again though. Price could be slightly less.
We absolutely loved Teatro, firstly the fantastic gin menu and the lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable.
The service was friendly and efficient.
The food for me was delicious especially the duck, one of the group was not so fond of the pannacotta, found it too complicated!
The ambience was lovely apart from there was a child crying/screaming at a nearby table, it was 8.30 and we were a little disappointed by this. That said the parent did take the child out.
We will return.
We had a fantastic pre theatre dinner at Theatro. Great food, service and atmosphere in lovely surroundings. Loved the gin menu as well as the early dining discount! Such a great transformation of a Cirencester landmark. Thank you for bringing this to Cirencester, we will be back!
I had booked a pre theatre meal and was suitably impressed with the inclusive, imaginative, menu, excellent service, presentation and surroundings. After the performance we moved back to the bar and enjoyed the rest of a bottle of wine from dinner and listened to the gentle, live music. We will definitely return.
Great little bar / restaurant with friendly service !
We had an excellent evening with lovely food, good service and delightful live music. Our only criticism is with the outside space, which needs some TLC.
Excellent meal and good prompt service for our pre theatre dinner.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, good wine list by the glass first rate food, will visit again.
A wonderful evening celebrating two couples anniversaries, most of the food was excellent the Wagyu burger was a little overcooked, but everything else was very good. The disappointing thing was that the singer/piano player who is usually there on a Saturday evening didn’t turn up, which was one of the reasons we booked this venue for our special celebrations, as we have been before and enjoyed the after-dinner experience in the piano bar!
Very impressed with the quality and flavour of food. The decor was very eclectic. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and would return.
Lovely evening spent dining with friends. Simply fabulous food as always, great service and lovely venue. Our favourite place to eat in Cirencester. Highly recommend. Jane M
This is a great place to eat before going to The Barn Theatre which is next door. The service is good and the menu offers a good range of tasty dishes.
Perfect for pre or post theatre
Varied and carefully selected menu
Ideal pre-show dinner for Barn Theatre
Only reason not 5 star ambience was the somewhat loud music in the bar when we arrived
Great food and they were very accommodating and attentive
Cirencester's best. Great food, exceptional staff, stunning decor and next to the Theatre.
Athough I enjoyed the ambience and the service I felt the value for money was very poor, I ordered the lamb asked if there were vegetables included,I was told there were, it was served with a few chick peas and laid on a bed of spinach, the lamb was a equivalent to a child’s portion. I had to pay for extra chips to partially fill my plate!
You may want to review your prices and compare it to what you get for your money at Cotes, The Fleece, The golden cross.
We are definitely not adverse to paying £150 for a meal for 4, quite often as we do but in this instance we felt robbed.
I hope you find this constructive criticism and to be honest we walked in for our first visit and thought Wow what an amazing place.
Our 1st here. Really lovely evening, great atmosphere, lovely decor and service and food fabulous!!
Getting seated was disorganized, had to wait 10 minutes for them to find "the right member of staff" to show us to our table, which was a pity because the rest of the service was good from our waitress. Menu and food was good but small portions.
Teatro has very quickly become the best restaraunt in Cirencester. The food quality is excellent and the staff make you feel most welcome
Very enjoyable experience, service very good, food very good, slightly small piece on belly pork but it had flavour. Great dessert. Would recommend a visit.
This restaurant has a modern upscale ambience with an innovative menu at reasonable prices. As well, their assortment of Martini cocktails are especially refreshing on a hot summer evening. They were such a hit with our party of four that we tried to replicate them as we traveled on the rest of our vacation. Not quite as successfully as the Teatro mixologist! All of our entrees were delicious. This was a completely satisfying dining experience before our Barn theatre experience!
