From the moment that we arrived we received a warm welcome. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable - she gave excellent service. We went for the pre-theatre menu which was very tasty. I've rated the ambience lower as there were only 2 couples eating at the time of our visit. We'll definitely be returning as we want to try out the a la carte menu. Excellent value for money!
Good food but very small portions for the price, lovely decor
Fab food, pleasant and speedy service with lively atmosphere- perfect for our pre-theatre dining 👍👌😊
The pre - theatre meal was a delight. Lovely touches of interesting taste combinations. Good surroundings and ambiance with attentive helpful service. A very enjoyable meal - will be back for a social occasion.
A very enjoyable pre-theatre supper in lovely surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend.
Discovered a fantastic new restaurant in Cirencester and was very pleasantly surprised.
Teatro is part of the new Barn Theatre development and we enjoyed an excellent meal with friends before watching The Secret Garden in the theatre at the weekend.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the creation of Teatro. A great atmosphere. Delicious food. Excellent wine and first class service from attentive and professional staff.
You've created a wonderful eating experience and a very special venue for the capital of the Cotswolds.
I hope the venture receives the support it deserves from Cirencester and the surrounding area and the many visitors to our town.
If you haven't yet seen The Secret Garden, treat yourself to an unexpectedly enjoyable and moving performance. On the evidence of what I saw, you don't have to travel to the West End to see exceptional theatre.
The food and staff were excellent, will definitely be back
First time visiting. Definitely go again. Service from going in to finish was excellent and our waitress was really helpful.
I would recommend to friends.
Lovely with good vibe. Food nicely served and good choice
We haven’t been to Teatro before, we knew it when it was the vaults and like what they have done with the place. The main criticism I have was in the bar area where they have some high tables and chairs and then some very low tables and stools which for me were a bit odd. The food however was very good, bar staff good and the young lady (Tuesday) who mainly served us was very efficient and friendly. We didn’t know what to expect but were very happy and would recommend it.
Excellent meal followed by a visit to the show The Secret Garden also excellent. Both restaurant and theatre within 15 minutes of my home is an added bonus.
Really lovely pre-theatre diner. Good atmosphere even at 5.30! A great find!
we thoroughly enjoyed our pre show dinner at Teatro -an excellent meal, themed to tie in with the show and beautifully presented. Ease of parking and good service made this a thoroughly recommendable occasion
Our party of five had a tasty pre-theatre 3 course meal on a Tuesday evening in cosy surroundings. Each course of the meal was imaginatively themed to tie in with the different areas mentioned in the The Secret Garden - India, London and Yorkshire. Our waitress looked after us well and we were served our meal in good time for us to enjoy it and make our way through to the theatre for the 7.30pm performance. I would recommend having a pre-theatre meal here. There is easy parking over the road and the theatre is just next door.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Teatro and will definitely go again. The pre-theatre menu, cleverly themed to the musical production, was perfectly prepared and portions were sensibly sized. A great addition to local dining facilities.
I took my mum for a pre theatre, post birthday meal and it was fantastic. The food was excellent and the service even better. Would highly recommend to other, in fact I already have.
Very good. Lovely food and great service. Will be back again.
We had pre theatre menu. Perfect start to the evening.
Great evening good staff helpful
Hope we will be able to eat out in the courtyard garden when the better weather comes , in an area that will be totally no smoking or vaping and not close or downwind of the smoking area. Before people complain about my comments I am a smoker
Delicious food in a cosy venue with fun, friendly atmosphere and live music. Well-stocked bar with knowledgeable staff. Great place for an evening with friends.
I bought my husband here as a birthday treat we enjoyed the food and the ambience. The food was exceptional delicious. We both had the duck with the goats cheese bon bons the duck was cooked perfectly, the bon bons took the dish to another level. The service was both professional and friendly and very efficient. I heartly recommend this little gem in the Cotswolds. And the gin list is extensive we enjoyed our pre-dinner gins! X
Table booked for 4 people.
Arrived early so had a drink in the bar area. Good choice on menu, well presented and delicious.
Moved to bar area after meal to listen to a young lady singing and playing the piano.
It was a very good meal and the service was good. A bit noisy at times.
Far exceeded for expectations. The only issue i had wad that the red wine was to cold. Not sure how its stored but it wasn't quite the right temperature. Celebrated my wife's anniversary and it was certainly made a very special occasion here.
For our first visit this was a very pleasant evening. The food was lovely and the menu, whilst not extensive, contained interesting options and was priced in the mid-range. The service was friendly, although a little slow for us, but not excessively so. I imagine that, if you were in a talkative group it would be just right. The venue is split into several areas which gives a feeling of intimacy. There is also a large outdoor area which I imagine will be lovely in the summer. We will definitely be going again.
Such a lovely ambiance and great tasting food but the service seriously needs improvement please, please, please look at some training for the service staff, we were shown to our seats and given menu and told “we will be back in a minute” they didn’t ask if we wanted drinks 15mins later they returned.... food and drinks ordered waited 20mins (while I could see bar staff standing chatting, though not sure drinks order had been passed to them) before I had to ask for our drinks again.... this pace continued, everything took so long we ended up rushing our planned leisurely cheese board to make our taxi.
Nobody seems to be in control of the service staff and you have to catch them when you see them or you wait an age.
No water offered though glasses on the table.
The venue is beautiful and a massive bonus to the local area but if your service doesn’t match the quality of the food people will get fed up.
Service was very slow it took 45 mo it’s to her our main course. The restaurant was not fully booked and was quiet when we arrived so no excuses. Tad overpriced. Very noisy on a Saturday night especially in the bar. Being aimed at the younger generation.
I realise I'm about to go against the grain with my review! Looking at the menu, I had high hopes....we were disappointed to receive our starters of venison scotch egg on cold plates, with equally limp, cold broccoli. The scotch egg itself had clearly not been cooked with enough care; the quails egg inside was as hard as a nut and the whole thing had already been cut in half - clumsy presentation. Our main was the lamb Wellington; at £18 I expected quality cooking but again this fell short of the mark with no hint of pink! It was all tasty enough but the menu and prices promise somethIng that is not yet being delivered. I've previously eaten at Jesses's bistro which is perhaps comparable price-wise and I can't fault the cooking there. I realise that this restaurant is newer but you should be aware of the quality of other establishments in the vicinity! The promotion on the night we visited was welcome; bottle of wine when two courses were ordered. I will come here again - the bar and gin cocktail menu are both great, plus the live music means that this venue brings something a little different! But teething issues in the kitchen need to be resolved before I'm happy paying that price again.
The food was great the atmosphere was good, pianist was really good and great gin menu! I would definitely recommend
We enjoyed our meal at Teatro, the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was superb, the free bottle of wine offer was nice but the 2nd bottle we chose was great! The decor made a refreshing change as did the whole evening from Cirencester's usual eateries!
fantastic meal, great service would definitely love to go back sometime soon
Excellent food and service. Great evening spent here again. Love the place.
A lovely menu, very attentive service, great decor, warm ambience. The piano bar is a great additional treat and this encourages us to stay later than we expected. Looking forward to warmer weather when we can sit outside on the terrace also.
Delightful food with very helpful staff. We really enjoyed the entire evening. Next time we will sit and listen to the pianist/singer after dinner is done.
Food was fab and the staff are always very friendly great night !!
Execellent food and service. Vibrant and happening place
This was the second time we have been to Teatro and have not been disappointed. The food is great and not over priced. The ambiance is good as we can have our meal and then go to the bar area for drinks. Would recommend the restaurant.
Lovely food - great decor and layout but sadly yet again (this being my second visit) poor customer service and lack of training spoils Teatro for me - I really like this place and want to recommend it to my friends but the customer service and young staff is letting them down - we had to ask for our free bottle of wine that was a special offer if you booked for 4 people in January - waitress said we had to have 2 courses each to have this offer ? Other issues during the evening - I hope the management are listening as they could have a little gem there.
I don’t often write reviews but was disappointed with this place. Me and my partner were recommended it by family so we booked a table Saturday evening, the venue was busyish but not packed. When we were seated service was incredibly slow and we had to wait over an over before recieving drinks and a starter. Once our starters arrived we were disappointed as my partners fish cake was cold in the middle. My partner was promptly ill after but didn’t mention anything. Once our mains arrived I cut into my fish and found a hair had been cooked into the sauce it had come with. I complained and neither me or my partner ate our mains after, hers was served cold and her steak was well done as opposed to rare like she’s aksed for. Not sure if this was just an off night but both service and food were terrible and have put us both off visiting again.
Fabulous new local restaurant, which, once the Barn Theatre is open again, will become the place to have a pre-theatre meal.
