Decent but no exciting. Food was good tasting but menu was a bit one way - meat in sauce.
Service was okay but not too attentive.
Was interesting sitting at the bar watching the chefs prepare food... a bit expensive but interesting take on traditional Indian thalis... g&t menu extensive with some hits and misses.
Nice burrata starter but disappointed with mains, very expensive for what it was.
Had a really enjoyable leaving meal for a team member. The food was really great with lots of choice (including quite unusual but excellent dishes such as haggis) - the team really enjoyed it. The service was great.
Great food. I much preferred this menu to the soho one. Very friendly kitchen staff but the service on our side of the bar was all over the place. Had to keep chasing things up. Great cocktails once they arrived. If there’s just 2 of you get a seat at the bar
Temper is incredibly cool - love the slick decor and the menu is brilliantly imaginative - especially the desserts!
Eaten at Temper city several times. The food this time wasn’t up to usual standard. The thali ate was relatively ‘bare’, the steak overly salty and the goat swimming in oil. Service was great as always.
I am a big fan of Temper Soho but was less keen on the food concept at this version. The waiter recommended the naked thali and to get 3 dishes and a side. I thought £5 for the thali was steep and there were a lot of random elements that didn’t add much. 3 dishes was too many and we ended up leaving half a dish. We had assumed portions would be more like the Soho version. Overall I was a bit disappointed.
service was superb as soon as we entered we were greeted with a beaming smile by a lady who asked if we wanted to sit outside but we opted for inside and had an amazing waitress Itinoo? I told the manageress she was outstanding for her help with the menu and not intrusive but always available and informative
Another great visit to Temper in the City. Highly recommended as an alternative to the bars in the area if you're looking for dinner before heading off somewhere. Service is quick and friendly, the food is delicious (I keep ordering the octopus), and the drinks menu is more interesting than the usual offerings.
We're going to try Temper Soho next time we're over that way.
Absolutely loved it! Great food, fantastic atmosphere
Sat at the talking to the chefs who were giving us bits to try which was awesome
Will definitely be back
Took my husband for his birthday, as he's seen the reviews and was really keen to go. Not disappointment, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The meal was very enjoyable we both went for the beef, different options both were very good. Although disappointed with the crab starter. Altogether great evening, would definitely recommend and would go again, maybe get a seat at the counter.
Excellent food but 2 meals arrived cold and the replacements took over 20 minutes so were eventually cancelled. Service could have been better dealing with that. Would definitely still go again however, the food we did have was delicious.
I really wanted to love Temper City, but I was disappointed. I didn't feel that the concept they were trying to achieve, of curries/thalis + charcoal/BBQ meat worked together (it should have done, as so many Asian restaurants have curry and tandoor options that totally work but the meat was not spiced enough, the curries were not hearty or substantial enough, the bare thali option which is recommended is just full of trimmings that work better with rice, like bombay mix, matchstick potatoes and pickle) the portions were too small and overpriced in my opinion. The venue is gorgeous but was only 1/6 full and so it was totally lacking in atmosphere. As the restaurant got slightly busier, the good service petered out too.
Only slight issue was that starters, sides and mains all arrived within 5mins of each other. While I didn’t matter too much due to type of food and may have been intentional, it is still good to let patrons know as it was my first visit. Thanks
Delicious menu with interesting flavours and mix of different cuisines. Friendly staff with good service. Would recommend for a date night or casual evening with friends.
Dined with my wife on a Saturday night - was surprisingly busy for a Saturday night in the city. Food was delicious and delightfully different - Indian flavours meets BBQ. The squid pakora and pork belly curry were particular highlights. Vibrant atmosphere - can imagine this being a great place to go with a group of friends as the drinks list is great and the strong flavours stand up really well to free flowing booze. Altogether a really fun night with brilliant food and service.
Amazing service! As soon as I entered the resturant there was a member of staff to assist me to the waiting area. Food was delivered speedily. Overall a great experience!
Another fantastic meal at Temper. We've been a few times now and it's been brilliant every time. I tried the octopus starter and it was delicious, really tender. My chicken main course was equally yummy and was served with a salad, so I felt very healthy (hides the beer). I didn't have room for dessert but managed a spoonful of the husband's bananadrama - fantastic.
Great location, friendly staff, delicious food, and change out of £100. Great music too!
Excellent food and service- the chef Neil Rankin was known to us and was the specific reason for visiting the restaurant- and we were not disappointed on any level. The menu is adventurous and dishes were all incredibly tasty (4 starters, 4 main course. and 2 deserts). Highlight Korean Haggis (nice twist), mutton roll and crab cakes- rump steak and beef rib. Service was outstanding and friendly/ truly 5* and highly recommended
Abbiamo cenato molto bene , carne ottima i condimenti forse troppo speziati per palati italiani ma per il classico tutto perfetto , i camerieri erano simpatici e il locale molto bello
I reserved a table at Temper City for a Saturday dinner for four people with the intention to order the Feasting menu they list on their website. Unfortunately we were told when we arrived and were handed the standard menus that the Feasting option was not available and had to be prearranged in advance. Is does not state this anywhere on the Temper City website, nor was it communicated when the booking was taken. This was very disappointing because I made the reservation at this restaurant specifically for the Feasting menu. The food we did order instead was decent, and the staff were friendly and attentive to our table.
Apart from this, the ambiance of the restaurant was awful. We noticed as we arrived that the music was quite loud, booming through the very large restaurant space that on this particular evening was quite empty regarding customers. We asked the waiting staff if the music could be turned down, we believe it was slightly but only for it to be turned up even louder later in the evening. The customers present were trying to enjoy their food and talk with friends across their respective tables and were having to shout at each other to do so. I don't know what type of venue Temper City is trying to be, but for me music is fine in the background as long as it doesn't drown out the entire space. In general, places like this are either a restaurant or a club type venue, not both at the same time.
The place was really nice, the service excellent, our waiter was so nice.
However the food was really not that nice at all.
Really good service. We enjoyed the different food choices. Everything we picked was very tasty!
Little too loud for a business meal. Good food, good atmosphere. Great happy hour!
So much flavour in a cool setting. This restaurant is off the main thoroughfare but worth the find. The pakora, mutton roll, tatties, crispy egg in katsu thali and half chicken were all delicious. We had the Bananarama (deep fried mars bar in banana split) for dessert but it was cold and a bit stodgy by the time it was served - defeating the point of the dessert! Otherwise good, drinks and service were great.
Really disappointed, the food was not very good. The waiting staff were fine but one waitress was very enthusiastic, a bit too enthusiastic.
The fish was undercooked, they need to make sure which fish is hung over the pit first. I found then grilled fish lacked flavour. The dry goat was very salty and I wasn’t not keen on the accompaniment on the thali only good thing was the paratha.
All Temper need to do is give me a spot with my name on it as I simply love this place! The food is excellent brilliant staff who know my name 🙌🙌 and I leave a stone heavier too lol
We had an awesome meal at Temper! Great fun, amazing food, the staff were superb and the 80s tunes were bang on! We will defintey be returning! Highlights were the Korean Haggis, Mutton Roll, homemade kimchi and of course the pork and beef ribs!
Confiding menu with only few dishes outstanding , nice atmosphere- at least while being quite empty. Probably loud when full
Overall we had a great experience. We visited Temper at 7pm on a Saturday and although the restaurant was far from full we waited over an hour for our main courses to arrive (the starters were about 30 mins). The food was well worth waiting for-I had the mince & tattles to start which was pretty awesome followed by the tandoori chicken . We chose a £20 bottle of red from the happy hour menu which was very drinkable, our waitress was brilliant as was the banging 80s soundtrack. In summary a lovely meal, not overly expensive but given the choice I would probably revisit the Soho branch first.
A must try, food amazing, quality ingredients obviously used. all of the staff knowledge of menu and items impressive
Amazing food and experience. Will definitely come back again
Excellent food. Not a great description of how many dishes per person or how to incorporate Thali plates.
Food was good, service was good atmosphere was good too!
Great food and drinks list, really good music and atmosphere. However portions are a bit on the small side and we were a bit disappointed to go at 8pm on a Friday night for some of the main course dishes to have run out!
By far one of the best restaurants we have been to in the last couple of months. Outstanding food, great drinks and fabulous service (...great playlist!). This place is absolutely worth a visit. Certainly coming back!
first visit and very interesting menu
food was great as was the 80s music and atmosphere but the service was lacking.....quite often the boys in our group of 7 - they were 6 of the 7 were sat with empty beer classes and we had to chase for drinks.
Great food with an Indian twist! I had the dry goat thali and really enjoyed it. Lovely vibe to the place; friendly service. Will definitely come back!
Vibrant restaurant providing an exceptional indian dining experience with a fabulous gin menu too!
