   We arrived told we had to be off the table in 90 minutes after 40 mins I had to ask for the menu. Stuck downstairs in a basement and told a party was arriving at 8:30. So had to get off the table 3 more times . Food arrived all at the same time pre cooked and microwaved . Possibly the worst meal I have eaten out in London

   We chose this restaurant because we love the idea of the whole beast being used and I have to say that the food tasted delicious. However, I have a couple of issues that I'd like to raise. 1. We booked on line after looking at the menu and prices. It seemed very reasonable for example £13.50 for a steak (I kind of expected to have to pay extra for sides) but thought it seemed ok. However, £13.50 was for 100g and an average steak was 300 - 500g. WHAT? 2. The waiter explained to us, once we'd been seated that the dishes were small, more like tapas size. Now, I'm a big eater so he recommended that we order 3 dishes per person at £12 - £15 each. WHAT? 3. I'm not a chav or a uneducated person but the menu just didn't make any sense. Does any one know what "Chupe" is? Smoked Haddock and Corn chupe is actually soup at £12 for a bowl of soup. To reiterate, the food tasted lovely and the service was ok but the experience was misleading to say the least.

   Food took forever to turn up. Arrived at 7.30 and dint eat until 9. Was told that 1kg porterhouse takes 50 minutes to cook - would have been good to have been told that when ordering. Steak selection was also restricted with nothing available under 500g - which is why we had to compromise between ourselves and order the 1kg porterhouse which is not what we individually wanted. Won’t be going back

   My son and nephews b day . The service while booking (I changed the numbers3 times ) was amazing . They were so helpful . During our meal they were very happy to chat through menus etc great help .

    Although the food was outstanding it was spoilt by the service. It took 15 mins after walking through the to get asked for a drink. Then another 20 mins to order our meal. when spending £240 for 2 people I expect a better service. Quality of food was amazing but the service really let it down, was not worth that amount on money in my opinion.

    The food was good. However we had the beef skewers and they were raw. The rest of the food was really tasty, but that was spoilt by the fact we were sat at 7 and then at 8 told we had to move because there was another booking we were then ‘allowed’ to sit there for another 20 minutes and then were moved to the terrace before we paid the bill or finished our drinks, we were then told to leave the terrace even though we had bought another drink. In summary, tasty food, but didn’t feel very welcome and the whole experience was rushed. For the price of the food you should at least be able to sit at the table long enough to enjoy it.

    Food and service was excellent.Served me American mustard with my steak though which was weird as that is something that should be served with a hotdog. Steak was nice but for that sort of money I’d rather go to goodman’s or hawksmoor to be honest

    The food does not offer good value. As an example, the beef ‘skewers’ at £15, were effectively sausage shaped burgers, and distinctly lacking in any flavour. The portion sizes are very small to encourage multiple selections of overpriced tapas. The service and atmosphere was good, but would not return based on the food quality and value.

    Good food although slow service hampered the group experience. Seemed very disorganised for what should be a higher-end restaurant. Booking was easy enough and the ambiance was very good for mid week dinner.

    Was going fine until we found a live slug in our food. Reaction from the manager was very nonchalant, indicating this is a regular occurrence. He initially said our meal was on the house but then said only things we had ordered before we found the slug were free so we would need to pay for dessert and would not budge on this, saying he had done enough to accommodate us. A real shame as the food was ok but we had to rifle through every dish to make sure we didn't find anything else.

    First time eating here and would definitely return. The food was good it just came out at different times with the sides we ordered coming out last. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful

    Very poor experience. Our drinks didn’t arrive until half way through the meal. The dips and veg dishes didn’t turn up until the end of the meal. The taco burgers were dry and really salty. The food was generally really greasy, warm and salty. Not a great experience at all. The staff were ok and took the dips and sides off the bill .

    There are too many other better places in London to go. No light, very noisy and the absolutely nothing remarkable. They pretend to have a transgressor kitchen, but we found nothing extraordinary.

    After the last time I went, I'm very delighted too say that the service at Temper Covent Garden has really improved incredibly! We were seated on time, we served on time, food was amazing, drinks were amazing, hung out there till late when they closed down. It was an enjoyable night all around, just like how we remember it before the pandemic. Well done! My only very minor feedback is to try and make sure the waiters study the menu (which is quite short) before they they start working. Our waiter didn't quite know what all the items in the menu were and had to ask her team to learn. This didn't take away from our positive experience of the night, but just a minor point to improve on.

    Food here is really really delicious. I had chicken and Temper chips and Hispi cabbage - spicy with garlic and onions. Also the soft shelled crab tacos were amazing. Service was great. A bit too noisy to be able to talk to friends. Had to yell across communal table. But because one of our party had just had news of serious illness, the Maitre D kindly moved us to a table for six where we could chat to each other.

    As temper is a small venue, when large tables are booked, you cannot escape their celebrations. In the 2 hours I was there we had to listen to them sing happy birthday twice, the drunker they got the louder they got which resulted in a lot of yelling of conversations and cheering. Which is all well and good. But unfortunately When in a small venue such as this you can’t help but end up having to stop your own conversation until The party has stopped

    A nice enough restaurant, but it tried to do too many things - tapas plates, tacos and steaks. It would have been better if they just doubled down their efforts on the steaks and did them really well. There was also a lot of back and forth with picking out steak - I think we got there after three or four tries! Novel idea, but they need to get it more succinct.

    We were outside surrounded by heaters that were not working, was quite cold. When we asked to put some more on, we were told they couldn't plug more in. That's not a customer problem, they need to sort that out.

    What a WOW address! We went for a team lunch and it did excel our expectations. The food is very nice, pleasant in the mouth, just beautiful. Even by the thought of it, it gives me the desire to go back! The service is outstanding. They are lovely, friendly but professional and knowledgable. We asked for another dish because we forgot to order it when we did our grouped order, and it came rapidly. I think the price point is correct. The decor is great, we had a private booth and it was perfect. Thank you to the whole team. We will be back!! PS: I highly recommend it for a team lunch, or for a group of friends or even for a date.
