temper is a unique barbecue, steak and open fire pit restaurant where we cook everything in front of your eyes using only wood and charcoal in huge 4.5m long fire pit in the middle of the room.
We only use the best produce available and source our meat from local farms and butcher it all ourselves in house.
We serve our meats alongside tacos, parathas, made in house and mezcal cocktails.
Each week we have our Sunday Roast that is perfect for a table of 2 or 10 with it's sharing style platter.
Cheddar, pickles, American mustard & Korean barbecue mayonnaise
yorkshire pudding, beef fat roast potatoes, seasonal greens, roasted parsnips, carrots, spiced cabbage, burnt ends gravy
Took a little while for us to be served, and could have used an explanation of the menu concept as we were being sat down. Once served however the food was great and we had a lovely meal.
The booking slots are too short given speed of service. Meat was cold as well.
Few colleagues meeting for lunch, everybody enjoyed the food and the cheeseburger taco was the favourite!!
Overall nice experience with good food, will be happy to go back for another meal.
We had the opportunity to sit right around the fire, and being able to watch the chefs prepare these gorgeous, flavorful, thoughtful dishes was such a treat. The food and drinks were outstanding, the energy of the restaurant was lively and fun (while still at a volume level where conversation was possible), and the staff was friendly and passionate.
Unfortunately there were a few items
Not available on the menu when we got there but what was there was very good. Service was amazing, quick delivery Of food. We had an issue at the end but the manager was very gracious and attentive to resolve the problem.
Top notch Sunday roast, will definitely be returning
Amazing food in a very lively atmosphere. Perfect Sunday goodness.
The food was good but the meat seemed quite over priced. £40 for two slices of beef and a couple of little bits of brisket which was mostly fat.
We did question them about the price and they kindly gave us a dessert for free which softened the blow.
The Waitress brought over the bottle of wine and forgot to open it for us. She just left it on the table and walked away.
The restaurant was so noisy we had to move to a corner table and still then it was quite hard to have a conversation with the person opposite me.
It was 2.30 on a Sunday so maybe it’s not always that noisy.
The cookie dessert was delicious.
Absolutely the BEST roast dinner I have ever had. Literally better than shoreditch house roast. Better than those country pub roasts, better than a Christmas dinner. Service was amazing, drinks were amazing just everything was perfect.
An amazing discovery, fantastic smiley staff; service by Jordan & colleagues was attentive & professional.
The food, Turmeric roasted whole chicken with tasty vegetables, followed by Lime sorbet whilst surrounded by fantastic music 🎶 & cheery clientele!
Very reasonably priced, for London & Soho.
A must, whether visiting London or a resident!
Food was great! Service was off. She had attitude, wouldn’t write down our orders, and she kept forgetting things. Also, they should not stuff 8 people in a booth, they had issues clearing plates, serving etc…
While the food was of good quality the advertised weight of steaks seemed extremely exaggerated and overpriced plus the lower priced wines were of poor quality
Food was really nice and watching the chefs at work was brilliant entertainment however service was a little slow and not a lot of space when sat down around the kitchen island.
Great food and the staff were friendly and informative.
Great vibe and cocktails also.
Excellent restaurant and very good cuisine, fantastic cocktails and wine choices.
Initially tried to charge £506 to my card for a £160 bill, and then subsequently (possibly conveniently) forgot to deduct the £30 deposit I previously paid to secure the table. TBF, they resolved the issue straight away when raised with them
Super rushed, felt like we were on a timer from when we arrived. Food was good but overall experienced outweighed the food.
Food was disappointing for the price u are charged.
Went for a selection of small plates which were all great and then tucked into (still) one of the best desserts in London (the cookie dough). Service and atmosphere excellent as always
Great meal although felt rather rushed - we had an early table and it seemed the waitress wanted to get us through our meal asap - I had to ask several times to give us some time. Felt a little uncomfortable as a result but otherwise a great meal.
Yeah it’s good, quite expensive for a burrata.
Lovely service and great food! Love it. If you are looking for any kind of meat and steaks I definitely recommended this place. The prices are too fair and the dishes are very considerate. You will love it.
Great place to go for a nice uptown experience great scenery, great tastes and selections, but would have loved the option for a larger steak.
Fun and informal. Great if you are sat on the stools near the central cooking area. Be aware the food comes out quickly so don’t plan to make a whole evening out of it!
The food was excellent and the wait staff were incredibly accommodating to help celebrate our friends birthday.
Fantastic ambience and great food. We didn’t even get any of the steaks but all the small plates were excellent
Really friendly staff and top quality food. The atmosphere was excellent. Definitely lives up to the hidden gem description.
good food perfect for sharing. Bar seat is good for 2 and great to see the action in the grills
We had the squash, duck tacos, buratta, whole branzino and grilled cabbage. All were excellent.
We were celebrating a joint birthday (added to our booking reservation note) at Temper, having previously had a wonderful visit back in 2018-19.
Upon arrival we were rushed, told we had 1:30 before the table was needed again. The food that arrived wasn’t anywhere near the same level as it had been previously. The meat was dry, the guacamole was over-limed to the point of making one wince, the porterhouse was incredibly tough, the potatoes were cold, and the cabbage had a tasteless beige sauce covering it. The tacos were pleasant enough. The service throughout was super rushed - we weren’t made to feel at ease in the slightest. To cap things off, we were booted out before having dessert despite it being a birthday celebration. We spent £300 for 4 people and had 4 beers and no further drinks. Super disappointing, won’t be back.
Beautiful food, very tasty but a little to expensive for the portion sizes… 4 of us left feeling a little hungry and £400 lighter… Would return for a special occasion.
We had a table for 6 of us - we moved it a bit earlier as the guests requested an earlier dinner - and we sat down about 6.20 pm - the place was empty. It did fill up and at 8 pm we were told we had 15 minutes to get off the table. Would have helped to be told that as we sat down and "managed" a bit better as a large table and 2 hours can be a bit tight timing wise. Food great - service great, being given 15 minute warning ... not great,
Nice candlelit dusky vibe in this restaurant. Food was delicious definitely recommended the meaty nachos as it had the best flavour.
Nice enough but food didn’t have the big, flame-grilled flavours I was expecting.
Good food. Chatty, friendly chef. Service could have been more attentive. B* expensive. Would go again.
Great atmosphere fantastic food and the staff were the best
Lovely food and drinks
Legit Sunday Roast!
It was a busy Saturday eve and I think the staff were a bit overwhelmed. They forgot to put our order through so we were eating over an hour after being seated. The food was also not quite up to where it used to be a few years ago, which is a shame! Appreciate it's really tough after Covid so likely the reason for this but sadly not quite on par with how Temper used to be.
