Steak
temper is a unique BBQ, steak and open fire pit restaurant where we cook everything in front of your eyes using only wood and charcoal in huge 4.5m long fire pit in the middle of the room.

We only use the best produce available and source our meat from local farms and butcher it all ourselves in house.

We serve this alongside tacos, parathas made in house and mezcal cocktails.

Each week we have ‘Sunday sharing specials’ for the table.

We have 180 seats which you can book but we always reserve room for walk-ins.

We visited two 30th birthdays, despite noting in advance of the special occasion the restaurant did not acknowledge this at all.

Somehow, they also managed to completely forget the fact that we ordered a 900g Chateaubriand, which was expected to be the heart of our dining experience. They also omitted a few of our side orders, it was as if they reviewed our order and crossed off the things they didn’t want to cook. To add insult to injury, we were even given steak knives like some kind of sick joke...

Señor manager did his best to resolve the situation, albeit after a rather heated discussion in which it was assumed that we received said steak. He was happy to provide us with alternative (inferior) cuts, and was generous in ensuring we were taken care of thereafter, yet it didn’t make up for the disregard we were treated with before kicking up a fuss. We were in the corner booth and this just added to the lack of service, as it very much felt as if we were an afterthought, frequently left with empty glasses.

Overall: we all left feeling more smacked than temper’s smacked cucumber.

If you fancy for good beef, go somewhere else! But desserts were good. We were a party of 8 but had to squeeze in a table for 6! They just simply to lazy to set up a proper table for us. The restaurant was only 1/3 occupied. As a party of 8, I had to pay service charge, but they indeed did not deserve!

Food was amazing, service excellent and the house wine almost perfectly matched the steak. However if you are of a rotund stature try not to be seated around the chefs in the middle of the restaurant as my husband was extremely uncomfortable throughout our visit as the seats are bolted to the floor and are very close to the bar.

Been to Tamper with some friends, the food was definitely good.

Avoid booking the last timing slot: They do accept reservations 15 minutes before kitchen closing. you won t have time to read the menu and won t get the possibility to request more stuff in the end. Honestly, the managers would better take out this slot from the online booking.

Staff were average to interested. Food was fairly basic for the dream you're sold on social media and the menu which is a big shame.
Meat was so salty, needed about 2 gallons of water the next day!
Cocktails were delicious.
Overall after really looking forward to this I'm extremely dissapointed and don't feel as meal was worth the money at all

I had dined here before pre-theatre and enjoyed it very much.
On this occasion it was a group of 6 friends.
The table booth was excellent. The service was fine.
The big BUT- the music was ridiculously loud so that you could only talk to the person next to you or shout very loudly which is very tiring for an evening get-together with friends.

The food was not as good as the previous visit. The concept of sharing worked for the meat dishes but not for the ‘whole plaice’ which wasn’t clear when we ordered it.

I would not go here again for a get together.

Table booked in advance but end up sitting next to the kitchen area. Very small space, not thought through. Can't move around. Not pleasant experience. Even restaurant wasn't full stuff tried to squeeze as many people around as possible. Food very avreage and overpriced. Service ok.

What a wonderful restaurant - valentines date sorted! Stunning bar, large open-fire cooking, whole animal BBQ,
amazing ambience. Great range of wines.... what’s not to love?! The team were superb... we’ll definitely be back, thank you!

A lovely meal at Temper. My only criticism would be that it was a little too dark. Difficult to read the menus and I would have liked to have seen more clearly what I was eating.

Slow service for drinks. Got pork and beef dishes wrong way round (for someone that doesn’t eat pork). Basically threw the plates on the table at one stage.

Overpriced average food, really underwhelming. Some dishes were ok, some were good, but it’s pretty expensive for what it is. There are so many better options in Soho. Won’t be wasting my money there again and wouldn’t recommend to others. Service was really good.

Incredible food, ace cocktails, fab wait staff but not enough of them so left hanging a few times (but no drama) and the acoustics in the booths are terrible if you’re surrounded by screeching people! Still, all in all, wonderful experience - thanks

Fantastic place for long overdue catch up with friends. Food and drinks were great, high lights were the Al Pastor tacos, and the pork carnitas!!

Really nice vibe, place filled out shortly after we arrived but it’s a nice hustle and bustle nothing hectic. Great value for money.

Highly recommend and will definitely be back for more cookie desserts!

I would recommend Soho to a friend, but not on Sundays.

On Sunday they only do a Sunday roast. Although it was delicious, it was not what I expected when I booked a table. My boyfriend is a meat lover and we wanted to have a special piece of meat. It is not possible on Sunday. We didn't mind but it should at least be mentioned somewhere on the website on when you book a table on Sunday.

It was a delightful experience on a cold, blustery Sunday evening. The food was delicious, though the smoked goat was a tad dry - the roast goat the chef shared with me as he was preparing was not dry at all, however, and much appreciated. The staff recommendations were excellent as well, including the mezcal margarita, and the half baked cookie dessert. Definitely an excellent repast, particularly for satisfying your carnivorous streak.

Wanted to visit Temper for some time now and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Food was great and the waiter serving our table was really knowleadgable about wines and pairing with our food. Tacos portions could have been either bigger or cheaper but didn’t bother me that much. Main course (smoked lamb shoulder) was absolutely great and definitely can serve 3 people. Will return for sure.

Went to another temper Covent garden a few months ago and the food was amazing, especially the goat carnitas. Came back to this branch based off that meal and this time it was really poor. We could barely hear each other, our waitress seemed to wish she was anywhere but there, the goat and beef carnitas were unbelievably dry. Completely different to the first time we had them, they were served in a bowl and had sauce. These were on a leaf and so dry, I don't understand, were they meant to be like this?! We left half of it. The wings were flabby, we left them, the potatoes were neither here nor there, and we left those, as well as the burrata which was just boring, literally like someone opened a packet of burrata and put it into a pot. Completely underwhelming and at points, plain bad. Even though we left a lot of food nobody thought to ask how the food was, or if anything was wrong or even during the meal if everything was OK, or needed anything, even drinks. We chose NOT to pay the full service charge (although we still paid some of it) as we didn't feel the food or service warranted it, after paying, a waiter literally ran after us in front of everyone in the restaurant and said we owed more money. That was the most effort anyone showed us the whole evening. Unbelievable. Embarrassing. Would not recommend.

The noise levels when we were at Temper where so loud it ruined our meal. We actually looked on the decibel reading on a phone and it was beyond a reasonable limit for a restaurant at and in fact the meter said that it was at a level 93db avaage (which will hurt your hearing if listened to for I hour and it peaked 104 which is the same level a pop/rock concert & would hurt your hearing after 7!mins! The food was mostly good we started with olives & guacamole which came straight away but then there was a long delay before the other food came and then it came tougher. Both the meat dishes were cooked well but the side dishes were really disappointing.

A superb restaurant with some excellent food, service was of a high standard although a drink order was forgotten (not a problem until the siracha wings arrived!)
If you go you will not be disappointed, 3 or less eat at the counter to watch everything get cooked in front of you.

Great theatre and atmosphere despite eating early you could watch the restaurant come to life. Something magical watching what the chefs do and how much care they put into your order
Would like the chairs at the bar/grill to have a bigger pitch not very comfortable

For a slightly more expensive option, the food was rather tasteless. Flat iron is cheaper and in my opinion, far better.

The service however was very good and attentive and it is a lovely space. Just a shame about the food.

Food at Temper is great, would have liked to try more dishes. Especially recommend the goat carnitas and beef fat potatoes. Portion sizes are quite small for the price and it felt like the waiter was trying to 'upsell' on what was an already expensive meal.

Food is always good. I love the atmosphere there but this time, the lighting was too dark and I couldn't see what I was eating. The service is always good. You have to try cookie dough dessert, I can go there for that. 上の中レベルの肉専門レストラン。お肉はいろいろ選べて、前菜のタコスも変わっていて美味しい。特にボーンマローはおすすめ。デザートのクッキードウは焼きかけの柔らかいクッキー。これは美味しいので必ず試すべき。
