temper is a unique barbecue, steak and open fire pit restaurant where we cook everything in front of your eyes using only wood and charcoal in huge 4.5m long fire pit in the middle of the room.
We only use the best produce available and source our meat from local farms and butcher it all ourselves in house.
We serve our meats alongside tacos, parathas, made in house and mezcal cocktails.
Each week we have our Sunday Roast that is perfect for a table of 2 or 10 with it's sharing style platter.
yorkshire pudding, beef fat roast potatoes, seasonal greens, roasted parsnips, carrots, spiced cabbage, burnt ends gravy
The food is ok but the service is terrible. The wait staff aren’t trained (ours didn’t know how to use a corkscrew!) so it’s not their fault, the management needs to up its game to get them up to speed.
Great venue - a little cold though. Would have been nice to be sat next to the kitchen to see the food being prepared.
The food was quite good but the music was very loud to the point the that the waiter was struggling to talk to us. The playlist was also pretty bad which I know is subjective but it was quite jarring to be blasted with lady Gaga whilst eating.
Great food and service! Music was quite load but added to the vibe of the place. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Fantastic food. I think the menu should be explained on arrival also the print on the menu should be clearer . But a great place to. Come and eat. Jordan was really helpful. Staff are friendly.
Great food . Excellent service .really cool vibe. Would definitely recommend it for a great dining experience.
We went for the Saturday brunch and the food was good but the cocktails barely had any alcohol in. We had 6 cocktails each as part of the unlimited offer and we weren’t even tipsy. They come in very small glasses and taste nothing like the cocktails should taste like. The service is also strange too, wasn’t a great experience. I think they should stick to the standard menu as the brunch offer is very very poor
Right from the start the whole experience was amazing! The food was fabulous and you couldn’t get enough of it. Definitely coming back again in the near future.
Flatiron > Temper > McDonalds > Blacklock
Firstly the service was excellent! General manager was a delight and that attitude was emulated in the rest of the staff. Food was sublime, particularly the pork rib! Great night.
Loved the vibe, the service was super fast and staff really lovely + friendly. Food was delicious, only thing the cocktails could be slightly better - sharper flavours would be good coming through those margaritas!
Too noisy, and one dish ordered didn't make it into the system and had to be ordered again. Though it cam very quickly when we did that. But fabulous food!
Great experience - great staff also
Me and my husband booked a table at temper soho for our 1st wedding anniversary as we were visiting London. We were both really looking forward to it.........unfortunately we were both extremely disappointed.
Every plate of food that we had ordered was full of salt, to the point where all we could really taste was salt. When the waiter asked how our food was and I mentioned how salty everything was he replied, 'The chefs use salt to season everything. That's just how they do it'.
So not only was the food disappointing, we paid a hefty price too. All in all we didn't have a good experience at temper soho and would not recommend anyone or visit again.
Our 1st wedding anniversary was left with a salty taste after this experience
Absolutely delicious food, cant wait to come back again soon.
Sadly the food was a little dissapointing as we had heard good things. The 700g Steak was very small and the food all merged into one. Lovely Service though
Outstanding service, the chef Irish was particularly great
Waiter spilled a cocktail over wife’s silk dress. Not a great start. Other than that, staff professional and cocktails excellent - prices not too outrageous for West End.
We had the sharing Lamb, and it was amazing.
All of the staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very welcoming
We went to temper for a Sunday Roast and I’d definitely return! Great value for money and a really decent sized portion - super tasty too!
The experience was as always something to talk about the chefs are really friendly and sitting near the fire was one of the best decisions of the night together with the Rumanian wine.
Everything was absolutely perfect, we had a great time. Food, drink and setting is brilliant. We have been a few times and it never fails to impress.
The only thing that was a real shame was the horrible countdown we kept getting because they wanted our table back 1 hr 45 mins into our booking. We had our waiter and then a manager come over every 5 minutes, 30 minutes before then end. That's 6 times! They were very polite but the frequency started to spoil the end of our evening feeling rushed unnecessarily.
We were already aware of this and fine about it giving our table back. But firstly it was strange they wanted to uphold this because the restaurant had so many empty tables around, including two other empty tables of 4 right next to us, and so much space at the bar, we couldn't see any people arriving for the next sitting, nor did we encounter any entering the restaurant as we waited in the lobby for one of our party to use the toilet. We also spent a lot of money and would have appreciated a little more leniency finishing our final cocktails that the waiter had actually forgot to put through so they arrived with only 5 minutes for us to drink them.
We understand the table time limit, but we as a group always spent good money and usually find with restaurants they are a little relaxed with giving a little more time or even letting us stay to order more.
This was not the case. So perhaps don't book at Temper if you're looking for a long and relaxed meal. I would still recommend it however as it's a fantastic place.
The seating concept (grill bar) is completely inappropriate for the big sharing platter style menu.
Also, at no point during the booking process was a choice of seating provided. One assumed we’d be seated at a table by default and were disappointed to be sat at a bar in front of a flaming grill (far too hot and narrow for comfort).
The staff were reluctant to seat us more suitably; however, when later a white (which we were not) couple displayed their disapproval of the seating being suggested, they were swiftly accommodated at a table. Needless to say we were not!
Great venue we have been there a few times. We love eating at the pit. As always the vibrant head chef said hi and asked how the food was.
This visit was slightly marked down because after only having been seated for 1 hour and 15 minutes, the young waitress was asked by her manager to hurry us out and pay the bill. It was 5pm and we were going to the theatre anyway. Unfair on her and rude by the manager
Not typical and we will be back
Amazing food, Staff friendly. I really nice night out
Excellent food, very speedy service - too speedy if anything, would have preferred to take our time! But very delicious and cool atmosphere
An absolutely fantastic vibe, I was lucky to sit at the bar and watched the guys cook over the fire pit. I was mesmerised but the steak is the best I've ever had. You must go!
Food was good - one steak was sold out
Service was very slow - had to ask a waiter who was sitting down clearing a table to take our order
Table wasn’t ready when we arrived - had to wait 10 minutes and we were 5 minutes later
Good vibes but small portions at high prices! Tasty food but you need to order a lot of plates to fill up.
Date night with my partner - we had bar seating so we could see all the food being cooked. Really good food recommendations from the servers and great ambience! So nice to be back out dining again!
Welcome was warm and inviting.
Food was excellent.
Service on point…never waiting for anything..
Just a little out of pocket…but could not really fault anything for my first experience.
Warning…if sitting by the counter think about layers of clothing…can get hot.
Amazing food. Tried many of the small plates as recommended by Jordan our waiter and finished with 2 steaks cuts shared between 5 of us. Everything was delicious. Good service as well and good value for money in central SOHO
Really fantastic restaurant. We had a brilliant meal here before watching a show. Great location. Attentive staff. Tasty food. Really recommend
Fabulous as usual. Staff exemplary from front to back and what a wonderful menu to boot. My favourite restaurant in London by some distance.
Whole leg of lamb for between 4-6 to share . You cannot go wrong .
Bit too loud for my tastes, and took a good 25 minutes before we were able to order drinks, despite staff constantly walking past. Shame because really loved the food!
Love this restaurant, 3rd time I’ve been went for my partner’s birthday. Didn’t get the birthday dessert but they were really busy. Other than that good is amazing
A great restaurant with great ambiance. The food was amazing and the service was very good. The only issue was that we felt rushed and the slot was not long enough to have the 3 courses. Overall a very good experience
Love the concept, lunch menu is quite limited compared to the evening, think 4 cassava chips for £6 is a tad expensive! Great to watch the chef and his team though, but be warned it gets hot 🥵
