temper is a unique barbecue, steak and open fire pit restaurant where we cook everything in front of your eyes using only wood and charcoal in huge 4.5m long fire pit in the middle of the room.
We only use the best produce available and source our meat from local farms and butcher it all ourselves in house.
We serve our meats alongside tacos, parathas, made in house and mezcal cocktails.
Each week we have our Sunday Roast that is perfect for a table of 2 or 10 with it's sharing style platter.
Goat Cheese Taco
Aged Beef Nachos

Fantastic service, fantastic food, but music a little loud
Great food and vibes. Wine selection worth exploring too.
Worst roast I’ve had in London - cold food, ordered sharing roast for 4 and enough for barely 2 arrived….terrible service. Waited 2hr for our food
Food and presentation is great. Good portions.
Service, I assume I was not lucky, had to ask 3 times to assist me to charge my phone ( had charger with me). Was told not possible by 3 people, finally a I asked a helpful bartender and waitress who assisted me. Place was not packed so was no issue not to help, and while you would not expect to recharge your phone at a fast food joint, maybe in an upscale establishment you would expect more assistance.
Music needs turning down a couple of notches. When you're underneath a speaker it's pretty loud.
Really great place. Food, service and atmosphere is amazing. If you’re around Soho area you must get a steak at this restaurant 👌🏻
Busy. Good was very good. They had run out of two of the main courses, which I thought was unusual on a Saturday night.
Service is normally a lot better with attention to detail. Plates weren’t changed between courses, cutlery was missing with dishes, drinks order were slower & not as good as normal. But maybe they were overwhelmed by the weekend.
I love the Temper Soho. It is a great space, good vibe, excellent food. Normally one of my favourites, still is. Definitely highly recommended.
The food was delicious as were the cocktails, and the atmosphere was great, but the service was atrocious. Our small plates came out one after another within the space of about 5 minutes, meaning we finished eating in about half an hour. The waitresses were practically throwing the food down on the table and then running off. We had to literally get up and search for someone to take a drinks order as they’d bizzarely just run off after leaving food. None of the empty glasses and dishes were cleared, so after we finished eating we were sat with dirty plates covering the table for at least half an hour. Then, just as we finally got someone to clear the plates - the sides turned up! So half an hour after we finished our mains, we were expected to be ready for a bowl of cabbage. The restaurant was busy but there seemed to be lots of staff, and there was no apology for the erratic service whatsoever. A shame - I’ve been to the Covent Garden and City branches before and the experience was good but this has hugely put me off returning to any of the Temper restaurants.
Good food, nice vibes we love it!!! All the staff super friendly
Really disappointing food and service.
Famous cheeseburger tacos were bland, unsalted and quite frankly uninteresting.
The guacamole was uninspiring, the brisket was cold and desperately needed a sauce to lift it, the chicken came with the same bread as the brisket as well as a rather large chicken joint bone. Again needed a sauce.
Sea bass was pretty good but couldn’t taste the Gochujang butter at all.
Service was hit and miss, first waitress kept asking us to order food quickly, even though I’d asked her twice how many of each section to order, without a reply. Had to find another waitress to explain the menu.
No one asked how the food was until I asked for the bill, to which I replied alright, no one took this as a sign that perhaps it wasn’t good.
Could be great but at £140 for two you only get 1 chance to impress.
Overpriced, average, would not recommend, would not return.
An excellent place to meet catch up with friends over great food and with a nice ambience.
Food was ok - not worth the price
Service was really bad - we had to wait a significant time for the food to arrive.
There was something wrong with our order which delayed it further and we received no apology
Amazing food & drinks. Service not as great, but okey
Great food and service, but we arrived at 7 and at 7:40 we were told our table time was nearly up!!! We've never felt so rushed. We didn't have time to order dessert or more drinks.
It look us longer to get home and back than the time we spent at the restaurant.
Great food & service!
Amazing food, delicious cocktails, great service - one of my favourite restaurants in London
The food itself was fantastic but the service let the whole visit down. An hour and a quarter after we arrived and we’d had one drink and a tiny spicy corn snack after being largely ignored, then no apology for how hideously long it had taken for our two meals. A real shame.
Went for the ‘famous’ roast. Very underwhelmed, potatoes were tiny, carrots overcooked almost burnt and the meat was thin, very fatty and also overcooked. Saw the joint of beef on the counter which seemed perfectly cooked but we were obviously served the ends.
Waitress was friendly but service was slow, which was surprising as the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy.
Unfortunately won’t be returning.
It was nice, went for a Sunday roast and the environment and service it was nice, just too pricey for the quality of the food.
The venue itself was very nice and fitted out to a high spec, the atmosphere was great and all of the staff seemed genuinely happy to work there and were very friendly. We sat on bar stools at the bar and the kitchen was in the centre of the bar so we were able to watch our meals being prepared and cooked right in front of us which was a great experience. We went for a roast dinner and both decided to get the roast beef and it was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend for the food and the experience and service in general, outstanding! 5 stars!
The food is great. It's fun and the 'fire pit' cooking station is a really cool (well, hot) feature. Eat at the bar to get the full experience. But they let themselves down by greeting us with the message that they were busy and wanted us out in an hour to an hour and a half. The staff were actually great but clearly under pressure to get people out as quick as possible. It's a real shame and also unnecessary, the six stools at the bar remained empty for half an hour. If they didn't rush the service, it would have been five stars
Amazing food and excellent experience to be able to see it all being cooked
Great ambience and booths for privacy. Food portions were small. Great cocktails. Service was mixed but the senior staff were very approachable and charismatic
Quality of the food and drinks was outstanding ding for a bottomless brunch. The ambience is also brilliant and sets the tone of the restaurant perfectly. The only downside was the service, our waitress basically stared at us the entire time we were there which was a bit strange. We also had 4/7 rounds of drinks come up wrong which was slightly disappointing. All in all though would 100% go back
The food and cocktails were amazing. Staff were friendly also.
Incredible spot, so buzzy and the food from start to finish is impeccable
Food was lovely, drinks were lovely and service was excellent!
Only small let down was the seating. Was a touch uncomfortable but bearable. Other than that we had an excellent evening.
Steak was amazing, cheeseburger tacos were so good. Flavours are very rich and intense for the dishes we ordered, overall good.
Service was good but was rushed out (didn’t see this happen to any other tables) and was also put right at the back of the restaurant missing the open kitchen action (could’ve been a coincidence but 💁🏻♀️)
Would visit again but only for the steak and to sit next to the open kitchen.
Sat at the bar - squished in like sardines. Otherwise, great food.
Very lovely, would highly recommend. Food drink and service was second to none. The staff understood the food, wine and just when to give us advice on what to order. Will definitely be going again.
If was super nice. The staff was kind and helpful!! And the food is amazing
We went for a roast on a Sunday afternoon. Had tacos to start which were delicious, however the roast came out literally seconds after our plates were cleared, with no time to order wine for our mains. The roasts very much tasted like it had been reheated and wasn’t even very warm. Sadly just nothing very special. The bill was also bought to us without us being offered desserts which was a shame. Tacos and margaritas great, the rest distinctly average.
Last minute Sunday lunch booking as follow up to last minute theatre booking, stuck a pin in the League Of Roasts top 30 and then picked the one nearest. My beef was perfectly cooked and my wife's pork (Ooh, mind yourself!) was gorgeously melty (we declared it a draw). Mr Roast Dinners review tells of how he was disappointed by an absence of roasties, but I am pleased to report that they were plentiful and exquisite on our visit.
If I might make one teeny tiny suggestion? I love a parsnip as much as the next man, if not more so. I am however not /entirely/ convinced that parsnip puree is giving this prince of vegetables the level of respect it rightly reserves. Old-school-honey roast 'em, chuck 'em in the fire pit for a bit to add a little bit of a char on 'em, you're welcome.
Really enjoyed my visit to temper soho, I googled where to get a great roast in london and this place did not disappoint. Very trendy, great staff, not your average roast, it had a slight twist but that’s what you want from a place like this. Price was very reasonable of course above average but this is not your £9.99 eat as much as you like buffet. Totally recommend
Great food but service was really poor and chaotic. Nobody seemed to be in charge overall and there was no one waiter assigned to us. Drinks came long after food, we were forgotten for long periods of time, and had to chase up every order. It was a special occasion and it put a dampener on the whole evening.
Really nice atmosphere, but fairly overpriced. The plates I had were heavily under seasoned and for the money/reputation I expected a LOT better.
Service was excellent and food unbelievable. Would 100% go again
Dined with my 8 year old son at the counter, he loved the food and drinks and the experience sitting up at the counter, he loved the aged beef nachos and the non alcoholic cocktails, staff very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious, drinks just a little slow but otherwise a very pleasant meal
The food was great but the music SO loud and service sporadic
The table was ready on time, even though they were busy and the booths were very comfortable. The dishes were shared and each dish was wonderful. Service was quick and the staff all very friendly. We have been waiting some time to go here and can’t wait to return.
