The staff were exceptionally friendly welcoming, The food was OK but I have had better Teppanyaki cooking. The major disappointments were the dull atmosphere, we faced a bland wall, and the lack of theatre in the cooking process which is the fun in a Teppanyaki restaurant.
The evening was perfect. Were greeted by the manager who was very welcoming and polite. He made sure we had a good night and was friendly to talk to. It was true authentic teppanyaki experience. The chef was very skilled but wasn't full of gimmicks just a quality cooked meal that tasted exquisite. The whole staff were very friendly and I am making sure this is my go to place every time we visit Manchester. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary teppanyaki Chinatown!
Lovely little Restaurant in Chinatown, food was outstanding and wine list, while not very big, was good value. Staff very friendly. Would recommend.
Friendly staff, exquisite food, good value for money and excellent service. I would definately come again and recommended to anyone else.
Birthday treat and never disappointed-fabulous dining spectacle with the tastiest food delights
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Would not go as a couple as have to share tables but great for a group
Found this little gem on maps while visiting Manchester. Excellent food and service! Will definitely return when I'm back.
Very good service and food.
Pretty little place with lots of professionalism.
Good drinks nd chef cooking away in front is amazing experience.
Food and service were good, nice clean restaurant. Midweek dinner so the restaurant was quiet which was good because it was a business dinner.
Nice place, amazing food. Just remember there are 6 seats at the table and if you want a nice and quiet meal with your other half... That depends on the other 4 people sat woth you
Great place for group dining - chef was entertaining and food ws delicious.
Lovely meal with fantastic service. Would recommend.
Would definitely recommend coming going as I will mostly will be going back soon
A very enjoyable evening for New Year. Great food and attentive service. If you're looking for tricks and theatre, this isn't for you. If you are looking for great fresh ingredients cooked to perfection in front of you, you can't go wrong
The food are delicious
Had to ask for the background music to be turned down on FOUR occasions.
Waiting on staff needed calling over despite it not being very busy.
We chose it as a treat for friends visiting from Hong Kong- somewhat disappointed.
Eat here for the first time on 6th December 2016, and will definitely be back again and I have recommended Tappanyaki Chinatown Manchester to others. Food and service could not be faulted had a lovely evening. Thank you.
Teppanyaki Chinatown was brilliant, it topped off a perfect day, we had the scallops and lobster and for my first time trying them they where awesome, we was created with warmth i have already recommended it to a lot of my friends
Brilliant service! Brilliant Food! And not too expensive
Teppanyaki is something I have never experienced before, yet always wanted to try. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by Edward; the owner and quite possibly the best front of house waiter I've ever seen (coming from someone who has worked in restaurants for 7 years and prides themselves on customer service, he was exemplary). We were seated on comfy sofas by the bar and talked through the menu by Edward, who gave us ample time to browse before taking our order and showing us to our table. Me and my girlfrined both went for experience menu options- which work the same as a set menu.
Miso soup to start for both of us followed by sushi, which were both incredibly presented with a taste to match. Then our chef for the evening came over to cook our main courses in front of us. I had lobster and scallops while my girlfriend chose chicken teriyaki. The dishes were cooked from start to finish I front of us, using fresh ingredients and expert ability. Our chef even asked us what rice we wanted (egg fried with garlic) and went about cooking garlic and eggs to add to our rice. This is easily the best rice I've eaten, which sounds crazy but honestly there was a difference! He then served our food and left us to it, he's obviously seen how people react before like he knew he'd cooked everything to perfection... Because he did! For desert we both had green tea ice cream which was an ideal palette cleanser. Total bil for 3 courses including 2 beers, 2 soft drinks and 2 glasses of wine for 2 people was £68: £34 each which is great value for money if you ask me. This place was perfect for special occasions, but they also boast and very cheap lunch menu which we will have to try very soon. Fantastic work guys you really made this occasion special!
