Savour lunch from our new al fresco dining menu or take afternoon tea on the terrace (available 12pm - 4pm daily), overlooking the lake in the hotel garden.
Located in Solihull town centre, just off the M42 motorway, yet lies in quiet, picturesque grounds. You can park the car complimentary in the large car park. Touchwood shopping centre is over the road, for a spot of pre-dining shopping and it's a 10 minute walk from Solihull train station.

Multiple dates availableAfternoon tea, that most quintessential of English customs, can be enjoyed in our Terrace restaurant or on our lakeside outdoor terrace. Delicate finger sandwiches, accompanied with a selection of delicious cakes and warm fruit scones (with strawberry jam and clotted cream) all served with a pot of tea or coffee of your choice. Available daily and served between 12pm and 4pm. (Booking is advised. We are able to take walk-in bookings, however a 30 minute preparation time will apply.)

The service was extremely slow and we felt we were a nuisance being in their Resturant. Waited over 25 minutes for a menu despite we were one of only 5 tables occupied.

This was our first visit to Crowne Plaza in Solihull and were impressed. The afternoon tea was very good and would recommend it to anyone who wanted something a little special or just something good.
Food Great - Due to Covid Table service only this was slow only 2 girls on who were busy,

Picked set menu, which consisted of selected items from the full menu. This made it very good value. However, we found the meals themselves were a bit bland.
Service was good to start with, but became very slow towards the end. So much so, that, despite trying to order, we left without desert and coffee.
Would still recommend when staying at the wonderful hotel, but with the above caution.

First impressions were positive and we were greeted by very friendly reception staff. We arrived on a day full of showers and sunshine and were having to dine alfresco due to COVID regulations. The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful in seating us under a parasol, providing blankets etc. There were occasions when they endured pouring rain to serve us, but it was always with a smile. The food was very good and the outlook was pretty and quiet, overlooking a pond area. I would highly recommend here if you want good food, exceptional, friendly service and an escape from the busier central Solihull venues.

Had a lovely afternoon tea on the terrace. Food was very good quality, very impressed for the price. Service was excellent and we were lucky enough to be able to move to a covered table when the rain set in. I will certainly be back.
Initial service great, served drinks quickly but then felt a bit forgotten. And couldn’t catch staff members eye. Weren’t offered food menus, had to ask an hour after we arrived. So then ate much later than we would have liked. Food was good and generous portions. Just little tweaks in service (like more regular checks on guests) and would give 5*.

It is very quiet cosy place to have a snack during the day in a company of friends or colleagues. Service is excellent, food is ok. Free parking is a bonus.

It is a lovely terrace, the staff were lovely. We had hoped there would be cocktails available but staff explained there were limited spirits available to make them. I ordered vegetarian pizza which looked lovely on the menu but in reality was quite poor. It felt like a shop bought base with cheese that was properly melted so for the price i was disappointed, however, my friend's club sandwich looked nice. I was tempted with the afternoon tea and wish I had gone for this option as it looked lovely when other diners ordered it.
It was a "horrible" experience. Extremely rude staff and terrible service. We are trying to reach the managers for an official complaint to make sure nobody will have this experience ever again. There was a negative review and I regret not reading it before going to this place.
I made a reservation for my birthday lunch with my mother and 5 month baby.

We came to the terrace for afternoon tea. Luckily the weather was lovely as we sat outside. The staff were all very polite and attentive, the service was really good and fast as well. Will definitely like to return in the future.

This is a beautiful setting with lots of potential. I would be happy to return once the full menu is back up and running and I was a little disappointed that this wasn’t mentioned as I had checked the menu online and I was impressed at the extensive range but then the menu on the day was scaled back. The drinks were good and the food was tasty but it took a long time in coming out (almost an hour) and when it did come we had japelenos on the nachos which we had specifically asked to be removed. The sitting was for an hour and a half only and we had a booking afterwards for drinks at another place so there was not enough time it try dessert. After mentioning this issue with the food we were given a great discount. I am hoping the full menu will return soon and once the restaurant has had a full month to get back into it I’m sure the service will be great.

I booked CP (afternoon tea) with my daughters. I arrived at the Crowne Plaza and was looked at distastefully. We were seated and staff brought everything out separately so it took a while.Before,I had even bit into a tiny,crustless sandwich,the waitress threw the bill on the table and literally 2 minutes later brought a card machine out. I asked why she had singled out my table when everyone else had paid for their bill after the meal.I observed 2 tables ask for the bill when their meal had evidently ended and had to wait for the bill and then again to pay. I asked the waitress why we had to pay before the meal,she replied ‘it’s new policy’ I stated ‘oh sorry do we not fit your usual clientele’ I truly believe it was because I have black Caribbean daughters who were dressed very casually.
I asked at the desk for a complaint form and was told ‘you can talk to me’ I told her about the discrimination experienced,she refused to give me a complaint form or any details of their complaint procedure.I experience which felt very pretty woman esque ,you know the one scene I’m talking about? Where the sales assistants refuse to serve Vivian due to appearance.
The woman at the desk said they’d requested payment because of covid! I said I wasn’t happy.The staff said it was nothing to do with race and attempted to support this by pointing at “Gary” As if they challenged my complaint because of “Gary” a token black person for the hotel.
I spoke to Gary who said it was policy to ask for payment before a meal.I asked if that was the case why had no one else been asked prior to the meal and he agreed they hadn’t and it was a mistake.I asked a remaining table if they’d paid as they were there long before I got there and had alcohol.I witnessed the other tables ask for payment after meals.Gary said he’d look at my bill as if I was complaining to get 50p knocked off the bill. Gary was reluctant to give me the information but eventually did.

We like to dine here from time to time as we had our wedding and reception at Crowne Plaza in 2017 which was amazing. However, it was a very quiet atmosphere for a Friday evening, with only another couple or two in there at the same time. The service, however, was exceptional as was the high quality of the food served.
Whilst the menu is more limited than our last visit, that is totally understandable in these challenging times. However, there was still a good choice. We felt safe, could hear each other, and had a lovely evening.
Fantastic service staff very friendly. Food amazing steaks were cooked perfect and cheesecake was amazing. Lovely atmosphere for a birthday treat. I will definitely return !
