Taka and Khin, restaurant owners moved to Buffalo in 2012 with the dream of giving exemplary care to customers, making them feel at home and cooking them delicious, healthy food at affordable prices. At Teton Kitchen, our philosophy is to treat our customers like our family.
Chef & owner Taka who’s originally born in Japan knows how to take care of Japanese and Thai cuisine with over 10 years of experience. He worked in Izuei Kabayaki restaurant in Nagata Cho, Tokyo, Japan for 7 years and was a sushi chef in the States for almost 4 years before opening Teton Kitchen in 2013. We have Japanese traditional sake and kind of soju drinks.
Decent authentic Japanese food, though for instance the curry rice was more Thai than Japanese - katsu plus a coconut curry. The sushi portions were generous and the fish was fresh. An extensive Japanese sake, and whiskey selection.
This place is shameful for the way the treat their customers. Forget anything coming out together, or hot. Appetizers for two had to be eaten separately. Did not get the plates for them either till later. Main meal of sushi, they forgot an order and tried to charge us for alcohol never ordered.
Water? What water? Asked for four times, only received once. Our table had only napkins and silverware. We had to steal off another table chopsticks, and soy sauce dishes.
Only two waitresses, one who only brought food out. This is for the entire place. Meanwhile you can hear then yelling at the kitchen. As per the taste... average, nothing special. The place was half full.
Not going back,
Food was incredible but they’d way over booked and could not even check people in, let alone seat them. A lot of folks walked out rather than wait, we stuck it out and really enjoyed the food when it eventually came. This was on Valentines night, not sure if the same problems occur on regular nights.
Ruined our date. Hour and a half couldn’t even get water to the table. What a joke.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and beverage! The Japanese Plum Wine was super delicious!
Some food choices were better than others. Menu has clever names for the rolls. Service was good until we waited 15 min for our check.
The food was poor quality and despite being the only table there, the staff was absent.
It took a long time to even order a drink. One of them was wrong too. Food was just okay.
We sat on the patio to enjoy the weather but the music played over their outdoor speaker was an awful loop of pop music. We heard one of the songs 6 times in our hour spent there. We had no complaints about the food or waitstaff...
Sushi is okay - not best I’ve had, lackluster attention to detail would be what brings it down. Thai food was very good, great spice
My boyfriend and I made a reservation but were sat immediately on the patio because it wasn’t too crowded. The service was amazing, very attentive. We were checked on roughly 4 times since I’m such a slow eater they wanted to make sure we were enjoying everything.
We had a lovely time. The service was a bit slow because they seemed short staffed. The patio was beautiful and they were so accommodating to set up a table with a perfectly placed umbrella so we had shade. I would absolutely go back!
Servers kept telling us how busy they were but the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. Nigiri tasted like it was defrosted. Sushi rolls were fine. Maybe this restaurant is best for cooked options. Could have gone to Wegmans to get better quality sushi and better service.
Celebrated mother's day and my husband's birthday, wonderful and friendly service with delicious food, will definitely be back!
The staff was very attentive and the sushi rolls were beautifully presented and great flavor. I highly recommend giving Teton a try.
This was our first visit and unfortunately will also be our last.
We waited over 40 minutes after ordering and still had no food so had to inquire.
Then the courses came fast and furious and out of order.
Multiple courses served at the same time...our biggest pet peeve when dining.
We got charged for a drink we never had so that needed to be resolved and then had to ask for a customer copy of our credit card bill as it was never supplied.
They were extremely under staffed and disorganized.
The food quality was good but not enough to bring us back.
It was extremely loud and really no ambiance to speak of.
Service was very poor though after our difficulties they did take 10% off of the bill.
It was not a pleasant dining experience for us.
Sorry for inconvenience . Hopefully , you will know that that week was restaurant week, that's why we were under stuff. Sorry for inconvenience again
The food was amazing, although it came out of order and all plates for everyone at our table did not come at the same time. It was so loud, it was hard to talk, but overall we had a great time and will try it again.
Thank you so much for you review Sir.We will give you best service when you are coming next time.
Dirty utensils, dirty table, slow service, wrong food. Awful background music
Wish I could give this a 0 out of 5
Great food, perfect evening out with friends and family. Highly recommended!
We waited well over an hour for our appetizers and then another half hour for our entrees. Food was delicious but could have been sever slightly faster.
Great space with a lot of potential and unique dishes. My wife and I had the dry udon, beef rib special, and a spicy tuna roll. A little disappointed that a Japanese restaurant doesn't have ramen or an udon noodle soup on the menu. Service was good and the food was tasty.
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Just a tad loud with the music coming from all the speakers and tough to hear. Other than that, very nice.
Great addition to Allentown. Diverse menu, but not overwhelming. Great service, food and specials. Definitely will be coming back.
Excellent service, delicious food (husband had Yakisoba with chicken, I had mixed green salad & glass noodles with tofu & vegetables). Highly recommend this restaurant!
