TGI FRIDAYS - Albany
Great food , I had a great waiter forgot his name though . I will be coming back with my friends more often
I was not pleased when we requested a certain spot and were denied because the server of that section didn’t want additional tables. But I would rather have good service than a good seat so I didn’t mind sitting in another area of sitting where I wanted would have lead me to receive poor service.
The food was good
Excellent food at a reasonable price
Ordered a simple burger with fries and a grilled chicken salad. The burger was the size of a half dollar and it literally came with 10 fries. The salad was lettuce, 4 croutons and a piece of chicken that would feed a toddler. Wine was $10 a glass....way over priced. Had to order wings cause hubby was still hungry. $12.99 for 10 wings that were the size of my thumb. Will not be back anytime soon.
We had a reservation for 6:30. There was a table for 6 people open for 10-15 min but we could not be seated. We were told that each server could only have 4 tables at one time. So even though there were plenty of open tables we had to wait??? Waiter didn't listen to what we said. We placed an order to go. He brought it BEFORE all the other meals and on a plate. My sliders came way before anyone else's meal. Sliders came with no fries. I informed that waiter that they came with fries and he said they did not. I asked to see the menu - whereupon I showed him on the menu that it says that they actually do. Had to wait at least 10-15 minutes more for my fries. One person asked that her bill be separate and he had the entire table on one bill. Had to ask again that he separate it. For all the aggravation, we should have had our meals for free. The drink and food were good. Too bad the service and seating policy were terrible.
So bad. So bad. So bad.
Horribly slow service. Terrible communication skills. Ribs literally couldn’t be cut off the bone they were so over cooked.
The waiter seemed like he didn't even care to be there.
He never checked on us to see how things were, just sort of wandered around.
The food took a VERY long time to come to the table. (It was not that busy when we ordered at 5:00ish)
The Caesar Salad was smothered in dressing and had a hair in it.
We requested very light buffalo sauce on boneless wings and they came extra saucy.
The Potato Skins with the sampler were hard as rock on the bottom.
Was horrible wasted $80 for nothing, food was cold, waitress was missing the whole time.toke over 30 minutes just for a drink.
The food was unevenly cooked and flavorless.
By far the worst service and food we’ve had in a very long time. From the hostess to the waitress and the awful food that we received an hour later.....and only after we flagged down the waitress who had not returned to our table once since serving water and our microwaved appetizer. I guess we learned our lesson........you get what you pay for!! Avoid this dump!
We had an early reservation (4:45PM) as we had tickets to a show that evening. The restaurant was not crowded, a number of open tables. Our server was pleasant and efficient. But when the food arrived one meal was cold (steak) another was not cooked well enough (medium hamburger that was medium rare at best). Our server took each back with apologies and a promise of new meals. The manager came over as well and apologized. When the meals were returned the steak looked as if it had been microwaved, difficult to cut. And the hamburger was rare. It looked like it had been thrown on a grill for only a few minutes. As we needed to leave we asked for the check. Again, our server was good. She acted professional and apologized a number of times. But there was obviously an issue in the kitchen as the 2 orders were of poor quality and it happened twice.
There were only two or three other tables with people where we were seated on Thurs at 4:45pm yet the service was not very good at all. It was the emptiest I've ever seen TGI Fridays. The waitress seemed a little scattered and not completely focused. She borrowed my pen bc hers was not working to take our order. She was friendly enough but not attentive enough. We had to ask for things multiple times. She brought our drinks, didn't offer water, but took ten minutes to bring straws even after we had to ask for them. Same with water. No refills offered on our drinks. Oh well she did ask if my friend wanted another beer. All our food didn't come out at the same time. My friend's onion rings came out 10min later and another waiter brought it out and offered to wrong table a couple places ahead of us. No other tables were occupied yet after they told her it wasn't theirs, instead of bringing to our table she started walking back to kitchen. I had to shout to get her attention for her to bring to us. So ridiculous. The nachos we ordered (without chicken) had watery queso on it instead of shreaded cheese which I thought was standard for nachos. They also salted the chips. It was almost inedible which was unfortunate bc it was the only thing remotely vegetarian my friend could have. Go someplace else. This used to be a good place to eat (last time I was here was 3 yrs ago since I no longer live in Albany) but I am never going back there to eat again. We still tipped 15% but it was worth maybe a dollar tip if that.
Food was fine nothing special. Had a chicken salad with sparse candied walnuts.
If I could give negative stars I would. Cold food. Poor service.
Usually have a good experience here but not this time. Service was the worst! The tables around us were complaining as well. Not anxious to go back.
Rip-off alert! I used my 150 rewards points to order the ribeye however the computer took off my daughter's half rack of ribs instead. Its $22 compared to $13!!!! She could have had a full rack instead! The meals for using 108 points are even more money than those ribs! No where is it stated that a half rack counts the same as a full rack when you use your reward points.
We went to Fridays for my daughter's 14th birthday. As we waited for our table we heard some of the staff singing Happy Birthday so I asked about it for my daughter. I was told we just had to tell our server. Before ending our meal I secretly told the waitress it was my daughter's birthday. About 10 mins later another waitor comes with a dish of ice cream asking if someone ordered it. Of course, because it was supposed to be a surprise & I was expecting them to sing to her I played dumb & she had no idea. The waitor left confused but unfortunately, soon returned asking if someone had a birthday & simply gave her the ice cream. I was extremely disappointed & so was my daughter! Afterwards I was told by our waitress that they no longer are allowed to sing which made me angry since there was singing when we came in & since I whispered my request to my server she should have told me that from the beginning! Sadly the manager confirmed Friday's was bought out by another company that doesn't allow singing BUT if the server chooses to do it they can. Unfortunately for my daughter we ended up with a dud waitress who doesn't like to sing to her customers so she sticks to the policy (I'm sure more for lack of desire than actual policy). Interestingly enough we heard other tables being sung to 2x before leaving that night. I had a problem with the waitress from the beginning but didn't say anything so as not to ruin my daughter's day, but ultimately I felt like my daughter's birthday dinner was ruined anyway by a cold waitress & a wishy washy "sing if u want to" policy! Not sure I'll go back.
Unfortunately, after booking this reservation several hours in advance for my nephew's birthday dinner, we were turned away at the door by a rude hostesses/ manager who informed us that they do not take reservations and if we wanted to eat there the wait was over forty five minutes.
We visited our local Fridays today after making a reservation earlier today on Open Table. Both hostesses clearly and unapologetically informed USD that "we don't take reservations" and when shown the email confirmation in my phone one quite rudely stated lIke don't even know what Open Table is" and repeated that we did not have reservations because they don't take them. I'll be happy to send our confirmation and verify that the location is in Albany NY.
If indeed you do not use Open Table then I believe you need to modify this with Open Table.
As well, I believe your Hostesses need additional customer service training.
