Thai Basil

We try to get to Thai Basil every 2nd or 3rd week.
The food is outstanding & the service is too.
I highly recommend it if your a lover of Thai food like we are

One of maybe three great Thai places in Bath. Tucked away from the crowd and a classic menu

Waited an hour for starters and when they arrived they were wrong. Complained and they were corrected after half an hour. Waited another hour for main course which was poor. Fish was supposed to be crispy. It was soggy. Couldn’t wait to get out Place was so noisy other tables around us were just as fed up. Would never go to this place again. Terrible!!!

Maybe been here five times which should give you an idea.

Food wasn’t very appetising. The downstairs toilet floor was badly flooded but left open for anyone to use without mopping it up. Saw into the kitchen whilst downstairs and felt ill. Won’t ever go there again and have advised friends to avoid.

Sadly one of our favourite places has really gone down hill. We were pretty well the only people eating there at 9pm on a Friday , and the food was really disappointing. Such a pity, but will not be returning.

Very welcoming, excellent service, food served at comfortable intervals. Good advice on food selection which was of excellent quality at a reasonable price.

Worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten. Coconut rice was more like a dessert laden with sugar. Awful main course with little flavour. Grumpy staff. I don’t recommend and will never visit again.

Food was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed a pleasant evening meal on Saturday with my wife. We had the mid price set menu, which was very tasty with multiple courses and generous portions. Reasonably priced wine. Service was extremely polite and very efficient. Much of the clientele was SE Asian - which I consider a good sign! ...and this helped to add to the international ambience of an evening in cosmopolitan Bath.

I love going to this place. It's my favourite Thai in Bath. Was a super busy Saturday night so service was a little slow but the food is always tasty

Amazing food, best Thai we have ever been to. Been once before and was even better the second time.

Excellent dishes, the steamed fish fillets were knockout and the green papaya salad was a difinite highlight. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be back.

Been here for the excellent value lunch but dined in the evening this time. Excellent again, this place never disappoints.

Food was certainly not fresh, I would hazard a guess that some had been warmed up as the meat was very chewy and had little flavour. We were only 2 of 6 people on that night and the atmosphere was non existent, not a great night. We were staying the night in Bath and for all the restaurants in Bath I think we picked the wrong one. Sorry Thai Basil.

I love this place. The food is fantastic and they area so welcoming. Worth making a trip to Bath just for them.

Food was good although very heavy. Waiting stuff was okay, but got the order wrong and tried to blame it on us, although we ordered using the numbers on the menu to avoid confusion. Wasn't very nice after as well. Wouldn't go back as it's an average restaurant.

Awful. The worst food I have ever eaten by miles. Having been to many Thai restaurants and to the country itself I was expecting much better. Avoid at all costs. Literally.

Decent thai food sweetened a bit for the western palate, we liked that becuase our daughter can't handle spice at all. This was a good balance where we still thought food was authentic enough while she could also enjoy.

The food was very authentic as it was our first time at a Thai restaurant. The green curry was impeccable and all of the starters we had ordered were delicious. Would recommend.

Have been to plenty of Thai restaurants but was particularly impressed. The food was very tasty and reminiscent of being in Thailand. The service was very friendly and attentive. All round great evening. Thank you.

Very good meal with a wide choice of dishes, staff were attentive and helpful.

Did not have much time as it was a pre theatre meal. I hope to spend longer next time. The green curry is to die for

My son and I were looking for a nice Thia restaurant and Thai Basil was just perfect. My son asked if he could have traditional soup with noodles. The waiter said that they would make it for him even though it wasn't on the menu - now that's service! The food was delicious with perfect Thai flavors. A lovely evening!

I feel the experience was excellent and the food was amazing.

Had an enjoyable meal from the set menu. All of the dishes were delicious and there was food left over. Service friendly and attentive.
The atmosphere score marked down purely because we ate at a time when the restaurant was quiet.

We enjoyed our food at this restaurant, there is a good choice on the menu and not over priced.

Best, most authentic Thai I have had in England, including London. Sauces were wonderfully and authentically spiced to perfection. Further, I was very impressed when the staff kindly, but firmly stepped up to insist that a family take responsibility to manage children which they were allowing to noisily run about as they ate their meal.

Went here whilst in a weekend break in Bath with friends. The food was delicious and very tasty. Some of the dishes were quite spicy as well as tasty. Service was fine, not in your face but respectfully discreet and polite. Didn’t have to wait long for the food. Would definitely go again.

Excellent Thai restaurant with good set menus as well as individual dish options. Can not fault the food and service was quite attentive would certainly recommend and return.
