First visit to this local casual restaurant .. first class service and great food. Will definitely be returning!
Great evening meeting friends at Thali Ho. The food was lovely, we all went for the Thali option and was not disappointed at all. Highly recommended!
First visit and we were really impressed. Food was lovely, staff very attentive and helpful and a nice atmosphere, will definitely be back!
We had a family dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was delicious! Our young daughters were very well catered for and the staff were delightful and helpful.
Good atmosphere, wide choice of excellently prepared curries at reasonable prices. Service efficient and staff very friendly. Thoroughly recommended. Have been several times, always pleased with food, service and the price.
Fabulous place, great service and AMAZING food. I would highly recomm nd the thali platter meals, you get a little bit of everything to try and it’s excellent value for money.
Great food and service, although had a slight cafe feel with the cutlery buckets and table numbers.
Love this restaurant. Food is absolutely brilliant, especially the Thalis!
This used to be an excellent Indian restaurant called Maya. Food was delicious then. Last summer they refurbed and rebranded. And by the look of if, changed a chef. Which is a great shame. The idea of small Indian dishes is a good one but ... it is just not tasty! Bring back the old Maya chef and the old Maya menu.
Great restaurant, great food and service but I found the chairs a bit uncomfortable hence four stars, not five.
Thali Ho is an excellent Indian Restaurant. The service is friendly and the food has that extra something. The menu is varied and has some exciting dishes that you wouldn't normally get at your standard Indian Restaurant.
My first visit and I was not disappointed. Very relaxed atmosphere and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. The food was an absolute delight, you could taste the individual fresh ingredients. Plenty of variety on the menu and generous portions.
Great food, attentive service & a cool clean restaurant
Our 3rd or 4th visit and the standard of the food remains constantly good. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
We went here for my son's 18th and the food is amanzingly good, The service was 5 stars as was the food. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and an extremely nice place to be. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough a very relaxing and pleasant place to eat. A Gem in Surbiton. They can also accomdate off menu requests as well which is amazing.
Good food and wine. Excellent service. Highly recommend. Will definitely go again.
Very tasty curry with excellent value for money, the "thali ho" mains are delicious and you get plenty of food. The staff are very pleasant and attentive to your every need, I would definitely recommend anyone who has an interest in curries no matter how you like them (spicy or mild) to go and try the food there, you will not be disappointed.
Great revamp of the restaurant. The Thali box idea is a really interesting concept and you will not leave hungry! The selection of side dishes are brilliant and add great variety to your usual favourite mains. The newly refurbished dining room is light and buzzing. Highly recommended.
Food was good - generous portions and great choice of Thalis. Nice atmosphere. Good choice for meal with friends or family. Handily situated in central Surbiton close to lots of buses and the station.
Second visit here and good to see the food and service was consistent with our first positive experience. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is good and plentiful, especially the thali and reasonably priced. Definitely a good option in Surbiton for a meal out.
Everything was going well until they took away one of our tables to accommodate other customers, the waiter gave us a small glass of cheap wine as compensation, we were unhappy so they took off the cost of one meal.
Very attentive waiters, delicious food which was served within a good time scale and very reasonably priced.
Lovely food in a lovely setting. Great service too
Over priced flavourless food.
Chicken curry only had half a breast in it.
A supermarket microwave curry had better taste and value.
My partners prawn curry was dry tasteless and maybe the worst curry i have ever tasted. Prawns were dry and not fresh.
They also charge indivdual people each for using the chutney you get with poppadoms. Madness.
Dont believe the hype.
Staff were nice though and interior is ok. Food is not the focus.
Great menu, great food, friendly staff and very reasonable.
Good food, lovely interior, and quick service. A great addition to Surbiton and would visit again!
Unlike most Indian restaurants there food is not stodgy but has clean, sharp and delicious flavours. The thali selection is the perfect portion size.
IMPORTANT - don't go if you want to have an intimate conversation. There is no music but the noise levels in the evening with everyone talking are horrendous when it gets full. Its the one thing that upsets my family and any friends that have visited for a meal.
Last time we were there, both tables either side of us were literally shouting at each other, so they could be heard. I wish the restaurant owners would invest in some acoustic baffles, just to absorb the volume a bit.
Other than I cant recommend this place highly enough. Amazing food, great service and the quality of food that you would be lucky to find in Central London.
Oh, and if you go in the evening book ahead. It gets full!
Visited Thali Ho for mothers day with the family (parents and mid-25s children) and had a very good time. The food is excellent, but what struck us was the ambience and feel of the place. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good dining experience in the greater area.
A curry restaurant with something a little different. Excellent quality food good service and a pleasant place to visit. Highly recommend it
This replaced my favourite Indian restaurant in Surbiton but I was really impressed with the food, the serviced and the whole concept of it. I will definitely be back.
First curry we had since moving back from abroad. Didn’t disappoint. Very friendly helpful staff and the food was very very tasty and well presented. Would recommend and go again! Thank you for a lovely evening!
Thali Ho has raised the bar for Indian dining in Surbiton. Real authentic Indian food, served as a platter, delicious and perfectly prepared. Brilliant concept of the Thali, makes ordering a whole lot easier. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are big. Waiting staff are friendly and helpful not like the other Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurants in the area. The people serving here actually care about their customers and it really does show. All in all a great find for us and will be returning very soon. My new favourite restaurant.
Colourful atmosphere and friendly staff. One of the few places opened for lunch on a Monday. It was very quiet though but might be due to timing. Food was tasty and had the right level of spice. Nice to have paired options and the lamb dish was tasty although the Prawns weren’t as fresh as expected and tasted as though they might have been frozen. Would come back again on a busier day to compare
Mediocre food. Slow service. Forgot a starter. Acoustics bad meaning that it is deafening when there are large happy groups in.
Went for a gear curry and was not disappointed. Apparently I need to write a minimum of 50 characters so this sentence is superfluous.
Lovely food, surroundings and atmosphere. Staff were very attentive too.
Nice new restaurant, very friendly and nice cold white wine
Very welcoming and staff were helpful with queries regarding the menu. We were a table of four and we all had a thali dish - absolutely delicious. Great decor too.
So food as good as ever, however, am rather concerned that the waitress scammed my young daughter. She ordered a bottle of J2O (sold at the usual over inflated price) unknown to me the waitress then asked her if she wanted it in a pint glass. Being a child and unwise to these tricks she simply said whatever is easiest. She was then brought a pint of J2O at a cost of in excess of 2 bottles. The waiters said she had thought she wanted a pint - really - how many 15 year old girls drink pints? This was in my view an obvious scam and the fact that it was done to a child has left a very bad taste in my mouth. They’ve lost my future custom so very short sighted.
Restaurant and food not very good. Totally over rated a real disappointment.
