Food was excellent. However while the restaurant was informed via both opentable and discreetly during dining that the meal was for a birthday celebration the servers failed to follow through with simple desert request they acknowledged would be executed which was disappointing.
Great food. Best around the area.
I got to visit a few months after retirement. Delighted to hear that Thali was recognised in London Curry Awards 2019, well deserved. Tandoori salmon was very tasty and moist. Chicken curry was perfect for my wife who prefers mildly spiced dishes. I treated myself to the lamb chops, wonderful. Peshwari nan and pilau rice were great accompaniments. Washes down with Mitchell Peppertree Shiraz. Busy restaurant and take away whizzing out the door at regular intervals. Definitely worth the visit for top quality Indian cuisine.
The food is exceptional in its freshness and simplicity (as in not fussy rather than lacking complexity of flavour). The service is excellent. There is no denying that this is not a cheap place but compared to other places of similar quality, it's probably still a deal. And it is on the edge of Chelsea after all.
Great food, very friendly, helpful and competent service.
Very friendly service. Food was really well executed and tasty. Slightly pricey for the size of portions but overall good & would definitely revisit.
If you like innovative Indian cuisine this is the restaurant for you, great food at reasonable prices and excellent service
Ate dinner with the family here recently- they were able to accommodate a table for 7. Smaller storefront restaurant but clean, simple decor. Staff was very prompt and attentive. Food came out relatively quickly and even when we ordered more food that was also brought out promptly. Curry was quite flavorful and nothing was too hot. We tried a variety of dishes and everything was excellent. Reasonably priced wine list. Overall a great meal would definitely eat here again.
Lovely service and the food was outstanding, just the right amount of food was served
One of the best Indian restaurants in that most competitive of markets, London. Highly recommended.
Food was very good and flavorful, but very small portions.
Outstanding staff! Food was great! Very accommodating!
This is a small friend restaurant with great food and service. We love the Thali dishes but also like their curries of the month. Never fails. It’s fabulous
They were closed! I went all the way from west London to eat there and I was shocked to find it closed. No information nor did they notify me. Luckily I was able to take my two guests to the nearby Indian at the end of the road.
We were on a family vacation in London and went to Thali twice: on our first night, and on our last. Excellent variety of plates on the menu, and between five of us over two nights we sampled quite a few of them. All fantastic. Service was warm, friendly, welcoming. If and when we return to London, Thali will be on the must-do list.
Nice restaurant. Wanted to try Thani in london for so long , tried veg and non veg Thali and both were nicely cooked with authentic north indian flavour. Will definitely go again.
I've now been to Thali several times and every experience has been exceptional. Great recommendations from the staff on food selection, brilliant flavors, nice setting. Not your neighborhood curry house, much better and with much more complex dishes and flavors. Recommend it highly.
Really wonderful restaurant and experience: could not have been better. Thank you
Perfect spot for a great meal. Small and excellent t
Spectacular local (to me) Indian place. Very impressed with their food, the vegetable/vegetarian dishes are outstanding. As is the service. A firm favourite now.
Amazing food! I must add delicious. Great ambiance
This restaurant has been here for many years and never fails. We had a delicious dinner served by some very pleasant staff
I’ve been a few times now and always a warm welcome and the food very good. I like the Fish curry but the Tikka Masala is also good - go there!
Very enjoyable. I try to eat ‘good’ Indian food every time I’m in the UK from the US and this one didn’t let me down. Great food, great service - just round the corner from my hotel. Perfect! 👍
My favourite local restaurant! Go for the small plates and don’t miss the palak chaat, lamb chop and baigan ka bartha. This place never fails to deliver. Knocks the other Indians in the neighbourhood out of the park!
Absolutely delicious food at a very high quality with nice staff and a great location.
The food was good but the portions are very skimpy. We are. Not big eaters but with each we kept wondering where is the other half
Good local Indian restaurant. Authentic food and reasonable prices.
We went to Thali while in London on the recommendation of friends, and weren’t disappointed! They had a broad selection of dishes, and the food was delicious! The service was also excellent. I’d definitely recommend it!
Amazing authentic Indian food - service was fantastic
I have been here many times. Excellent selection of dishes so a different food experience. Favourites are Tandoori Salmon starter and also Scallop starter. Very good lamb mains. In season the Venison Bhuna is splendid. The Byriani Lamb was really good. I always always drink the Mitchell Peppertree Shiraz!
They must have been having an off night as our experience did not match the ratings from others. The food was good, but not outstanding, and the service was pleasant but slow and unattentive, just a good local Indian.
Wow. Our meal was excellent -- one of the best Indian meals we've ever had. The service was wonderful as well. Delicious starters and main courses. Not one bad note. This was our last meal in London and it was memorable.
Food came almost an hour after we entered, The starters were far too small compared to other Indian restaurants and finally, on giving the change we were not given an itemised bill.
I have been to Thali a number of times and I always find the experience to be a good one. This time I tried the Tandoori Salmon starter which was very tasty. Mains included Chokandar Gohst andLamb Rogan Josh which were both very good. Gaarlic Naan was delicious. Paid the extra for a decent wine. The food derserves it!
When visiting London I always try to have an Indian meal at least once and happened on Thali because i was staying in the neighborhood and it was recommended. I have to say it was the finest Indian meal i've had and so good that I returned the next night to enjoy the place one more time. My waiter was very helpful, provided useful and very satisfying recommendations. Overall a great spot.
Best lamb chops ever
We will definitely come back again and again
Excellent food and service. High quality. Great popadoms & chutneys, which is generally an indicator as to the overall quality of the restaurant. We will definitely be back!
First class! enjoyed our (First) experience of Thali. Food good but starter portions, for the price, were a bit on the small side. Mains were tasty and well presented. Overall it was a pleasant experience and would go back again!
The service was SUPER slow and disorganised. The food was very good, but everything took ages to arrive. We all were starving....deserts were mediocre.
I would recommend Thali for the quality of their food, but will also advise to eat something before you go there, as even having some popadoms will take 30min to arrive.
