Guests have been coming to the Thames Foyer to enjoy our famous Savoy Afternoon Tea for over a century. An extensive range of over 30 teas are accompanied by twists on classic sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd, and the talented pastry team’s selection of pastries, each one a tempting work of art. A wonderful experience - exactly what you would expect from a place of this reputation
Excellent service. Lovely good & great relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely come again & recommend to friends
Very expensive, didn’t like the sandwiches, or non alcoholic drink and -felt forced and miss old the drinks. Piano player played for 10 minutes while we were there. Tea was tepid . Waiters vanished. We had one cold drink and cost £327 for four people! Was expecting it to me £290!!!
Really good afternoon tea. Very good service, food full of flavour. Pianist rather loud though. He did take a break ,bit more peaceful. Beautiful hotel.
Excellent High Tea in the Thames Foyer. Lovely to have the accompanying gentle piano music .
Great way to celebrate a belated birthday. The staff were outstanding!!
Fantastic hotel restaurant to have an afternoon tea as a treat. The price is a bit steep but the ambience was breath taking. The Thames Foyer staff are amazing while the pianist played engaging classical favourites. Afternoon tea was presented with the most beautiful tasting sandwiches, delightful light, mouth watering scones , I just wish the cakes had been tastier. Overall a wonderful afternoon
This is, by far, the best afternoon tea I have ever been to. Every item was delicious and perfect. The location was beautiful and a live pianist was playing amazingly well. The staff was also very accommodating, constantly topping up our tea for us. Amazing and would definitely recommend!
Brilliant service. Especially from Abby, Jan and Nikoleta.
The pianist contributed to the ambience of the beautiful surroundings.
Food was delicious and we were able to take home the remaining cakes,
All the staff were warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Superb afternoon with excellent food and service.
Absolutely first class in every way. Abby, Tam and the whole team were outstanding. Our favourite afternoon tea in London so far (and we have had a lot!)
Stunning experience all round! Will definitely be returning! Huge shout out to Sal what a gentleman asset to the hotel! X
Loved the whole experience. Would definitely recommend as a gift, a special occasion, or just as a treat - we all deserve one of those after all!
This was a booking that should have happened in March 2020 as the present for my mothers birthday. Service was incredible - everyone is treated like the millionaire that visits every week.
My mother was really impressed and my nieces enjoyed the doggy bag of the remaining cakes at the end of the day.
We went for the first time for our wedding anniversary it was perfect the staff were fantastic the atmosphere was lovely the pianist was amazing highly recommend perfect for a special occasion
Had the best time - absolutely delicious food and tea and delightful staff in a beautiful ambient setting. Will definitely go again
My guests and I had a wonderful time for our visit for our afternoon tea. Everything is done very professionally, you are always made to feel welcome. The staff and food are excellent. It is such a comfortable environment to spend a very pleasurable afternoon. This was our third visit for afternoon tea.
Lovely afternoon to celebrate a special birthday.
Service was great and the food selection was amazing.
Couldn’t fault it.
The staff make it tho.
A wonderful experience of opulence, finery, and indulgence for my girlfriend and I. Afternoon Tea with champagne was beautiful, service by our three waiters was impeccable, and the pianist played beautifully throughout. There is a certain vibe, a buzz, that starts as you get out of the black London taxi and continues to reverberate within the Savoy. A totally fabulous experience from start to finish and well worth every penny. Bravo!!
The tuna sandwich and the coronation chicken sandwich were lovely. The pianist was excellent. However, the service although friendly was far too intrusive and rushed. We didn't have the opportunity to taste any of the cakes except the scones. Andrea offered to pack our untouched cakes in a box for later. He failed to mention that not all of our cakes would be packed . A surprise when I opened the box at home, to find a missing cake replaced with a scone, most disappointing! I had actually wanted to taste all the offerings. If it had been brought to our attention earlier that it wouldn't have been included my party would have made sure to taste it. Unfortunately, the Savoy experience hasn't been a good one, and as a benchmark for afternoon tea, Claridges still remains the best.
Disappointed with no choice of GF bread. Good choice of teas but serviced cool . Staff friendly and helpful and nice atmosphere . All about personal choice .
We had a delicious champagne afternoon tea, service was impeccable. Surroundings were comfortable and enjoyed the pianist.
The experience at The Savoy was amazing. The staff were so polite, respectful and dedicated to making our visit the best it could possibly be.
The Afternoon Tea was unbelievable and served beautifully which made the whole day something we will remember for ever.
We had a fantastic afternoon tea celebrating a 60th birthday, followed by cocktails in the Beaufort Bar. One of our party was a plain eater and we arranged some ham sandwiches ahead which was great as we could all enjoy the sandwiches and cakes. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Everyone is so friendly. Especially the manager Athina who was lovely and really spent time ensuring we had a lovely time.
Service was incredible, if I'm honest a little disappointed with afternoon tea selection but maybe just my personal taste! Overall a lovely experience!
Fantastic afternoon tea, service and food was excellent - we had the best time. Just a wonderful setting too and the pianist was amazing! Will return definitely. Thank you. Lovely unexpected touch with birthday cake.
Couldn’t fault this experience, with fir Afternoon Tea but decided to change it to High Tea - thought I’d leave and buy chips as I do love my portion sizes but ended up not finishing it and taking some of it home in a box!! It is such an stunning place, food was divine, service was authentic and so attentive, exceeded expectations and would love to go back!
Arrived on time and we were waiting next to the reception to be seated having been told that we were next. Very annoyed when other couples behind us were approached by the staff and seated before us . It seems know guests take priority over occasional guests. We did take this up with the staff and received three apologies at various times during our tea but the occasion had been spoiled. We will not be returning.
The staff could not have been more friendly helpful and gracious. We had new member who did her job perfectly.
We were all wowed by the experience. Went to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday and we’re delighted with the whole experience. Great service from very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended
Fantastic afternoon tea, staff so attentive and friendly! Amazing experience.
Great special occasion treat, service was fantastic and the location and background pianist added to the afternoon, would recommend
Beautiful experience, it really does feel so special. Staff were very attentive efficient, friendly. The piano playing in the background completed the atmosphere.
To be honest I was a little disappointed with the food is was good but did lack the wow factor of flavour and presentation that I have experienced in other afternoon tea experiences.
Jan and his colleagues were fantastic and many thanks for the birthday cake surprise. Wonderful to listen to a lovely pianist.
You would be hard pushed to find a more characterful venue for afternoon tea than the Savoy. The food is fresh and delicious; the music is pleasant without being too loud or intrusive whilst the selection of teas is extensive.
The only downside for me was a 25 minute wait to be seated on a timed booking and, judging by the comments of those also waiting outside the foyer, the issue wasn’t confined to just our party. You just don't expect to be kept waiting for any length of time at a place as prestigious as the Savoy. When there are so many establishments vying for the afternoon tea market at all price points, you cant afford to keep patrons waiting to be seated otherwise bottoms will be placed on seats elsewhere.
Attentive staff that are also down to earth made you feel comfortable food and service amazing
The atmosphere was good.
Value for money was very poor it cost £168 for 2, small round of sandwiches, which really was only enough for one, cakes & pot of tea.
2 glasses of champagne that when i booked read was included in the £75 per head & paid separately.
Had 1 hour 45 mins get that as next booking, but was brought bill b4 asked , then appeared with card machine to then be told can we leave as time up.. we was after our booking in time at table by 15 mins, again i understand that but to be rushed when we only had 1 hour 30 mins...
It was nice but overly expensive fir what one got
We had a very nice time, but waiting for our table at the beginning wasn’t the best start. The young woman who welcomed us was apologetic and polite, but there seemed little she could do. It did make us feel that we might be in a conveyor belt, which although this is true in reality, we didn’t really want to feel this, considering what the whole thing was costing. Table service was excellent, and Avatar, who was looking after us, was exceptionally professional.
We went for a celebration and couldn’t of asked for more.
